The size is perfect to cover anything behind it on the wall! I had to take it back because the thermostat came with a backplate. Also, on each end it comes away from the wall. That didn't look very good. And yes I double checked we were putting it on correctly and we were.

Very easy way to hide blemishes left by previous thermostat. It was a little confusing to figure out which screws went where, but I may have accidentally thrown away some instructions.

Not much to review it fits as designed to cover the wall when upgrading your thermostat to the nest/google system. A little odd that it is comes away from the wall so you can see behind it, sorta defeats the purpose.
