I have found many uses for this, but my favorite so far is music streaming. The ability to do a youtube queue is also quite nice when friends are over.

I bought this mainly because of the price and the Netflix offer. I can say now that I am happy with this purchase for the functionality as well. It is easy enough to use that even my 6 year old can stream. It does stop to buffer every once in a while and I had to move my router closer to get it to work, but I think that's the routers fault. Hopefully Google will add local content streaming.

I like Chromecast now bcos it is working excellent for me with no buffering issues. Improved a lot!! Thanks Murthy

Don't know why I did not get one before. I have uverse in Miami. Now I can get most of those channels in Longmont and don't have to go to another provider

I'm a little late on the product...i wish I got this when it first came out. Life would of been so much better...down side I'm a couch potatoe now lol

I just heard of this product, and when I was told the price, I ran to best buy to purchase it. I don't use cable and I watch all of my shows online. This allows me to cast what I watch straight to my tv. I use it daily. Great product, great price! The only thing that would make it better, it's if it would automatically cast from more apps without having to cast my whole device.

Only thing is I wish the product had a screen with apps to use instead always needing an additional device to connect.

My nephew suggested I purchase one of these after I was amazed seeing him use it at his home (Thank you Jacob!!) I immediately ordered one and once I got it, quickly installed it and have not been able to stop using it. We even bought one as a gift for someone. The only reason I didn't give the features an excellent rating is because I don't know them yet!! ☺ Google, this is excellent!! ☺

We have a non-smart TV in our bedroom that we got this for. We're able to use our Android devices as remotes, and control the volume and playback. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the device that is casting occasionally disconnects, and we can't figure out how to take back control of the media that is playing.

After using one for about a month i had to get a second one for my bedroom TV in order for me not to be moving it from one TV to the other. This device make streaming from my Desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone so easy my 3yrs old daughter is able to use it to watch her Youtube cartoon from my smartphone.

Everything is working great as it should. The casting from chrome and all. It would be better if there is an option to charge through TV's USB port

This is a nice little gadget to have if you have a tv in one room and want to watch your favorite program on without having to get off the couch :) :)

I would suggest hooking the power up via USB cable to the TV. That way the Chromecast is only on when the TV is on.

While looking for an inexpensive way to view online videos (youtube) and some webpages on my larger TV rather than on my tablet, I found the Chromecast, which is a pen-drive sized gadget that allows you to replicate the contents of **SOME** apps from your tablet on your TV. A word of warning: this is not a substitute for a Roku, Apple TV or similar. What this gadget will allow you to do is to replicate the content of your tablet (Apple or Android) on the TV where the Chromecast is connected. You will need a USB port on the back of your TV (from where the Chromecast gets its power) and a HDMI port to plug the stick. If you don't have a USB port on your TV, the Chromecast comes with a power supply so you can plug it in. Pros: Easy to setup, inexpensive Cons: You can "project" to your TV from only a few apps. Final Verdict: Inexpensive way to view video and music on your TV.

I really like the chrome cast. Very easy to use and I love that it's wireless.

I love how I can use my laptop and smart phone to cast different shows and videos to my TV. I was looking into the Roku, but couldn't justify spending $65 extra when this does everything I wanted. However, sometimes when the connection is slow, the picture gets very blurry, but that would happen with any streaming device.
