This is a very nice tablet. The build quality is amazing, premium touch feeling. As flagship tablet directly from Google, Nexus 9 always have up to date Android version. This LTE version tablet can be used in all 4 major carriers, T Mobile, Version, ATT and Sprint. My family has both T Mobile and Version accounts. It works great on both carriers.

Originally purchased a Samsung 2014 Note. When the updates rolled around it effected the battery life severely. I tried to get it fixed but no one seemed to know how so I purchased the Google Nexus 9. I love how it gets all the latest updates. Runs really well and the battery life is great. I also have the Nexus 5 phone. Love the Google Products!

I almost purchased my first tablet in 2011. But hefty price tags held me back. I didn't think it was the right decision to get it with the hardware specs they were offering. I was also looking for a sweet size spot between 7 and 10-inch screen that would fit in my small bag. This is where this tablet and sweet LolliPOP came along. Yes, there are tablets with 8.9 screen sizes being offered today. My biggest fret is upgradability of their OSes. I've been burnt out previously by other Android phones having originally promised an update then finding out they were dropped from the line-up. (1) Screen The screen seems to be white-washed and not as crisp as I'd like it to be. I would've preferred an increase in pixel density and an integration of a 16:9 instead of the 4:3 ratio. With a 16:9 the films will fill the screen when on landscape mode. Developers may need to update their apps. Most only work on portrait mode (not landscape) under Lollipop. Incompatibilities exist and some older apps crash. (2) Audio I listen to a lot of tunes. The front-facing BoomSound speakers is a good addition, though it's not as impressive as the ones installed on other HTC mobile devices. The bass is not just up to par. I could not find an equalizer setting either (at least during this review). However, they are great for gaming and watching films, but again I'd rather have great audio output for music. (3) Design & Aesthetics It lost 1/2 a star here. The back does attract fingerprints but can easily remedied by wiping with a microfiber cloth. Some owners claim of the back being 'bouncy' or 'loose', but with the tablet I received I didn't have that experience. I suppose HTC fixed that issue after 3 months of production. Most of us are also likely to purchase a tablet cover anyway to protect the back and the screen. I was hoping that the Power & Volume buttons are more tactile. They are too flushed making them hard to feel especially when used in a dimly lit room. As much as this was built and assembled by HTC which by-the-way designs absolutely beautiful phones, Google almost always has the final say on its design implementation -- and it shows on this Nexus 9. It has less pixel density, less tactile buttons and soft matte backing instead of premium metal or aluminium build. (4) Hardware The hardware innards are impressive though (2.3 Ghz Tegra K1 processor paired with 192-core graphics). Gaming and playing films shouldn't be a problem. I wish it had more memory 3GB or so and offered expandable memory for the price you pay. The battery lasted me a day (playing music, web-browsing, having 6-7 apps open at the same time) with about 5 percent left before charging. (5) Software The real star of this device is LolliPOP (caps on the "POP"). It's really sweet! I love what Google developers did! It's fast and fluid. Having this as a Nexus device, you know it's stock Android without the bloatware. There's more attention to details and features. I am still finding tons of them. Knowing that it will receive the OS updates quickly compared to other Android devices gives me a greater peace of mind. (6) Price Again, it lost a 1/2 star here. It's pricey regardless whether it's the WiFi or LTE version. For the price it's selling for, I would've preferred a more premium material similar to what HTC used in their M7s & M8s phones. The lack of expandable removable storage is also something amiss. If you were to buy an Android tablet, this is it if you don't mind paying extra. You don't have to wait long for the OS updates. HTC designs beautiful products. Though I wish they had more control over it. LolliPOP though is where it shines.

it actually feels a tad bit slower than the Nexus 7 2013...weird right? The screen is beautiful and it runs lollipop 5.0 It lags opening youtube and some other apps and its just not super snappy. Other than its a great tablet. Battery life is decent as well.

Just as advertised, this tablet is so fast and smooth. Great graphics, great battery life, and unlike the Nexus 7, perfect size to complement your smartphone. Lollipop is not a major change on how it's used, so adapting to it took just a few minutes (assuming you're used to Android already). The only issue is as of right now, you can only activate it on T-Mobile. I purchased my from the Google Play store since their pre-orders actually had a ship date since early Dec. But now that I have it in hand, and have Verizon Wireless service, I'm stuck with using it WiFi only. Verizon doesn't have this tablet in their system yet since they don't have the tablet on their site. As a result they can't activate it and have no date yet. With my Nexus 7 LTE when it first came out it took 3 months before Verizon would activate it. I hope it's not the same here. So be warned, if you're buying the LTE version, be sure to make sure it's available on your carrier's site as well, otherwise, just be prepared that you won't get cellular coverage until then.
