Great 6e mesh router before competitors

When the new updated Google Mesh router was announced with 6e capabilities which are faster than regular Wi-Fi 6 speed I was excited to see which of my home devices would have increased speeds because of having a fiber Gigabit modem in my home which is a little larger than the recommended square footage of 2200 in the specs. A two-story home can be a challenge with possible dead zones but so far, the new Google Nest Wi-Fi Pro 6e AX5400 Mesh Router has worked remarkably well throughout the home. I was impressed with how easy the setup process was for this latest Mesh system from Google since it basically had simple steps such as plugging in the power and downloading the Google Home app on an Android phone or an iPhone. I had two of the latest models of each type of phone operating system and had the applications already setup. The next step of setting up the Google Mesh system required to scan the QR code on the bottom of the light-colored unit. I tried repeatedly to scan the code with my new iPhone, but it would not recognize the code even with trying to use a flashlight to help illuminate the area. I then was relieved to instantly have success when I used my latest Android phone the Fold 4 which immediately found the code and moved along quickly in the final setup process. I decided to avoid conflicts with my existing fiber Gigabit modem/router and used the same SSID to prevent having to reset the home Wi-Fi settings on the dozens of devices that are connected to it. I was very happy to find that the important system settings in the Google Home app were easy to turn on or off depending on your own home best situation for security and if you can use all of the options such as the WAP3 security if most of your devices are compatible with it. The next option is using the 160 MHz for the maximum 5GHz utilization if all your devices are also compatible with it. The final option that I needed for my own personal system was to turn on IPv6 option since it is faster than the existing IPv4 option. I do not think this is a critical setting for most people unless they intend on using their system for a lot of gaming which would benefit more from the IPv6 option. I put my system through many tests due to the various operating systems and location of the devices plus the fact that some were laptops, iPads, and many streaming items that need plenty of bandwidth. I ran the Speedtest application on my phones and computers in different areas of the house and was pleased with the speeds that the new Google Mesh 6e Router was able to achieve. When I was in close proximity to the new mesh router I had the highest speeds I have ever seen on the two phones which was impressive being between 700-800 mbps. I am very happy with the new router and am pleased to see a new well executed product improvement that will benefit so many people.

The perfect Wi-Fi 6e mesh System for Big Homes

The Google Nest Wi-Fi Pro 6e AX5400 Mesh Router is the perfect mesh Wi-Fi for homes. For the past 5 years I have been using my internet providers router/modem combo and the signal was just not cutting it anymore, since I’ve added several 4K TVs that are all used for streaming. Since installing the Nest Wi-Fi Pro 6e it has been a real eyeopener of just how bad my internet providers router was, immediately I noticed a huge increase in speeds for my Wi-Fi devices. On my old router I was getting about 25-40Mbps over Wi-Fi depending on where I was in my house, with the Nest Wi-Fi Pro 6e AX5400 on the 5g signal I was getting up to 500Mbps and getting 600Mbps when plugged directly into the router to my PC and Xbox. Setup was a breeze in that you download the Google Home app on your phone and hit add new device and just plug router into your modem and follow the steps and boom your good to go. I have ordered the Nest Wi-Fi Pro 6e AX5400 2-pack to give my home better coverage because I still have some weaker signal areas (getting about 100 Mbps now) in my home that I would like to take full advantage of the Nest Wi-Fi Pro 6e AX5400. Do make sure you pair this with a 3.1 Cable modem, so that you get the best possible speeds, because if you get a 3.0 Cable modem you could end up bottle necking your router and not getting the speeds you are paying for. I recommend going with the Arris 3.1 Cable Modems because they work with all the major providers and its easy to set up also. Overall, I highly recommend upgrading to the Google Nest Wi-Fi Pro 6e AX5400 Mesh Router for anyone with a relatively big home to get the best speeds and it’s the best introductory price point for Wi-Fi 6e router, and since its mesh you can just add more of them to get the best possible coverage in home.

