Drop calls
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want a nice phone with nice features that drops 50 percent of the calls then this is the phone for you.I Paid 159 for Geek squad protection and they want to charge me a 150 deductible to send me back a refurbished phone when Verizon wireless and Google say it is a device issue and the phone should be replaced with new device.

Pixel > iPhone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got the Pixel yesterday, so I'll just start with the obvious stuff. First off, the camera. Google promoted the camera as being the best ever on a smartphone, and it didn't disappoint. The low light pictures that it takes are the best I've seen. We took a side by side picture with the Pixel versus an iPhone 6. First off, the Pixel takes pictures a lot faster and second the clarity and quality was vastly improved. The design of the Pixel is every intuitive and as expected it integrates very well with Google. The layout of the phone is easy to adapt to. The one exception to this might be the fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. That felt a little awkward at first. Switching from an iPhone to the Pixel, Google could not have made it simpler. They included an adaptor with the phone so after I removed the SIM card from my old iPhone and put it in the Pixel, I was able to connect the two phones and transfer all of my contacts, pictures, music, etc. Bottom line, the design and functionality are there and the speed and camera put it over the top. Google did it right with this one.

Perfectly Powerful Phone
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this phone on launch day and I was very excited. First of all, it was well packaged and came with different connectors so you can charge it either with a traditional wall outlet or by USB. I like that because you don't have to pay extra for a different cable. Out of the box, the phone seemed a little heavy to me for some reason, but I quickly adjusted and it feels good in my hand. It's sleek and stylish, although I would rather have complete silver on the back instead of silver with the white. To me, that doesn't look right. There was a hiccup connecting the phone to the network but I believe that was due to it being launch day. The problem resolved itself overnight and things have been speeding along nicely. I chose to download my apps myself instead of moving them over in a clump so I could choose which I wanted. When scrolling up to see your apps, they are alphabetized nicely. However, when you swipe left to see them, they aren't and so far, I haven't found a way to fix it. The call quality is great so far. I live in a rather small area and the signal strength is great even inside where signal is normally an issue. The pictures look stunning, although the zoom tends to lag, at least for me. It may just take some getting used to. Google assistant worked perfectly first time out after I trained it for my voice and speech, which by the way doesn't take but a minute to do. I tried various little things with it and I like it a lot. Overall, I think Google hit a home run with this phone. There's no lag or delay. You tap or ask and it does. Perfect!

Some cool differentiating features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As far as the basics of the phone go, it's quite capable. The screen is sharp, the camera takes good pictures, and the processor is quick. It's not the top of the line at anything, but it holds it's own against the competition. The thing that makes this a better Android phone, in my opinion, are the Google assistant features. There's one for migrating your information over from your old iPhone that works surprisingly well. Another nice surprise is the photo assistant. After importing your library of photos from both your camera roll and your messages, it takes pictures that were shot together and turns them into animations or panoramas. The one annoying thing is the placement of the fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. It's not such a big deal when you're pulling the phone out of your pocket, and may even be an advantage in that situation, but it's a pain when your phone is plugged in and laying on your desk, and you have to pick it up to reach the sensor. It's a minor quibble, but it's the one thing that stood out to me as a design flaw.

Do not buy this PHONE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this phone in November 2016 and writing review on 2nd April 2017. Please I request you all to not to spend so much on this phone. It is just worthless. Reasons: 1. Charging takes more then 3 hours. Sometimes it shows 6 hours to charge from 20% to 100%. 2. Phone hangs many a times. Literally hangs. Gets restart on its own. 3. Many a times while using app it shows error and forces app to close. 4. Battery gets drain like water flows. Maximum 10-12 hrs battery if you don't use phone like use only to answer phone calls that's it. Need to find a way to get a refund. I do not want a replacement as I have already replaced this phone once. I am not an IPhone fan so I don't prefer Iphone, I am an Android guy, but i guess this phone will force me to buy me an Iphone as I would have got an easy service for my IPhone. There service is also pain in a*s. Thanks for wasting my hard earned $864 and KIDNEY lol..

