It does what it is supposed to do.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Chomecast device is very different than the familiar Roku model of streaming devices. Chromecast has no built in accounts that you can activate. Instead you connect Chromecast to your laptop/tablet/phone and the content is streamed from those devices through Chromecast. Only google approved sources are able to do that directly but with your laptop there is a google app that will let you stream any tab in your browser to the TV. This is not available with ipad chrome; With the ipad you run apps that support Chromecast to run content. There are not many of them yet unfortunately. I bought it mainly for HBO and that works fine.

Great streaming device does what is advertised

Nice gadget

Worthless without smart phone tablet or computer but knew that going in. Biggest drawback for me is the need to plug into wall for power. Would be way better if it could get the power it needed from whatever it was plugged into.

Works Great out of the Box

I use Android all the time, and the interface is familiar. I also like the backdrop functionality, which turns your screen into a nice slideshow. It's basically "set it and forget it" once you connect it to a solid Internet connection.
