The Pixel 5 seemed to be exactly what I was looking for which is why I paid full original retail price on a phone that has already been discontinued. Anyways....... Got everything copied to the 5 (was super easy using the built-in tool) and got it activated. Calls and texts worked both ways, seemed to have no issues. Unfortunately this device suffers from the same problem at my Pixel 3 developed later in life. Texts that were sent to me after I turned my device off for the night do NOT come through once I turn it back on. After spending 2 hours with Verizon tech support, they told me to not turn my phone off, use their text messaging app, and/or to buy a different phone. Not sure if the problem is on Verizon's end, or the device. In the end it doesn't matter since you can't have one without the other.

Went in to buy an unlocked phone, was sold a locke

Fortunately it was to my carrier in the U.S., but now I am outside the country with a phone I can't use. The product itself is great (whichever carrier you choose wouldn't change that), but I am writing this review to warn people. This seems to be a common incident looking it up online. Be warry wehn purchasing phones from Best Buy.

Worked well until last week and then turned into a brick after accomplishing a recommended Android 12 software update. Difficult experience after that working with google "support" to get anything done. Still waiting on them to get back to me on a warranty refund. Looks like I'm switching to iPhone wish me luck.
