    Being a non-handy new home-owner I had it in my head that replacing my legacy smart thermostats - which I could never get to work properly - would require the help of a professional so I just kept putting it off and suffering the cost and comfort consequences. Finally, seeing the headlines about the 4th gen Nest got me to do a quick google and sure enough it seemed my wiring would be compatible AND that I could even do it myself. So I bought one Nest, followed the instructions and within maybe 35 minutes had it up and running. It was so easy to install, and also to program! The very next day I bought my second one (which I was able to install in at most 15 minutes). Plus two sensors. Two weeks in, everything is working exactly as it should. And they look beautiful and the weather forecast display is genuinely useful. Tremendous!

    This new gen of nest looks sleek and I love the details on the screen. Easy to install the only thing is you need to use the google home app to control it not the nest app.

    I purchased this to replace my original gen 1 nest thermostat and so glad I did. The display is gorgeous and the inclusion of the temperature sensor is appreciated. My big reason for upgrading was the Matter/homekit integration. Despite the original nest being a great device I’ve always wanted it in my Apple home and now with the fourth generation it is linked up and works great. The original nest did not work with temperature sensors and now I can have the thermostat switch to the bedroom sensor at night, love this. Other features worth mentioning that have been impressive are dynamic farsight, and natural cooling. All in all this was a great upgrade for me and I see myself using this thermostat another 10+ years like I did with the original

    This is one of the best smart thermostats I’ve ever bought and used. I installed it myself, and it was very easy and straight forward to follow the directions to install. As an added bonus, this is compatible with my security system, so I can create custom scenes utilizing these two things together (such as automatic temperature changes when leaving/arriving). Im also a fan of being able to track our HVAC usage. A new feature with this is the secondary sensor which has been nice to have, and has all sorts of convenient benefits. Overall VERY happy with this. Ive had my thermostat about a month now with no issues.

    I upgraded from a Honeywell Lyric thermostat and I must say this was a great investment. It's visually stunning and I love having the extra temperature sensor to help regulate during the day when I'm working in my office that is frequently 5-10 degrees different than the rest of the home. I also love the integration with the google home app and widget, so it's easy to access my settings and make quick on the fly adjustments with my Pixel phone. My family also likes the presence feature to just walk by and it shows current conditions outside as well. Still pretty pricey, but keep an eye out for deals and I would recommend picking this up.

    I’ve owned every Nest thermostat since the first generation, and this is by far the biggest improvement yet. The bright display is highly customizable and keeps all the familiar Nest features, but in a sleeker, more modern design. Setup and control now run through the Google Home app rather than the legacy Nest app, so that is important to know before you upgrade. Google is phasing out older Nest models, and this unit is an excellent replacement if you are still using one of those. The included remote sensor is especially helpful in multi-level homes, allowing the system to detect cooler areas, such as a basement, and adjust heating to keep the whole house more comfortable.

    I love the thermostat. It works very nicely. Very easy to install. In fact, it took me no less than 10 minutes to finish. Love the big numbers works well with my iPhone or at the device itself. I would highly recommend this to anybody that’s needing a new thermostat.

    This is my first ever smart thermostat and it's fantastic. The install was very easy and quick. The polished obsidian looks amazing and has a nice clear finish. I will definitely be getting another for the upstairs thermostat. The price is a little steep but worth the investment.

    The installation took less than 30 minutes, and it was compatible with my system which was a concern of mine going in. It’s been working great, and setting schedules in the app has been amazing! No more sweating while asleep, and no more waking up cold either!

    Looks very modern and is very responsive. Before, at times I would turn on/off the ac or heat and it would take a few seconds for it to especially shut off. With this thermostat it’s instant. Installation took about 5 to 10 mins as I did exactly the way I had wired the previous model. Happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

    Old first gen busted and picked this up. Installation was a breeze, my only complaint is that you now need to use Google home and this will not work with the old Nest app

    It's such a huge step from its predecessor, it's quick and the rotating dial is meditation when turning it. Installation was breeze, it took about 30 mins due to inexperienced but if you knew what you were doing, it would take about 15 mins. The design is future proof and it just looks like the cleanest thermostat on the market. Incredible job Google
