This little device allows you to watch anything available online (which is nearly ANYTHING) on your TV instead of your smaller screen smartphone or tablet. The ease of use could not beaten, except for the ease of installation. Just plug it into an HDMI outlet, download the app, & go! Not only does this device change home veiwing, but it is portable, so that you can use your Chromecast anywhere you go!

Bought this as a second one in the house for my daughter. We love it to rent movies. Just wish they would allow Apple phones to do the screen mirroring like it does on Android.

I enjoy it...fits a unique niche in my technological life...too bad it doesn't hold a charge and takes up 2 spaces (1 hdmi/1 USB)

This will eventually get smaller/faster/etc. Works as advertised and will only get better once more apps/companies get on board.

I really like this concept. My only problem was getting it to show everything not just purchased items and Utube. I still recommend it for anyone liking watching movies at home

If the wifi router is not close to the chromecast, it disconnects often. No such problem with any laptop or cell phone or other device at the same distance, so looks like it just needs a stronger wifi signal. I tried using the extended cable, as well as using power supply from mains using AC adaptor (instead of TV USB port), as suggested by others facing this problem. Neither of those made any difference in the working. I have put it into cold storage until I fix my wifi, then I really hope it will work!!!

This is great for Netflix streaming. My bluray player started acting up so I got this instead of replacing it, since I watch mostly Netflix. It is perfect for this, but honestly not much else. I don't watch youtube on my TV very much, but that works well too. I wish you could stream local videos from your PC to this so we could watch home videos!

Work immediately when set up on iPad. when added to iPhone would not work. removed from iPhone and kept on iPad and worked great.

This little guy works great. It's super easy to install and set up. We were streaming in less than 5 mins. We use it to stream all sorts of things, but it seems to work best in the native apps (i.e. YouTube, Netflix, etc). Hopefully more services will start working with it soon. We've had a couple issues streaming full screen from non-native players. But I think this is a Windows issue because the same video will stream just fine from my Mac. My daughter has used it with her tablet and it's a breeze as well.

I got it for a specific reason. That was to play my directtv app to my tv. Since its not capable of doing that, then its pretty useless.

Buy a Chromecast. This is the second one I've bought. It runs Netflix & Hulu (need to have subscriptions to those services), Google Play Music, Movies & TV, and many other apps. It uses your home WiFi to connect to the content and your smart device (Android AND iOS) as a remote. Price cannot be better for all the stuff it runs. I use it to watch Netflix, listen to music through Pandora, and even push my Android tablet to my TV (that's an option for a more advanced user). Really fantastic device.

Chromecast, a must have. Easy to use, easy to setup, each time more universally supported, works flawlessly either with Windows, Android or iOS. I love it. Actually I am buying two more for my other smart TVs

The price and the ease of use of the Google - Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media Player makes this product a winner. It also opens up an entire new areas of entertainment and possibilities. Not only does it increase the versatility of our tablet and what is on it, now my wife can watch the shows she loves whenever she wants and without filling up the DVR. An excellent product that does NOT cost more than it is worth for a change.

I luv the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. User friendly. Great smart phone for its price. Microsoft Lumina 435 perfect for a 10 yr old. Great price. Has all the features my 10yr old needs in this high tech world.

If you want to stream Netflix, youtube, etc...chromecast makes it super easy to use! For the price you definitely can't go wrong.

I heard so much about the Google chromecast and I always said I donot need the chromecast because I have a smart tv but this thing works seamlessly with all our devices its unbelievable would recommend to anyone

Although I had some WiFi issues (an ethernet option would be a welcomed addition) it worked as described. It makes your TV smart and allows you to play Netflix, Hulu, etc.

I have 2 Rokus and recently purchased this because Comcast won't allow HBO Go on Roku (Comcast as far as I can tell is the only cable provider that does not allow HBOGo on Roku, and is clearly the devil). I like the Roku and Chromecast equally, but the Chromecast is half the price. The only downside is my Samsung Galaxy S4 is horrible and won't connect to WiFi, which means I have to turn on my laptop more frequently that I would like. If you have a decent smart phone then Chromecast is perfect.

I bought the device so we could watch Netflix on our second TV. We have a Wii on the main TV. This works as well or better than the Wii and is easy to control from my smartphone. I tried using it with Chrome and other sites and while it does work it is better when there is an app that is designed to work with it. I'm hoping they will expand these apps so it can work just as easily with Amazon Prime streaming and other browsers.

The chromecast has exposed me to an entirely different world of television and movies. There is an enormous variety of channels that I never knew existed. I love the HD clarity. You want believe it to you use it.
