This was my first experience into plug and play solutions like this. The best thing I can say it is NOT an Apple or Roku. There is no operating system or menu to navigate. It is a very basic system that allows you to stream certain apps that are compatible with Google Chrome. NOT all apps are compatible. Also, you need some type of cable provider of specialized account that you have to pay for fro certain apps. You can stream YouTube for free but that is about it. I originally purchased this because I could not get ESPN. You need a cable provider sign in to get access to the ESPN app. Like I said... it is basic. It really only allows you to project certain apps from your Apple or Android device to your TV. Mostly all I use it for is ESPN and Netflix but Netflix can be ran through any smart TV or Smart DVD system as well. Overall, you will start with the Google Chrome and then a few months later you will upgrade to a Roku, Amazon Prime, or Apple TV.

Easy setup. Affordable. Easy to use. You can watch content form your smartphone, tablet, or computer on your TV. Your phone is your remote.

I think the idea is great for eliminating cables behind the tv and using my device as a remote to set up streams of content. That being said, I had a difficult time try ingot to get it set up on my dual AC router. I went into my router's settings and try to make the adjustments to make it work to no avail. I did set up at a different place and it does work now. I am apprehensive about buying another one unless google can get it to work on the AC router platform. Tl;dr version: works as intended but not on AC dual band routers.

It was very easy to set up. We used to huddle around a smart phone to watch You Tube videos now we can watch on the big screen.

All you have to do is plug it in, log into your accounts and search through your mobile device or computer and it goes to ur tv without wires. I like this better than my roku

I plugged the chromecast in the TV hdmi, loaded the cellphone app, and entered the wi-fi password and I was sending YouTube video from the cellphone. Nothing could be easier.

I just wished I was able to cast my other premium cable sources rather than just hbogo. Everything is really good about this product though.

I got this so I can stream my Mac to the tv (cuz my roku isn't Mac compatible to stream the display) but only works with Google chrome and chromcast extension needs to be added.

The Chromecast HDM1 saves me a lot of time and inconvenience, since I no longer have to connect my laptop directly to my TV.

Great deal. I actually would have rather it been a small version of Apple TV or Roku. All it really is is a device to send your stuff from phone/pc/laptop etc to the TV.

This was super easy to set up and we have been having fun using it for streaming you tube videos and watching movies and tv shows on Hulu Plus and netflix. Awesome product

this is a pretty cool product if you don't have a smart tv or any other device to hook up to your tv for streaming. and it's a great price.

If I'm casting something from my tablet, there usually is no problem with lagging. However, if I am casting from my computer via Google Chrome, the lag on the TV is dreadful. The video on the TV often freezes while it continues on the computer. It is not a matter of a slow connection. I have a 20 mbps connection. Also, you cannot cast from a tablet via Google Chrome. Both of these issues need to be fixed for this technology to take off.

It's a great device. We use it to watch our netflix on our tv. It just doesn't work on our older tv. I also hope some day we can stream more video websites from the computer.

I was looking for some device to stream from my laptop or mobile and chromecast did it.... Very easy to setup, just follow the steps in the screen. Great product for the price.

I have three chromecasts on different tvs in my house. Gosh, what an amazing product! It allows us to share videos and music easily! Easy setup and no issues whatsoever!

Chromecast works well, real easy to setup. Works flawlessly from my android phone, android tablet or win 8 laptop. Use it in the bedroom to watch netflix or listen to Pandora

I have three of these hooked up at my house and have given two as a gift, they are great for watching YouTube & Netflix on your tv and they are adding more apps all the time.
