It could be easier to use. Also, I rented a movie in Youtube and watched through chrome cast but there was a lot of freezing and interruptions, I have a very fast internet connection, so don't think it was connectivity.

Be aware you will need hook ups to TV if you already have cable, DVD access, netflix and so forth. The clarity of signal also depends on your internet provider. It is a good alternative when what you want to watch is available online but not available on satellite TV.

Excellent casting for web services like Youtube and Netflix. For casting local content using Chrome browser, there is a noticeable lag, which make it not so good for watching videos from hard disk of a laptop etc.

I only used this a few times and it worked just fine. It basically takes the content from your mobile device like a tablet or cell phone and displays it on the TV. The only real reason I would need this device is if I didn't have a smart TV or Blu-ray player with apps built-in. In that case, you could use a tablet or cell phone to link up with Chromecast and watch your shows/movies. Not all apps will work with Chromecast. Most likely, I'll use Chromecast with my guest bedroom TV and then friends/family that stay over (and who have a tablet or phone) can use their device to stream Netflix, Google Play movies/shows, etc.

I like that I can watch Youtube and Netflix. I've been using a blue ray player to do this but the chromecast starts up faster and the quality of the picture is great. I was surprised how well Youtube looks on the 46" lcd tv. I discovered a bunch of features I didn't know about Netflix using the Chromecast....alternate languages and subtitles! I just don't like the tab cast feature which seems slow but maybe that is because of internet connection. Hopefully more apps are coming. Overall an excellent buy.

So I got this on a black Friday deal in hopes of using it for multiple digital things. It was only $29 and it had a lot of hype over it. So I said what the heck, so I bought it. Here is my dilemma. I have the a rear projector tv pre HDMI input. Well, I purchased the Chromecast with hopes of hooking it up through my receiver, which has HDMI inputs, and then it would transfer through the component cable. At last it does not work. So that is where I am at and I just got a X-Box One and I am stuck again. I ordered a cable to hopefully work with it. we will see. If not... I will be new TV bound. Hey... it's only $35 for the full price.

I bought this for the vudu app. Initial setup was easy and the price is right. I only wish there were more apps. Currently I use this with vudu and Hbo go and it works great.

Having done my research, I knew exactly what I was getting when I bought the Chromecast. I mostly watch Hulu and Netflix and it works perfect. It got me to discover many more apps. Just wished it worked with Amazon Prime. I take it with me when traveling and it keeps working flawlessly. Great product at a great price.