I have four of these placed throughout a 3100 square-foot home. The speed is lightning fast. We have multiple devices connected and streaming at the same time without a glitch. The performance is dramatically improved over the first generation. Installation was quick and easy.

The Google home wifi products continue to impress me at every iteration. Even with the age of my older units, they continue to function flawlessly and I didn't think I'd get much out of an upgrade, but I'm happily surprised and impressed. Setup is still simple and being able to interconnect the routers together via hardwire to extend wireless simply is a huge plus to extend wireless to outbuildings and accessory structures. I love automated diagnostics and health checks to make sure all functions are operating correctly and it all reports right to the app! Excellent signal proportion and speeds!

Setup was simple enough, but I did notice it would have trouble booting again after any power outages. It would take about two or three power cycles (unplug and plug in) to finally boot fully. Signal strength and coverage is ok for the price. It's currently placed downstairs in a small townhouse. I have noticed drops in bars on my laptop every so often, but it's bearable. I think there are better options for the money, but the Google ecosystem makes it easy to keep track of and updates are automatic. Great for small homes or apartments, but get a multi pack if you want better performance.

Great little Wi-Fi router has really good range for my cameras around the house. One of the big features is web filtering for the kids straight. Easy forward getting it connected and set up. The only thing I would say negative is that it only has one Ethernet port.

The Google Nest WiFi Pro 6E is a fast, reliable mesh Wi-Fi system with excellent coverage and simple setup through the Google Home app. It supports Wi-Fi 6E and integrates seamlessly with smart home devices via Thread and Matter. While it has limited Ethernet ports and fewer advanced settings, it’s perfect for anyone wanting a straightforward, dependable Wi-Fi system for medium to large homes.

I added this fourth unit to a three-unit set that replaced an older, slower Google Mesh system. The per cost of an incremental unit is very high, but my modest 2200 square foot house (which theoretically should require only one unit, not four) apparently presents some challenges, and my fancy new 4K OLED Samsung TV was stuttering frequently. This unit seems to have mitigated the problem, and the SpeedTest numbers are good. Setup is fairly easy but not intuitive, and the small, faint QR code is almost impossible to scan.

Hey there, Indoree. Happy to hear you had an easy time setting up your Nest Wifi Pro and its range is good for you. That said, we hear you on wanting to connect a CAT5 cable to it. The Nest Wifi Pro includes an Ethernet port and for optimal performance, we advise using at least a CAT5e-rated Ethernet cable for the connection. Just watch for sales. Setup was rather straight forward. I read conflicting info about what few QoS rules and network shaping is available and experienced dismal, unusable performance while using the sole ethernet port. A lengthy support call with google and all seems well. I occasionally have terrible signal strength on Wi-Fi when > 20 steps away and around a corner from the device. Downstairs it has gone from 1/5 signal strength to a slight interruption and suddenly 5/5 strength. Still overall pretty satisfied with it.

Im a big fan of the Google Wi-Fi. I love the ability to do parental controls per device and the status I get. I recently upgraded from the nest Wi-Fi and the setup and functionality is great. I’d give 5 stars if it was not the ugliest thing in my living room. Just having a “normal” whatever brand one with antennas makes you look less cheap. The shiny white plastic with the seam down the middle is almost as good as my 3 year olds storm trooper Halloween costume. I’m likely going to return it and use the older system simply on the face the new one stands out like a sore thumb in any room.

This is the second one that I have purchased. I only had one and while the signal was okay in places in and around my house, I knew it could be better. Setup only took a few clicks through the google home app. Once setup the app knew right away that this was a connection to my other google mesh router. It was very easy to get working properly! I have this one on the opposite side of my house from the other router. The signal is strong and download and upload speeds are strong. I had a prior mesh network from another brand (paid a lot for it) and it was horrible. The hand off between the different mesh routers lacked and I had slower and unstable connections. This one is totally different and works as a mesh network should. I know these are a little expensive, but they really do work great, and I'm not upset about paying for the cost of two to have my home/garage and yard covered with a strong signal.
