Highly recommended for the Pixel Slate tablet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tablets are pretty cool, and very convenient. I honestly do not think I would enjoy my Pixel Slate nearly as much as I do without this keyboard case. The buttons feels surprisingly solid while typing, even though they are compact and shallow mounted. Obviously, you're not getting mechanical keyboard quality, but I have used many dedicated laptops with much less satisfying keys. For what it is, these keys feel pretty good. The magnets on the case are strong, offering almost unlimited adjust-ability for screen angle. The tablet itself snaps on and off with zero fuss. When closed, the case feels premium and protects the Slate perfectly while in a bag or briefcase.

Must have Pixel Slate Accessory
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have a pixel slate this is a must have accessory for it. This keyboard has a lot of great features. One of the best features is the connecting mechanism. It connects VIA magnets and it can slide into any angle you would want. This is much better than many other keyboards because it does not only offer one or two angles. It is made out of a great high quality material but it can get dirty/ finger prints on it pretty easy. The keys and track pad offer great feedback and it feels like you are typing on a regular laptop. The only kind of quirk is the keys themselves. They are round in shape which makes them a little weird to type on but after a little time they are easy to get used to. Since this is built for the Pixel slate i would recommend it over anything else for this tablet.

Gets the job done
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very capable keyboard accessory for the Pixel Slate. However, the weight of the slate itself makes the keyboard a bit floppy if you want to use it as a laptop in your, well, lap. The only time I felt comfortable was when using it on a sturdy desk. The keys and pad are responsive. It's super easy to connect to your device (magnets suck right to it), and works well with those with large hands. The reason it gets 3 stars is it just doesn't feel stable unless used on a desk or solid surface. Which, to me should have been noticed and corrected during the R&D of the device. But it wasn't.

Good keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works perfectly well with the google pixel tablet. I don’t really have any complaints about the keyboard. Setup was very easy. The keys are quite soft and responsive. The google assistant keys are really helpful, however, it takes time to get habituated to the position of the key, which is okay. The material of the keyboard is very soft textured. Darker colors might absorb some dust, however, cleaning it immediately after use is recommended. Great product by google.

OK Case
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Surface of case tends to attact fluff and dirt. Idea with magnetic for front and back is nice but does not really stay fully attached to body of computer. I found afew times where the case had moved and exposed edges of computer. I also question the durability of the plastic at the bends to last. Keyboard itself is excellent and one of the best. Nice travel and feel of keys, and layout is outstanding. Touch pad is responsive and click has 'feeling'. If only for the keyboard function, this item is a must have.

Very Good keyboard case, flimsy on lap
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.copied from my slate review I like this tablet, keyboard case, and the pen/stylus is ok. They were all easy to setup, however the tablet(slate) arrived with a dead battery, so when I initially tried to start it up/plug it in and it did not work I thought I had a dud. It started up after about 5-15 minutes plugged in. They are plug and play out of the box, slate, keyboard case, only the pen you have to unscrew and install the provided AAAA battery (yes that's 4A to fit in the pen, although it's not that slim and will make replacing it more difficult than a 3A (but I am guessing it will last a very long time) The Slate is setup with a mix between a PC style desktop (when attached to keyboard) and a tablet style OS when not, or if you flip the case back to back w/ keyboard down. It's smart enough to turn off the keyboard in this position so the keys won't accidentally press on you lap or anything. I am not a big fan of this OS setup, I prefer either the IOS or WIndows 10. Some functions like closing apps and toggling are difficult and the operation varied if the slate is open laptop style or flipped tablet style. The slate is easy enough to disconnect from the keyboard case, just pull apart the heavy duty magnetic connection. The case top is magnetic also to stay snug to the slate back flat or flip to a triangle shape stand to hold it up like a laptop. It also will hold the pen stylus to the back magnetic side This laptop style is fine if you are working on a table or desk, but a little flimsy on your lap or anywhere else and may tip over. The battery life is pretty good once I gave it a full charge. I have run it about 3-4+ hrs a day on and off/start & stop and I still have 19% left or 2 HR by their calc. It's a blend between web based and app based apps. Some just open a Google Chrome (standard browser) window and some run their own app. The pen is a nice addition but may not be worth the extra money. It works well but not sure how useful it will be. I used it for a couple drawing games and for notes, and I think I would rather type. (if I did not have the keyboard case, the pen would be more useful for notes, etc) Most of the apps are standard Google, sheets, docs, all running through google drive. I streamed a couple movies and the play is very good, no loading issues, vudo is standard, but others are easy to add. You may need to play with the screen settings if video is what you want, the glossy screen makes the picture seem dark. All in all I like this device. It seems and looks really cool. The main thing is the back and forth on the tablet/laptop mode and how to control/close/toggle apps, and the flimsy feel of the case if not on a table. When closed however the case covers/protects the Slate well. & the pen is just ok but would be very useful if you use it in tablet only w/o the keyboard.

