We got this as a gift for my dad and it's neat because we can share videos we see online or watch Netflix together. There is no recurring fee so that is great!

Great product very easy to use. Wish it had more apps, something you could browse internet with and show presentation.

Google made a pretty good streaming device. If you can use a smartphone or tablet, you can set up and use this really easily. Just download the chromecast app, plug in the Chromecast and follow the directions. It only took me about 10 minutes and 5 of those were just letting it download a software update. It was significantly simpler to set up and use than an Apple TV. I can't speak to Apple compatibility, but for use with Android devices, Chromecast works great. Its easy and kind of fun to set up a playlist of Youtube videos with friends in a queue. One of the downsides is that streaming quality seems to be dependent on how strong your wifi is when casting. If you're watching a movie from Google Play movies, I'd recommend downloading it first for better quality. If you're watching older YouTube videos with lower resolution, its not gonna look too great on most TVs. One of the other cool features that I didn't know about before buying is that you can use the Chromecast to mirror your Android's screen on the Television. It's a decent workaround for sharing content that isn't sharable with a Chromecast button in the app.

Bought the Chromecast a few weeks ago. It was VERY easy to setup. Netflix and YouTube woke perfect. I've tried streaming local videos many times and was disappointed, local files are choppy, audio is not in sync and it KILLS the battery on my laptop. It's great for turning a dumb tv into a smart tv, stinks at advanced features.

Plugs right in to HDMI port. All you have to do is configure it to your network and your set. I have purchased 2 of these and plan to get a couple more for each tv in my home. Great product, Great price.

I bought this this for my bedroom to get get Netflix without having to use any space for a DVD player or little box that can get knocked off or things like that and it works great , the setup was so easy and it takes no room at all because it plugs right into your hdmi plug.

I originally purchased one for my home, I do like the device and purchased one for a second home. It was a little hard to set up as it wants to take the host PC you are using and changes its WiFi network to the default WiFi network the Chromecast is on so it can communicate the final setup parameters to the device, this works OK, its after that when the Chromecast is trying to join your real Wifi network that it begins to get confused. There are some suggestions to turn on/off various features of your WiFi router/device, these really don't seem to help. After about 3-10 times of doing THE SAME THING, it finally works ( can we see the devices log files please ) . Once it is setup, it works great and delivers as promised. I actually purchased a second one for another property ( different brand of WiFi router there ) and had the same voodoo dance while waving the rubber chicken over my head, and then it worked. I am highly technical ( I wrote LOTS of actual router and networks switch code from very early 1990's till after 2000, then did Linux Kernel, and worked on embedded devices just like this little critter ). I actually know what and how it probably should do things, so its a bit perplexing as to why we need the voodoo dance to get it to work! However if you persevere it is worth it, and from doing research it does "just" work for some folks I believe, but Google is your friend here if it does not pass the initial setup easily..... again once that's done, it does "just" work!

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. I already had one that I was happy with. She gets frustrated because it will freeze after it's been streaming for awhile.

It doesn't work without the power adapter for some of my TV's. But that's expected since my TV's are a few years old now. Without more apps, I'm limited to just watching Youtube when my Netflix subscription ends so I put value and features 1 star lower for that reason. Google seems to have promised more apps in the future, so that'll make it a 5 star product if that in fact does happen.

I wanted to share 2 tabs of a browser to 2 separate TV screens at the same time...it doesn't support that feature out of the box. Also consumes a lot of wireless bandwidth to drive the video to the TV's.

I use it for my iphone and my ipad to stream onto my TVs. I videod my grand daughters baller recital and cast it on my TV. It was great fun to watch on the TV screen... Better than watching on my iphone.

I got this to stream to my older Sony hdtv and it works great. It my not be the only way to go but it seems to be able to handle my needs just fine . Recommed it.

The Google chrome is a cool little device the only complaint I have is that you have to run it off your phone or laptop it won't play Netflix or Hulu by its self. Other than that this thing is great.

This would have been a great tool in connecting your phone to your TV but watching a video has some connection issues.

This is the second Chromecast I bought and it was a gift. Recommend you download the app and use it; makes life simpler. Installation is easy and fast. The app (I use the iPhone app) is simple and intuitive. I use it extensively with YouTube and my wife with Netflix, where she now has the capability of streaming movies to the TV with subtitles. Excellent product. Fully recommend it.

I love my Chromecast! Easy to use and super convenient. Streams Netflix and webpages via chrome browser like a champ.

It does something nice like screening your PC to your TV. I need to review some more of it to see what it can do.hopefully I'll find some more apps for it online

I bought a chromecast last year and my husband and I loved it so much I had to get one for our other tv. These work great and update easily. Now we have two and don't argue over who gets to use it.

Chromecast is a great option for streaming on-line content. I got it to use on the road while I travel with TVs in my hotel rooms. Compact, light, and a great addition to my electronic travel tools.

For $35 it is a great value. HBO and Netflix, come in great. Set up was very easy. I think this is the future of TV.
