I purchased the Google chromecast for my daughter, she was watching movie's on her tablet which was too small. She is now able to watch her movies on her television in comfort. It a wonderful thing.

I purchased this mainly to stream HBO Go. Chromecast does this quite well with easy set up. Definitely worth the $35.

I originally got it to stream Netflix on a second TV. But as it turns out I also use it for my Amazon Prime account, Youtube videos, and random other videos already on my comp, phone, and iPad.

Great little device. Lot of entertainment value. We use it to stream netflix, espn, and Plex. You need subscriptions to these services to use them, they are not free or included with the chromecast.

My daughters use this for screen mirroring from their tablets. It would get 5 stars if it worked better with Apple, but I know that's not what it's designed for.

Bought for a 15 year old. She loves being able to watch her you tube videos on the tv. Plays all of her music thru this. Great purchase especially for the price.

I got this to compare with my Amazon HD Firestick. It's pretty nice because it ties in with my Android devices but I do find that I use the Firestick a lot more.

Easy to set up. Works well with some apps but not so well with most other apps. Les expensive than other streaming devices.

Device let's you stream the internet on your TV with the Chrome web browser. You can also mirror what's on your phone including apps, games, music, etc. You really can't go wrong for the price tag.

love being able to play music through tv (since my tv has the nice sound system attached) and also great for my one tv, which is slightly outdated (ie. not a "smart" tv). also makes a great gift!!

This is a great google product. WIsh they had these a few years back when I spent all sorts of money on wifi dvd and tv products. For $35 bucks this is a simple way to watch items from your phone, chromebook, or nexus tablet on tv. Even plays music from google play. Google needs to make more websites and programs like this.

We like using it , although we did have to call Google to learn about the concept. Sometimes we can close the computer - NETFLIX - and the movie still plays on the TV. Otheritimes - YOUTUBE - I close the computer - the signal is lost and no more video. But I am fine with either. Nice to use of Pandora and other work too.

This item was a gift for my brother. He was pretty extatic over how it worked and the quality of the product. He is constantly using it and telling me about what the next thing that he watched was.

I expected the module to be plug-and-play, and it was to a certain degree. Connecting it to my TV was no problem, but connecting it to my WiFi ended up being slightly technical. I literally had to change settings on my WiFi router to enable the module. Before you buy, check your router model against the list of routers known to work with Chromecast. It will save you a ton of time in the long run!

The Chromecast has great potential, but so far it really doesn't do much other than Youtube, Netflix, and Google Play. In theory, you can cast anything you can display in a Chrome browser on your desktop or laptop, but my experience with that has been far less than satisfactory. (desktop is an i5 2500K on gigabit wired) I think that over time, the Chromecast will get more app support, and will be a competitive option, but as of now, the only reason to choose this device over several competitors is the low price and the Netflix 3 month credit. I would only recommend this to a friend if they are only looking to stream Youtube and Netflix and they have strong wifi signal at their TV. Otherwise, there are much better options for a bit more money.

I would recommend this to a friend. Great great item... Great for quick movies and very very easy to use... I would recommend. This product for everyone to use.

Have not upgraded to a smart TV and probably won't be able to any time soon but this device gives me the ability to stream netflix directly to the TV and it is very simple and qiuck to set up.

The best part is being able to project from a mobile device or tablet to a larger screen. Very helpful for people who do not subscribe to satellite or cable TV.

The chromecast is really cool especially if you don't have a cable provider. We save allot by just having wireless internet. We have chromecasts on all our TV's and watch Netflix, Hulu and youtube.
