Customers often highlight the keyboard's excellent typing experience, praising its quality, ease of use, and lightweight design. Many appreciate the integrated stand and strong magnets for secure attachment. However, some users express concerns about the keyboard's stability, particularly when used on a lap, and find the price to be relatively high.

It is nice keyboard but lacks support to use it as a laptop. I case part could have been made better to work as laptop.

Bought this with the Google Slate. I am not disappointed. I am in grad school so the keyboard is used regularly. No issues at this point.

A must have for Pixel Slate

I got the keyboard and the tablet on the same day. I would not want to be without the keyboard. I like being able to use a traditional keyboard with the pixel slate. The track pad is nice. I like being able to control things like the brightness and volume from the keyboard. The ability to adjust the angle of the tablet is great too.

It is very nice but keys are a bit squishy and it takes up a bit too much desk space because of the back hinge.

Practically a Must-Have for Pixel Slate

The Google Keyboard for Pixel Slate is practically a must-have, especially if you do a lot of inputting. More than the Pixel Slate itself, it’s the keyboard that makes the experience of using the tablet rich. The keys are quiet and have just the proper feel and spacing. An integrated touchpad is so natural that you’ll often forget that the Pixel Slate screen is touch sensitive, too. The back cover adjusts the screen to almost any angle with a smooth motion. Note, the cover uses strong magnets. I accidentally put my phone on top of my closed cover and was surprised how much force was needed to pick up the phone.
Google includes a key that launches Google Assistant. Press it and you can speak to the tablet like you would any Google speaker. To save space, there is no Caps Lock. If you type a lot in all caps, you might want to stop shouting in your communications. Or you can reprogram the Ctrl key to serve as Caps Lock.
The keyboard has a backlight. But, in what seems like a documentation oversight, the backlight adjustment does not show up in the Settings panel of the Pixel Slate. To adjust the backlight, use the Alt key with the screen brightness buttons on the keyboard. By the way, the icons on the brightness buttons look very similar to the icon used by Settings.
Attaching the Pixel Slate to the keyboard is via a built-in snap connector. The tablet automatically recognizes the keyboard and orients itself to landscape. The keyboard adds weight to the Pixel Slate, which is already heavier than I expected for a tablet. The combo is still portable, but a little less so together.
The only real downside to the keyboard is that the combined purchase price of the tablet and keyboard rivals high-end Chromebooks. And if you’re typing enough that a keyboard makes sense, you’ll have to decide which form factor works better for you: table + keyboard or Chromebook.

I received this keyboard as part of a bundle special running a few months ago. It came free along with the Google Pen when I purchased a Google Slate. I am surprised at how well it worked with the Slate Tablet. Nice accessory!

This lightweight, detachable keyboard has an excellent touch. It is slightly wiggly in the lap, but quite good otherwise on more stable surfaces, like a bed. Good-sized, comfortable and responsive touchpad. Rather fingerprint sensitive.

For Google Pixel slate, this is probably your only choice since BRYDGE keyboards do not connect with the smart connector. However, I prefer Microsoft's design of Surface keyboards.

Got the keyboard bundled with my slate and I can't imagine using the slate without it on the go. The keys are good to type on and it's comfortable for my hand. Doesn't feel cramped at all.

The keyboard works and has a very nice tactile feel to it. I do worry about its longevity. The keyboard is sturdy but the part that connects it to the rest of the case seems to be a vulnerable part.
