Love it and able to download it from my phone and transfer to my TV....can't do that with the Amazon fire stick or Roku.

I can play Netflix on my laptop however it does not work very well on the chromecast

This is my second Chromecast in the house. Easy setup and user friendly. Wish it could stream Amazon Prime without using Chrome browser, but we love it.

I had the original and got this one for my office and I love it! Much fewer issues loading and the app is great too.

for small $$, it has the promise of doing amazing things. What I want to do, i can't get there from here. I wanted to stream music stored locally to stereo, application doesn't exist yet. what available support there is for music is pulling from the "cloud" or internet. works great for youtube and pretty much anything off a website.

I cut my cable, so I am always on the look out for a device that will allow me to watch programming that I can't get on my google tv and my roku box. This device is cheep and works great for all the things my google tv and roku box does. So why did I buy it? The ability to 'cast' any tab from a computer to the television. Anyone looking to cut the cable should know that ABC, NBC, ECT. do not usually allow computer internet browser functionality on the major set top boxes. While you can catch the latest episode of How I Met Your Mother on the CBS website using your computer a day after it airs, the same is not the case for most streaming boxes (probably all?). You can, however, 'cast' the video tab playing on the ABC website to your chromecast. Before you run off and buy one, please remember this feature is in BETA and it does not seem to work very well at all. I tried it on my laptop, the video when casting youtube was awesome, perfect really. When I tried the ABC player, the frame rate dropped to about 4-6 fps (sound was clear though). This was not going to work, so I went to do some research. According to DSL reports (.com) when you use the beta cast function to cast any tab, it has to offload many functions to the computer and my laptop was not powerful enough to handle the encoding. (AMD 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, win 7 64 bit, not sure video card). No problem, a bit of a pain but I can cast from the beast upstairs (I5, hd7850, 8g ram, runs skyrim on 1440p 27in monitor maxed out). This works much better, but there is still some sync problems with audio and frame freeze. In the end I would not recommend this to someone who has access to the services served up by chromecast apps (Netflix, youtube come to mind, not sure of full list) through some other means. If for some reason you are still using the dvd mail part of netflix because you didn't have a way to stream to the TV, pick this up. If, on the other hand, you want to beat the networks so you can stream their 12 minutes of forced commercials to your TV instead of watching at the computer desk, I would not recommend. You can pick up a nice HDMI cable and plug it into your laptop next to your tv (which is what I did after I got fed up with the chromecast). Bottom line is that I can't figure out why people love these things so much, haven't they heard of every dvd, blu-ray, game console, some audio receivers, and pretty much anything that hooks up to the TV these days for streaming netflix? Also there is a rumor that google TV will get cast some time soon. Not sure, but if you are looking for streaming I would seriously consider the visio costar over this, the remote is a bit clunky, but how much more clunky do you get than running up stairs to start the program, and run back down so you dont miss much of the intro (the only place the networks dont put commercials:). -Willie-B

Bought for my son to make his bedroom TV able to show Netfix and Youtube. He uses his Ipod touch to control it. It did not work well with my laptop for trying to watch network TV website videos using google Chrome. Still better to just run a hdmi cable for smooth playback of video. But works great for main reason of purchase.

Great for viewing movies and videos but limited access to some apps from in iPhone

Gave up cable, so this opens up entertainment options. Inexpensive. Works good.

I love being able to view my pictures and videos that I have saved on my computer on the living room tv. I have netflix on my computer but I did not have any way to stream them to the tv until now. The kids love baseball and they can pull up you tube videos of there favorite baseball plays to share with each other. I purchased this with the chromebook 14 and they work amazing together.

It can have ts downs was a bit complicated to set up but other then that I recommend this over roku or amazon fire stick

I love it, I can do everything on my tablet & play it on my TV, I'm still trying to figure if I can play things on other TV's in my home at the same time

If you are into seeing Youtube, Netflix, Hulu Plus, HBO Go or your Android Phone/Tablet in a bigger screen, this is the cheapest way to do it wirelessly.

I bought this to stream HBOGO from my iphone, I had previously bought a Roku 3 for that purpose. However, my provider is comcast and they have blocked me using HBOGO on the Roku device. It works awesome when I stream from my iphone, I tries streaming from my laptop but it lags and is very annoying. Not sure what the problem is.

Works great as long as you have a powerful and secure wireless internet connection. Otherwise, you will have issues.

Very low risk for the price. This product is very easy to set up. Cannot match the number of apps that something that roku has yet but the list keeps expanding. For me they have the main ones like youtube, hulu, and Netflix. I am waiting for Amazon instant. For what you pay and the ease of install, I highly recommend this product.

Purchased one awhile back when they were relatively new to the market. At that time I only had Netflix and Youtube as cast-able apps through my iPad. Since then, many apps have been added (as well as a chromecast app for iPad that easily facilitates setup on iOS). Had some glitches after a month of use (netflix would not cast) but after doing a simple reset of the device it has worked well.

This product is good for watching tons and tons of movies. It can save you lots of movie money cause we can all have family nights watching it together.

I am somewhat disappointed in this product, but not sure if part of it is my fault since we mostly have Apple products. I was told this would work with Apple products, but it ended up cutting off during the program that I was watching through the chromecast. Maybe I just need more time to understand the product better.

I like it overall great product. Really easy to setup.
