It has a learning curve, both the tech and the operator. A few things could be easier, but I think it’ll help us save money in the short/long run. It’s pretty too. (Frame not included:-) )

Been waiting for a long time to buy this product and I love it. Perfect for people with physical disabilities who need to be able to control things with their phone.

My wife and I want to slowly upgrade to home automation and this is a necessity. It’s supposed to learn the users patterns to automatically adjust the temp to its comfort. SMART.

My problem with this thermostat is that it does not do one of the two essential things a thermostat is actually supposed to do: heat your house. The Google Nest Smart Thermostat is an expensive piece of garbage. It worked fine for the first few weeks, but then it began to delay heat by 2-3 hours. If I set the temperature to be 70 degrees by 8am, the heat wouldn't kick on until about 10am, and then it would take another hour to get up to the desired temperature. My previous, 14-year-old, AAA-battery-powered thermostat never had this issue. I've spent the last month troubleshooting. I even had an HVAC tech look at the furnace, and there were no issues with it. So we installed a common wire because we'd seen online that pretty much everyone who didn't have a common wire had similar issues with the Nest. Even with the c-wire, we still have the same issue. The heat takes hours to turn on in the mornings, and since we work from home, we're wearing thick sweaters, slippers, and sometimes even thin gloves inside our house until about 11am every morning. I missed the return window here at Best Buy (because it didn't have issues until after the return window closed), so we contacted Google, and after an hour of troubleshooting (that I'd already done on my own, but the customer service rep insisted we had to do), the only solution they offered was a replacement of the base. When I asked for a refund they refused. Odds are I'll be out $250 and end up throwing out this replacement thermostat that won't heat my house during the coldest months of the year. I'll be re-installing my 14-year-old thermostat in the meantime. My advice would be avoid this product like the plague, even if you have a common wire. Old, dead technology with no customer service or software updates is more reliable than this flashy, useless garbage. If Best Buy offered in-store credit for a return, I'd take it in a heartbeat at this point.

I like the look of this Nest Thermostat and the ease of use. Love that I can control the temperature from the app on my phone. I did wish that I knew if I installed the device on July 31st, 2019, I would have received a $75 rebate, but since I installed it in August, I am only getting $50. My 14yo installed it on his own - gives you an idea of how easy it is to install.

I've noticed an improvement on the efficiency of my A/C unit. The energy efficiency features are great. I've already noticed a 200 kWh savings versus last year.

After seeing this in my friend's house and in an apartment building, I asked around. This thermostat is not only cool looking, but it has amazing functions, with it being a "smart" device. Nest also has great customer service for when I had an issue with installation (I blew a fuse). Super easy to install though...I absolutely love my all black Nest! I love that it also doubles as a clock and meteorologist.

Easy to use but if you have an older home, you might have to get some wiring updated like i did. It was expensive to get the wiring done although it only took an hour. The problem was that the nest takes up more power than older thermostats with a battery but it also helps save energy in the long run. I made an investment and i hope it pays off. I also have some troubles with the software at times when it says it is not getting enough power although it works most of the time

Worked fine-- right until warranty expired. Literally within DAYS of the 2-year warranty expiring, it completely died. Can't connect to WIFI, doesn't wake up when pushed, etc. Ran through all of the troubleshooting steps with Google, nothing worked. I asked for an exception, but they promptly denied me. This is too expensive of a product to have a 2 year lifespan. It's E waste. Don't buy.

This thermostat has saved me money on my utilities. It controls my house very well. If I leave my house it has my house comfortable when I return.

This was a great purchase and i do not regret it at all. You can literally control the temp from your job, or anywhere. Energy saving mode comes in clutch and you can set modes up for when you are away. So far grear purchase.