Keyboard for Pixel Slate
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard feels very good. NO issues with mistyping due to the feel of the keys. This is a nice light keyboard and attaches to the Google Pixel slate without fail. Once fastened it is very secure and doesn't come apart while using it. I have used it for the past week and find it very easy to use and very precise. I do al ot of tweaking to informationa and training materials without any hesitation.

Almost perfect. Almost!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Man. I love this keyboard. I really do. It’s the perfect add on for your google slate. I usually like to stick to OEM accessories when it comes to my higher end computers. This one is almost perfect. First thing I like the most of the keyboard with its round keys. At first some people might think this was a bad choice. But it is not. The round keys feel more suited for my big hands/fingers. The keys are a solid feel and great feedback. The backlighting is great as well. As most are. They touchpad is solid and very clicky. Good build quality. The only thing that makes this not perfect for me is when the case is closed with the google slate in it. The slate slides on the keyboard. The case it not traditional in the sense where the hinge area is solid and not just a flap. It’s kinda annoying but it’s not at the same time. I think I’m too picky and expect perfect. But for the price you should get this. It really turns your slate into a very capable laptop. It has the dedicated volume up/down, brightness up/down and even a google Assistant button. Amazing. I do highly recommend if you need all the accessories like I do. Well done google!

What every keyboard wants to be when it grows up.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Slate is wonderful on its own but, for me, the Pixel Slate Keyboard vastly improves the experience. The keyboard is head and shoulders above any other tablet keyboard I’ve used. To be perfectly clear here; I’m saying this keyboard is better than; The Zagg Backlit Tough keyboard Logitech folio Logitech backlit keyboard (the tough one with the rugged surround case) Apple Smart Keyboard I have purchased and used all of these and the Google Keyboard for Slate beats them, hands down. If the evil empire had a keyboard this good, I probably would have hung on another year before jumping ship. The large round keys are a noise-free, backlit pleasure to use. Such a simple detail, that so many laptops still lack. In 2019 ALL keyboards should be backlit. Thank goodness Google gets the big picture. The trackpad is full size and the magnetic folio cover will hold the screen at pretty much any angle you want. I was especially pleased to find the keyboard draws power from the tablet itself and won’t saddle me with another charger to add to my daily carry. The Pixel Slate Keyboard- what every keyboard wants to be when it grows up.

Good and bad
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Slate keyboard to review along with a Slate. It's hard to review one without the other but I do have a separate review of the Slate posted. The good... + decent travel of the keys to provide some feedback while typing. + size is great, not reduced size. Easy to type on without cramping fingers. + touchpad is large and easy to use + infinite screen angle What I didn't like - unstable on the lap. Because the keyboard is also a cover it's got a soft hinge and the magnetic strip attached to the cover that attaches to the back of the tablet which allows for an infinite viewing angle but because of the of this it also takes up a large tabletop footprint, almost unusuable on your lap - the tablet attaches to the keyboard with magnets which auto-align with the connectors. While this makes a convenient method I did have the tablet become disengaged from the keyboard and drop to the floor a couple of times. Since I couldn't recommend the Slate while the keyboard does have some merit it's pretty useless without the Slate so I can't recommend the keyboard either.

Makes the Pixel Slate a nice 2 in 1
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always have to buy covers / cases / screen protectors for my devices, so I was excited to try this for the Pixel Slate. This keyboard does a great job of protecting the tablet while offering a near full size keyboard. The case is magnetic and snaps easily into place. The design is such that the cover is actually over the back of the tablet, and when opened can be tri-folded to act as a stand. My favorite thing about this is the built in, low profile, keyboard. The keyboard gives my slate so much more functionality for work because the onscreen keyboard takes up a bit of real estate. The keyboard is backlit and has all the standard features, buttons have a small space between so you are less likely to hit multiple keys at once. It does not offer a dedicated keypad, but does have a Google Assistant quick key. Overall I'm a huge fan, this makes it such that I can take my tablet everywhere for anything from work to streaming.

