Hopefully more sites will host the chrome cast capability. Currently you are limited to Netflix, hulu plus, Pandora, HBO GO and a few others: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/devices/chromecast/apps.html. Still find this item very useful.

Has lots of potential

Hopefully there will be many more apps supporting the platform in the near future and then this will be a serious force in the TV space. Until then, it's just a 'netflix' player alternative.

Good for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Chromecast does well when streaming Netflix from a device; however, It struggles when trying to stream from other websites (i.e. MTV, ABC, ProjectFreeTV) The picture tends to lag and freeze, despite it being clear on the laptop. If you want a cheap device for Netflix and Youtube, this is good for you

not what I expected

You cannot show your personal recordings or pictures through this device. I wish I would have known that before I got it

I THINK ITS BETTER THAN APPLE TV BECAUSE I CAN STREAM IT FROM APPLE PRODUCTS AS WELL AS SAMSUNG AND ANDROID PRODUCTS. SO I WOULD DEFINITELY WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT

Trouble connecting

Have open and close app on iPhone serval times to get it to conect with the chromcast. Some times have to unplug and plug back in to get the app to reconize the device. Very frustrating.

Not as advertised

Sadly for me, I hadn't done any research beforehand. Suffice it to say, this is NOT just like a Roku. Must be operated through a cell phone, which is cumbersome and inefficient.
