Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another excellent product designed to work with the Google Home app. The setup for the doorbell camera is very easy & quick however the physical installation does require some ability since you have to most likely drill some holes for a secure attachment to your home. Luckily if you're a Total Tech client with Best Buy, they'll even do the installation for you.

This device can run on battery alone, but if you prefer it wired, it can be connected to doorbell system wires delivering 8 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA, 50/60Hz. Meanwhile, you might also want to check for the Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) that has a voltage requirement of 16 to 24 VAC and a power requirement of 10 to 40 VA. Sometimes I will get a notification from the moment the doorbell is rung and other times there is a lag time of two to three minutes. Not acceptable. I feel like the software was rolled out before it was ready. Most of the time its spot on but sometimes it lags. Lagging from notifications And lagging from picking up people coming to the door. Was very easy to install and setup The app is convoluted and needs to be streamlined.

The notification issues you are experiencing may also be related to the connectivity issue with Nest Doorbell (Battery). Here are some steps you might want to try to isolate the connectivity issue further:
- If your Wi-Fi router is dual band (supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands), we suggest connecting your Nest Doorbell (Battery) to the 2.4GHz band to get a more stable Wi-Fi signal.
- Check your Wi-Fi router's DHCP lease time for at least 2 hours. This can help ensure your Nest products stay connected to your network.
- If you have MAC address filtering enabled, the MAC addresses of your Nest camera must be added to the list of authorized devices.
- Try restarting the Nest Doorbell (Battery). Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the doorbell. Press and hold for 5 seconds. Your doorbell will restart, and the status light will be steady, solid white.

It has correctly identified when a package is being delivered as well as the doorbell itself. Very clear view of my front porch.

I have it wired to my existing doorbell and the process was overall easy. I love that it has seasonal doorbell chimes. It was a big hit during Halloween. My only issue is I wish it had continuous recording. I don't understand why it doesn't record when I view live.
