Bought this for my daughter to watch her iPod YouTube videos and Netflix on her TV.

Plenty of apps to pair with it. Example HBOGo or HBO now.

I needed to watch a game that streamed online and this worked great with no wires.

I don't watch much TV so, this works great for me!

The Chromecast is an excellent device for streaming certain types of media to your television. Unfortunately the formats that can be steamed are limited and therefore re-encoding may be necessary for certain files. Connectivity is excellent however the device only connects on lower bands which is counterintuitive when streaming HD content and requires you to manually switch to lower bands before casting. Aside from that the Chromecast does offer a fairly simple way to stream files wirelessly to your television and is a worthwhile product. If it supported other codecs and connected on higher bands it would be a no-brainer for it's value. As is, other android dongles which do not have the chromecasts limitations exist and may be worthwhile to consider as alternatives.

I would like to see pictures etc. We cannot cast them now

This thing was easy as pie to setup, and easy to stream to, from all the places they mention. If I try to stream a movie that I had on my pc, like an .avi or .mp4, then you need to figure out alternate ways to get it to stream.

Does what it says, however has a lot of potential for more.

I use my Chromecast every day. I have used one for about 6 months and I can't imagine what I'd do without it! I don't have cable because everything I watch it on YouTube, Netflix, or Hulu Plus, so this is perfect for me. Better than watching everything on my computer.

Works great to stream video to TV. Easy to set up and use

Does not do a good job of streaming from my laptop to my TV

The Google ChromeCast does as advertised, it allows video streaming from a Google Chrome browser on a PC, from the Netflix App on an IPAD and reportedly Iphones, Android phones and other tablets as well. The video streaming is great. You can stream Netflix from the IPAD, close the IPAD and it continues to stream. You can also use the IPAD to control the volume as well as pause and restart the video stream. From a Google Chrome Browser, you can open a tab, start Netflix, open another tab and the video continues streaming. You can also view the web page on the TV. For the price ($35.00), it is hands down the best streaming device I have encountered. If it were able to stream from other web pages, or from the computer desktop, this would be a phenomenal device! I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

It is great buying it and having fun using it , work great.

If you've had trouble with HDMI cords and other cables attempting to stream what's on your phone or laptop to your TV, Chromecast is a must. Makes everything easier, things like Netflix work perfectly, and it's relatively simple to set up. No faults to report really.

This is exactly what you need if you don't have a smart tv.
