Easy to setup and use. This is the third one I buy for my house. Great quality

This product is really good you can see a lot of your apps up on the tv screen

It is easy to use just plug in t.v. and follow. Purchased as a christmas gift and they were thrilled. haven't heard any complaints, so I gather it works great.

Product works great. Brings a lot of different entertainment options into one.

Wife was confined to bed and needed to watch tv. It was an immediate solution.

A little tricky to set up at the beginning but afterwards, easy to use. You have to have a good WiFi set up for it to function properly. Overall good product if you don't want to spend $200 on a blue ray player.

I purchased mainly on a trial basis because the price was right at $30 (on sale). On occasion, I use my laptop with build-in HDMI as a streaming device for my TV. Unfortunately, I have to use a wired setup (via HDMI cord) as my laptop doesn't have newer display-share technology. I did a little research before hand, but not a ton. I wasn't too concerned if it didn't work perfectly because of the price. The reality is, the product works great as a niche smart-TV replacement, but it doesn't do much more (at least not yet). I simply wanted to replace having to hard-connect my laptop to my TV, but the Chromecast can't do that in an ideal fashion. Laptop screen-sharing does indeed work, but it doesn't work all that well. It is still in a "Beta" state and I don't know how long it will last or if the quality will ever get better. Obviously there are bandwidth limitations and pretty severe stuttering issues. There is some lag as well, but that is to be expected, so I can't complain about it. Chromecast does work fine in broadcasting the Chrome browser by itself, but sharing certain media in the browser that isn't being used by a supported application can cause problems. There are some workarounds if you look for them, but those don't always work perfectly either. I will grant that Chromecast is a value-conscious alternative to other media-sharing devices, many of which cost hundreds. Using Chromecast to share media from a phone is also pretty useful, but again, application support is limited, so make sure you know which apps you want to use before buying. If it isn't yet supported, there's no guarantee it will be in the future. While it isn't something I necessarily need, being able to plop stuff on anyone's TV from your phone or laptop without having to worry about it being a smart-TV is useful. Chromecast is easily portable so you can take it to your friend's or family's house and share media that way. Just keep in mind what you need Chrome to do for you. If you just want to share media via Youtube or Netflix (as examples) from your laptop or phone to your TV, Chromecast is a very easy way to do that, and without having to worry about connecting cables. It is portable so you can really share anywhere there is a TV with an HDMI input. But if you plan to use it for screen-sharing your desktop or use media that isn't app-supported, your best bet is to look elsewhere. Right now, the technology with Chromecast just hasn't arrived for all your media-streaming/screen-sharing purposes. Overall, I would likely recommend this product to a friend, but such a recommendation would depend on how they plan to use Chromecast. For simple sharing with supported applications from a phone or laptop: absolutely, but not for much else.

Works great. We love to stream videos and movies to avoid all the advertising on regular tv. Simple enough for the kids to use right from their phones. We look forward to more services connecting in the future.

Chromecast was very easy to install and worked pretty much exactly as it was described to use. We were able to use it within minutes of plugging it into our TV and have had no issues since. We used Chromecast with both a PC and a Mac without any trouble.

I"ve had a ROKU 3 as my primary streaming box for about two years. I was relocated for 6 months for work and bought the CC for streaming at my "Work House". I was not disappointed. All the apps I use one the ROKU I was able to use with the CC. PLUS I could stream anything else from my PC, and this thing supports google play music. I bought my mom the 2nd gen for Christmas 2015. I now have my 1st gen and ROKU plugged into my TV. I did notice that one time the CC was streaming for two days without the TV being set to it's input. it used almost 200GB of data according to my OnHub router. I think a youtube video was started then the tv turned off, and it just kept playing the next video...

I bought this mainly to watch Netflix because the screen of the laptop is small.

Stream music, movies, pictures to your not-internet-ready tv...also stream your Chrome internet surfing sessions...fantastic!!...only con: doesn't cast movies I play on my laptop's DVD (thus 4 out of 5 stars).

This device is one star short of 5 only because there will be more features being unlocked in the future. A lot cheaper than an Apple TV and once all of the features are fully implemented it will be much more useful.

Chromecast is the most economically priced way to make your TV a smart TV. The installation is easy and the results are excellent. Chromecast has changed my viewing habits and allows me the freedom to watch streaming videos on my television with no hassle.
