If you don't have a smart tv but would like all the features this is what you are looking for. You will need a smart phone like android or iPhone to control it though.

Bought a chromecast with a chromebook which a allowed me to stream websites to my tv which is cool...It seems to be faster than my blu Ray player apps so that's a plus.

We have enjoyed watching YouTube or just looking up things on Chrome with our Chromecast. My husband is just amazed at the technology.

I use this mainly with my Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. I can cast movies from the phone to my TV and enjoy a reliable cast as long as my WiFi puts out a strong signal.

This is my second chrome cast that I have purchased and I love them both! You never have to worry about loosing a remote because it is your phone iPad or computer!

I really like this product because of the convenience. It's great because you don't need to plug in a PC or a laptop to your TV in order to watch something from YouTube, Hulu, or Netflix. Just simply connect the Google Chromecast piece to the back of your TV HDMI outlet. Then you Download the App on your smart phone and your done. Just sit back and relax and enjoy your Google Chromecast. Also love the scenic pictures.

Love it! Solved my streaming video problem. No muss,no fuss! Easy set up and reasonable cost.

I think Google has nailed it on the idea and on the price. But, the product lacks features and support. I can use only mirror what I am either playing on the youtube app from my phone/ ipad or I can use my computer to mirror my chrome browser. This is too limited, even for the $35 price tag. I can't mirror my browser from ipad....since chrome won't allow me to install an extension on the ios. I can't mirror videos, games, pretty much anything except you tube or Netflix. Netflix is really useless since all the tvs today come with a default app for it. In fact they have youtube app too, but its much easier to play from the phone/ ipad. So, end of it all, its a cool idea, but google hasn't done justice to it....yet! If you watch lot of youtube, might be a good idea, I guess I would sti

I like this device for short time, but in a line run I don't recommend it because you always need to use your device to make it work.

If you are used to the simplicity of use of an apple TV this is a piece of junk. However, for a third of the price and if you own an android tablet or phone, might be your solution to TV interface; whatever the case cannot work as a standalone device (requires a phone, tablet or computer to control). Focused to work for google applications (chrome, youtube, etc) and google "standards" aware sites. Therefore half the stars.

Had trouble setting up. But once set up liked it Sometimes looses Internet and have to reset

The Chromecast is a pretty good device. It is not really family friendly like a Roku. I have tried it with a PC laptop, Doid phone, iPhone, and iPad and it works good with all of them. Set up is farily easy and it creates a wireleless hotspot to do it. After set up is it connected to your regular wifi. I hope to use it while traveling in hotel rooms. Glenn

I bought this for my son and granddaughter to use as they didn't have cable TV for a while. My son has a LOW tolerance for electronic things and will refuse to use them if they're complicated. This item was a dream to get started and basic enough that a 5 year old could operate it. It did help that my son has a Nexus tablet to command the videos with, but overall a very worthwhile purchase and they absolutely love it!

Fun watching YouTube and other excellent TV sites on my big screen and with digital sound. Way better than paying for dish or cable.

I have not untapped its full potential but it has come in handy a few times to project photo's and show's from my phone to my TV.

It was a quality purchase and good for the price, if you want to play YouTube videos on your TV this is a great purchase to make !!!

This is a product that is easy to use and has great quality. However, there are some issues when I use my phone. It gets a little buggy when I use the netflix app. The little Chromecast icon says I'm connected then it cuts the connection. Luckily Google has automatic updates so, I'm sure, over time, these issues will be resolved. Plus a great price.

We love it, but could be easier to use. Also didn't get a chance to use the free Google Play. Maybe they can extend it in the future.

This is a fantastic device that not only supplements your own existing entertainment hardware, but is available at a price point which makes it an attractive gift for just about anyone. It's easy to set up, easy to use, and is continually updated/supported by more and more applications. If I had to choose only one device to plug into my TV, this would be it; over my HTPC, Xboxen, or even a cable/satellite box.

I love this thing! The only thing that I was disappointed by was the durability of the power connection. It didn't take much to bend it but it still works for me.
