And the hardest and frustrating part is that you can spend hours on the phone texting back and for with support and NO Answers. It does work well with the heat controls

It's literally like a volume knob for your home temperature. I think the ability of it to toggle on and off as you go in and out of your home is a great money saving green feature. I also think having the ability to set a zone of the temperature you would like is great and pre heating or pre cooling your home when leaving work is an added bonus. I do find that using the full extent of the application however is not the most user friendly. I am a techy so I figured it out but I had a hard time trying to set hours on the calendar. It is learnable but it will take a lot of getting used to for the less tech savvy.

Nest thermostats would generally work without a common wire. However, there are some systems that would require a C wire or Nest Power Connector. Nest thermostats are designed to use very little power, and in many cases they can use your system’s heating and cooling wires to get enough consistent power. But sometimes, you may need to connect a common wire (C wire) or power accessory, like the Nest Power Connector, to make your system compatible. When I look at what's online regarding Nest's plans to support the HomeKit format, there's nothing. I'm planning to sell the item on eBay and get the Ecobee4.
