Great little thing to help you eliminate wires in your room. Works great with compatible stuff, ..which at this point is Netflix, Youtube, and Google Music/Movies. 1080p, perfect. The 'beta' feature of 'casting' chrome browser tabs works decently. I have a year-old laptop. Our wireless router/modem isn't the very new and on a different floor, and internet speed is OK. 480p is pretty smooth, 720p is jumpy. I've heard others have had better experiences with this. The other beta feature of casting the entire screen also works decently (no audio though). There'a also a 'cast audio only' option. Anyway, you won't be disappointed if you buy it for the currently compatible stuff. I would imagine in the next year the list of compatible apps will expand and the tab/desktop casting may be improved. *also I originally tried this on a no-name (Hannspree) computer monitor and it did not work with it.

I could not wait for this item to come back into stock. This item is impossible to find, whether online or in store, but I'm not really sure why. Of course, it's really just a matter of plugging the HDMI device in to an available port on your television. But, you have to download the Google Chromecast app before it will broadcast (or Chromecast) your desired program. Here's the problem; the app is still in BETA and crashes (on average) every 20 mins or so. You must find your network again, reconnect, wait for the show to stop buffering to find where you left off before the app crashed, then watch until it happens again in a few moments. We have tried the app on our Galaxy SIII phones, our Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, and a Toshiba laptop running Windows 7. Once you get used to this frustration, you begin to realize that unlike Apple TV or Roku, there are no apps that come preloaded with this device because it's nothing more than a receiver of what you broadcast to it. If you have the misconception that you will have endless apps, wrong. You have access to whatever you can play from your device. But if you know anything about Android devices, Internet browsers are not always recognized by your device, thus making watching some shows impossible. I would recommend that if you have Apple TV or Roku, stay with it

We love using it to cast stuff from our phones or computer. It will turn our TV on for us too. Pretty cool

It is an excellent product for watching movies and videos on any TV you just have to be conectadp to wi fi

I have the Roku but I like the fact that I can cast straight from my laptop or tablet with the chromecast.

I have this connected to every cellphone, tablet and laptop in my home and it is awesome. Can't find anything on TV to watch then, BAM there is millions to watch on You Tube. We are considering cutting our cable off because of this great product. My 10 year old grandson will sit for hours watching You Tube.

I took this on my last vacation in Hawaii and was able to to watch my amazon prime movies on the hotel tv.

I was looking for some easy option to stream videos from my computer..this worked perfect esp with the Chrome browser. Also loved that I was able to stream Netflix from my android phone without loss of quality. Its very convenient especially useful when connecting to a TV which does not have built in WiFi.

Great Little Device, just wish I would've known about the 2015 model changes before I bought this one!

If you compare the price with the value of the product,it is worth every penny

There's a bit of a learning curve to get this to work, but overall it's great.

My kids love it they hook it up to my note pro and play games and watch movies

While this product worked perfectly, I had trouble with installation because the shape of the chromecast barely fit next to other devices that I had already in my tv. I look forward to using this for movies, NFL sunday ticket and other video streaming features.

We love Google Chromecast so much we bought a second one for our bedroom and plan to buy a third for our guest bedroom. We just canceled our very expensive satellite television subscription because we stopped watching it due to always using our Chromecast. Google is amazing and it just keeps getting better!

I love this device and my brother does too, he just 11 years old. Unlike a remote control for smart tv, which takes a lot of time to type every word to search anything, this one does a really good job of fast typing directly from ur smart phone or tablet, and directly sending what u want to watch to ur tv.

Compact and convenient only problem most new TV's already have these features.

I already had one Chromecast in my room. I had to buy an extra one for my living room. use it every day!!!

TV is so much fun now I had to cancel my cableno reason for it now!

I was wanting to hook my netflix up from my iPad (2nd gen) up to my TV. I was going to use an AV to HDMI converter which was going to run me about $60+. But the rep pointed me to Chromecast. After spending all of 5 minutes to set up (hook into tv and follow 3 instructions) I was watching Netflix in no time

It worked really good while we had it, unfortunately I knocked it out of the tv & it did not work anymore.
