Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the excellent camera quality and the ease of use as major pros. The sleek design and light weight also receive positive feedback, while the large screen is appreciated by some. However, many users cite short battery life as a significant drawback, along with the lack of expandable storage.

    Great phone

This is my first smartphone and I love it. Found out the hard way that if you delete any of the apps that come with the phone it goes into emergency call mode and has to be rebooted and all my info was lost. Battery only last half a day.

The review title really means what the phone is. Amazing power, stylish looks and awesome sleek design. I really love my Nexus S. The dual (front+back) camera is very helpful (though some may describe it as awesome). Battery life is pretty good despite using WiFi and NFC. Overall, I would definitely rate it the best smartphone in the market today.

This is a well-designed and sleek phone. I switched from a Blackberry and would not go back. As a Google mail, calendar, apps user, the integration is excellent. I bought the unlocked version, was able to switch my AT&T sim card into the phone and was up an running in minutes. My only wish is that I could get the a higher speed (3G or better) network on a different carrier than T-Mobile. T-Mobile's coverage is not very good in my area. The AT&T Edge (2G) network works fine with the phone, but is slower. Much of the time I am within range of WiFi, so the 2G isn't too much of an inconvenience. Only thing I miss is the stronger vibrate mode of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 I had previously. Overall, an excellent phone. No problems with battery life--lasts all day, no problem.

    Pure Android at its finest

I upgraded to the Nexus S from a Nexus One, and I'm 100% satisfied with my decision. The Nexus One had many issues (mostly touchscreen-related), and the Nexus S completely fixes all of those problems. The end result is that the experience of using my phone has been vastly improved after upgrading. If you're wondering whether or not to get an Android phone, I say GO FOR IT. And get the Nexus S because it's one of the few phones that features Google's pure version of the Android OS. Most other carriers and manufacturers add their own customized "skins" to Android, making it clunky and unwieldy. This is pure Android at its finest.

    Good Android for beginner

I could sync all my contacts from the old Nokia phone, even though it takes a couple of tries. The interface was nice and fast but so easy to mis-typed. Big bonus is the upgrade to Android Icecream Sandwich. Battery is 36hrs, with Bluetooth and Wifi off, which is a bummer.

    - Battery life is decent. Easily get by for the whole day but would not make it two days without a charge. - No problems with voice quality. Speaker phone is great. No bluetooth issues. Data quality seems reasonable. - Took quite a bit of effort to change the APN and other network specific details for here in Canada.

    Phone feels Plastic

    Posted .

Using previous phones like the N97 Tmobile dash Iphone and currently the Nokia N900. I like to feel that a phone is soundly made . Even though I love the fact that the Android OS has over 200,000 apps to chose from I expected a better feel from the Samsung Nexus. Even though the display rivals the best out there the Phone feels light and plastic (cheap) in my hand. Phone is great for Apps Good for photo and Videos and a great viewing screen. But the lightweight plastic like material , and no memory slot is enough for me to return this item although small quirks to some but too much for me to justify price paid.

The most amazing thing about the phone is it's design. It's for now the best android phone out there. Best thing: Free tethering (use your phone as a wifi modem) Only one bad thing: It's not 4G

The best unlocked Google phone yet.

While only a bit better than the Nexus One, it is still an improvement with great features. As to the battery issues some are seeing, I experience roughly 15 hours of battery life with active 3G and WiFi usage. Bluetooth does draw power so be sure to turn that off if not needed. I upgraded from my Nexus One and absolutely love it!

Good except for wifi and reboots

Moved from Nexus 1. Marginally better, except for random reboots (arghh, a fix better come out), poor wifi radio vs. Nexus One and sometimes GPS is slow to lock, but not always. On whole, assuming the reboot problem is fixed, marginally better than Nexus One. I wouldn't have a problem going back to the Nexus One however, so not that great an upgrade after a year of waiting for it...

Alot of people rate low for battery life but thats because of the apps they allow to run. I use an automatic task killer & use Live Wallpaper and by the end of the day the battery is still around 50%. The only real con for me was no SD card input but I can live without it.

Aside from the lack of a physical Keyboard, SD card support and 4G support, this phone is really amazing!! Fast and Responsive! Massive internal memory and Gingerbread is wicked clean and cool! This phone is the perfect replacement for my old G1

I really, REALLY, wanted to like this phone. I am on T-Mobile and had been using an unlocked iPhone but wanted to switch to something that is 'native' on T-Mo's network. I absolutely LOVED the screen. Really vibrant, gorgeous display. But the rest of the phone is sub-par. The first few days the phone worked as it should have. There was an update for the phone that was done over the air and after that, things just didn't work. The web pages wouldn't load at all; I checked the setting and I was supposed to have access to browse the internet but nothing would load. It would always default to a standard T-Mo 'unable to connect' page. T-Mo verified that I have access to browse but the phone just wouldn't work. Wi-Fi reception was extremely poor. I would be standing 3 feet in front of an access point and it just wouldn't connect - timed out before getting a DHCP IP address from the router. My wife's iPhone had no problems in connecting her phone to the network. And it just wasn't the home network. had the same issue at work. And finally, I don't know if it was the phone but ever since I got the phone, I would have issues with other computers/devices connecting to the network. Ever since I returned the phone, those issues have 'magically' disappeared. I also had issues with the battery life - I had the phone die out on my twice. People talk about the iPhone not having a great battery life but I never had it die out on me. Ever. Finally, while I truly believe that the Android is a VERY viable alternative to the iPhone, my perception is that it just not quite as polished as the iPhone. I truly wanted to like this phone but in the end, I don't think it was the right one for me. Maybe in a few months?

Unfortunately I had to return the phone due to poor T-Mobile service at my home, but had it not been for that this is the best Android phone that I have tried. Not only is the display gorgeous but the best part is that the carrier has nothing to do with the Nexus phones so there isn't a bunch of garbage or a custom interface installed and Google pushes out the latest updates as soon as they're available.