Great fit for the Google Pixel Slate
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THE BREAKDOWN: The packaging was very well done and like opening high end merchandise. In the box was everything needed to get this product up and running. Right out of the box it was up and running in a matter of seconds. I think you have a Google Pixel Slate this is a must have. Not only does it transform the tablet into a compact Chromebook but it also helps to protect your tablet. One negative thing is when you shut the case on the tablet it does’t really lock into place it is kind of sloppy feeling. I absolutely love the midnight blue color. It looks and feels great. I love the spacious keyboard and large mouse pad. The backlight keyboard is an amazing feature. If you like to have it set on your lap like I do when you watch TV you might want to grab something a little more stable before you slap it on your lap and start typing. PRO’s: -Very well built and stylish -Setup was quick and easy -Dedicated Assistant button -The touch pad is responsive and large -Backlit keyboard CON’s: -Sloppy feeling when closed -Needs some stability when typing on your lap SUMMARY: Overall, I feel that this product is really good and has a great fit and finish. This is a must have to keep your investment protected and I would definitely recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for something like this.

Excellent Keyboard for Pixel Slate
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My favorite feature of this keyboard is that it is backlit! It is a full keyboard and easy to type on. The keys themselves are solid and react well to fast or slow typing. Since the connectivity is built into the keyboard, it connects directly to the tablet and there is no pairing needed. The keyboard also acts as a good cover for the device. There is a very functional fold in the rear that helps with propping up but not just in one position, you can vary the level of which you are viewing it making it more comfortable at any point you are using it (on a table, relaxing on a recliner, etc.). Highly recommend making sure you have this along with the pen to complete the Pixel Slate tablet.

needs a sturdier backbone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As noted in my other Pixel family reviews, my main driver is a Surface Pro with keyboard and pen. The pixel keyboard uses magnets to attach the pixel slate, and it snaps on intuitively. There's a clever origami folding section that uses magnets to maintain position, allowing you to set the angle of the pixel slate while in laptop mode. Very clever, and no awkward forced in-between angles since you can just simply slide the magnets up or down. The keys are round, which did take me a little getting used to. There's more travel to the keys than [I] you first expect, so the "feel" of typing actually does work quite nicely. The main issue I have with this keyboard is the exact same issue I have with my Surface keyboard: it's too flimsy. It works and looks great on a desk or flat surface, but when I try to use it in my lap, it feels precarious at best. I've found a setup that works, but it never feels as natural or easy as using it on a flat surface. Other than that, though, as above, I like the keyboard a lot.

highly recommended accessory
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I highly recommend purchasing this keyboard along with the Pixel Slate. This accessory turns a top notch tablet into a top of the line notebook. It has comfortable feeling back-lit keys which is an amazing feature. Very easy to type on. It is easily attached to the Slate by way of a small strip of magnets and also provides protection of the screen when closed. The track pad is precise and has a good feel to it, slightly larger than other ones I've used. ONLY CON-The keyboard is unfortunately not useful when trying to use it on your lap. It needs a flat surface to stay upright with its "kick stand" type back support.

Should have been included!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Right out of the gates, I'll say that this should have been included with the Pixel Slate. With a click , the magnetic connection basically turns your pixel slate into a min laptop. Now, that having been said - there's one drawback. It just doesn't work if you're planning on using it in your lap like a typical "laptop". On a table or other solid surface though it's fantastic, but in your lap it's not rigid enough and is hard to manage. Keys are nice and quiet with just the right amount of travel. The touchpad works just like a laptop's would - no complaints about either component of this. The keyboard also acts as a soft case when not in use for your expensive Pixel Slate. Bottom line is that I really dislike how I have to use it on a hard surface - I would have loved to use on my lap - if you really want that functionality look into the 3rd party keyboard that connects via Bluetooth.

Good keyboard with some drawbacks
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So as a keyboard I think it works excellent. Key spacing is awesome and key travel is pretty good. The mouse pad is accurate and it's backlit. The downsides to the is that it doesn't really do a great job of supporting the Slate, you really would need to use on a table. On your lap it's just not secure at all and easier to remove the keyboard. The other setback is the price. At $200 it seems quite overpriced. If you have a slate and need the keyboard then this will work just fine but it's not what I would call value for money
