If you enjoy using the Netflix, Hulu, Comedy Central, etc. apps you'll love this. Makes it aonaimple to put your favorite shows on the TV and if you have an android phone you can actually cast your entire phone screen on the TV which is a nice extra.

Great, cheap little device for quickly streaming Netflix or Youtube. Dead simple. Only issue is still a little limited in apps.

Chromecast turned my 50 inch plasma tv into a very smart tv. Controlled by cell phone and tab 3 remotely viewing movies is a delight. Certainly recommended.

Chromecast is amazing! You can now watch anything from your tablet on the tv with this device. It's super easy to use; you just plug it in, set up is quick, then you use your device to watch anything that you would regularly on your phone or tablet!

Casting is great! Use it to cast Netflix, google play movies, HBO from my phone. Only bad part is when a service doesn't support cast - yes you Amazon prime and Cinemax go. In these cases you have to use Computer to cast from google chrome browser.

I'm not very technology-smart but I had read about the Chromecast and thought it sounds too good to be true. Then Christmas came and I had no idea what to give as a "family gift" - something everyone can use. I decided to get the Chromecast because my kids are always showing me funny videos from their phones. Well, this little device is amazing!! So easy, fast downloads, great picture quality.

Great for streaming to your TV. You can stream your favorites shows from your smartphone, tablet, even your PC. You can cast your screen on the TV, without the need of any cables. Just make sure you have a decent internet connection (5 Mbps and up)

Except for the lack of a remote, this seemed very handy. I returned it mainly due to my own difficulty using my smart phone. Hard to operate the phone with failing eyesight. Would have been nicer with a remote.

This Roku-like device is suited mostly to netflix viewing and sending your Chrome-based web browser window to a large display surface, such as a big-screen TV. Netflix and several other sources will stream directly to the device, meaning that you can start the streaming from an initial device (computer or smart phone) and then, once netflix recognizes the Chromecast device, power off the initial device and the connection will persist. However, we've found that it can be hard or impossible to pause that connection once you've disconnected from it; sometimes Netflix gets confused about whether it's streaming to your initial device. Streaming from a browser has some minor issues, such as latency (a multi-second delay from the action on your computer and the visual echo on the Chromecast), and throughput (substantially reduced update speed), but in general it's usable. Note that a streaming video played through the browser will use 2x-3x the bandwidth: 1x for streaming to the computer plus 1x to get that to the Chromecast, and you have to have spare wifi bandwidth for this, which is sometimes overused if you already have lots of streaming through the same wifi/router. The private Chrome window does not appear to be streamable, which may imply that it's sending the content through a service that is outside your LAN (wifi area). You cannot stream any other app to the Chromecast, such as Powerpoint or Flash or any other app that is used outside Chrome. That's why the device is called a "Chromecast", eh? One might propose that everything be done in a browser context, but that has other (limited) issues, such as Chrome not supporting Java 1.7 on MacOSX. However, you could replicate (some) content to a cloud service, such as google doc's, and then use the Chrome web browser to view it, if that's installed on your computer. All in all, using it is a pleasurable experience, with high-end HD quality and another way to show a bunch of folks what's on your computer or smart phone.

This thing is great to watch most movie channel apps on a bigger screen. One thing to note is that after the initial install I had to reboot my phone and iPad for the chromecast icon to show up in the apps. After the refresh, everything was good to go.

This product works very well and is super easy to set up. I bought 2 of these for my kids and had them both set up within 5 minutes. Both kids really enjoy it.

took a while to install and to learn how to use with my tablet,I enjoyed using it. The only thing I wish they had was a separate remote instead of using the tv remote. Hope they are able to create one soon

I have a Roku and "smart" Blu-ray players, but this device just sounded like fun and you can't beat the price. I have it connected to the TV and send the sound out via optical cable to my older 5.1 system. I much prefer the speed and functionality of apps such as Netflix that run on my iPad and Note II to those built into my Roku and Blu-ray. I wish Amazon was available, but the apps that are supported are the most popular (for me anyway). Just bought a second one for the living room from Best Buy at an even better price of 29.99. Over time this little device will only get better!

Seems everything has so many cables and so much "stuff" to get connected but this little gadget does it cleanly and with less presence. It does a great job connecting my 2nd TV to streaming.

I enjoy my chromecast. I use it to stream from my cell phone to my tv. I initially purchased an mhl cable but the fact that I can wirelessly stream makes it worth while! And the price is good!

I love the Googlecast. I only wish you could cast more apps. I also wish you could cast to multiple Googlecast at one time. So if you have Netflix playing on one TV you can watch the same thing from multiple TVs.

It is as good as they described...I bought this to watch sports event on Youtube... I love the fact that I could play the youtube video on TV... but can't play live streaming video... that is very disapointing...

If you stream as much as I do this is the item you want to have it is very simple to use and very inexpensive