Google is on to something....Didn't quite make it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was sent the phone to test out and I will say Google is on to something they're just not quite there.... The camera is amazing and has great features especially the panorama view and the sphere picture option. I'm a Samsung user and it is way different for me and it wouldn't be my first choice. I miss having a home button and the placement of the buttons are awkward as well as the personalization just isn't there unless of course your root the phone which Google phones are great for. The voice assistant is ok, better then I thought and helpful she's very interesting once you get to know her. The phone looks very similar to a iPhone everyone who saw it thought it was a iPhone with no power button. My favorite feature would be the fingerprint reader on the black. Great placement very helpful. The speaker is terrible. Playing music on full volume it sounded strained. My feelings are definitely mixed.. Great features but I wouldn't pay money for it or trade my Samsung any time soon for it

Great Phone with minor issues
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the phone and could not wait to get it charged and working. turned it on and got it activated in short amount of time. Few things to point out before someone gets it home and has some problems. Good: Fast interface, great speed, fantastic wifi, bluetooth is strong, size it perfect for medium to large hands, activating was quick and file transfer was flawless. Bad: Slight screen shimmer when pulling menu down, no home button on the phone to wake it up (have to use power button), buttons are little to recessed to make it a simple one handed operation, no external storage option (sd card), no all apps work yet since it is 7.1 android and everyone else is still 6.0+, small height does make it slighty slippery to grab and hold on to. Ugly: not as many options to configure on the phone to make it unique (like alert lights, screen themes and easy to find settings), lack of many sounds that are stock for phone, emails, etc. I can whole hardheartedly recommend this phone to all friends and family. This is a giant step forward for what will become a benchmark for others to achieve down the road. It this is what Google is putting out now, I wonder what they have planned for the future.

Pretty Good
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received the Google Pixel XL phone about a week ago and I must say, Google did a pretty awesome job on this device. Very sleek and stylish like another phone I have in mind (which shall remain nameless). This is a very solid device and feels nice in my hands. Phone came partially charged which was great, gave me enough time to test it out and see what I love about it. Very strong signal as this model is particularly made for the strongest network available today. It connected to both my home and work networks flawlessly without any issues. Love that it comes with the new USB-C standard charging cable. Battery life is awesome, but what I really love about this device is the amazing camera. The camera is by far, nothing less than phenomenal. Photos are crisp clear and very sharp. I almost rather prefer using this as a camera device based strictly on how beautiful the photos it takes. Kudos to Google and their team of engineers on a very good device. Call quality again is a nod to the great network its made for. The touch sensor on the back is also amazing and placed just in the right place. Once again, awesome device, and great for those who doesn't like the other major platform, or those whose are strictly partial to Google/Android.

Best Android experience period.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Samsung Galaxy user (S3, S5, Note 4, S6) and this Pixel is by and far a smoother more enjoyable experience. While Samsung likes to boast the best numbers on paper, it means nothing when the experience on the phone is glitchy after 6 months of use. Not to mention updates take forever. That said, I picked up this Pixel XL on a cyber monday deal that was too good to pass up. The phone is fast, lasts all day under heavy use and seamlessly synced up with all my Google stuff. The camera is fantastic and free storage is a huge plus. The speaker certainly isn't the best, but it is adequate since I am not using it as a main music player. I wanted the Pixel 2 XL originally, but I am more than happy with this purchase especially since the deal was only 5$ a month. Can't beat it with such a sweet phone.

Best Android phone to date
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used various Android phones over the years and currently using an iPhone 6 Plus. This phone is easily the best phone out in terms of specs and performance in terms of what I have seen so far. The phone is very quick since there is no skin overlay like Touchwiz over it and the camera is the best I have personally used so far on a phone though I wish it took 12.3 megapixel pictures in 16:9 instead of 4:3. The screen is gorgeous but I am biased toward AMOLED screens and this does have everything that makes AMOLED great ( or bad depending on who you are) like Deep blacks and those popping colors. The one thing I personally don't "love" about this phone and this I guess is just an issue with me and Android phones in general is the battery life is ok. I can manage to get a whole days worth but my iOS devices have lasted a lot longer.

Not what I expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone was to replace a Galaxy phone. Based on the reviews I was hoping that the transition would be easy and I would really like this phone. That didn't happen. It did not connect well with the Bluetooth system in my car, I could not adapt to the somewhat significant differences in functionality, etc. I ended up taking it back and getting another Galaxy phone. Best Buy was GREAT in helping me through everything.

Google phones are here!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am really impressed. I have always been an iOS user and could never even imagine leaving until now. The Google Pixel has for the most part been a seamless transition. The one thing that stands out is the clarity of calls. The Pixel has a much clearer speakerphone which is probably why I will stick with this phone. Another big plus is how fast the phone opens from sleep. Once you use the fingerprint sensor, the screen lights up and is ready to use in an instant. Overall, a fun phone that is easy to use. It has a good feel and you can tell it is well built by the feel and weight. Goggle has hit a home run with the Pixel XL!!

Super fast, clean, no bloatware, great cameras
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using iPhone 7 Plus and another Android device that runs on Marshmallow 6.01. Google Pixel XL run on Android Nougat 7.1. I am not getting into the OS comparison as it is always better when they bring new version. It is super clean, fast and moreover, no bloatware installed other than MyVerizon App. Google Pixel XL is "the best" Android phone I have used so far. Pros: + CAMERA - No matter what apple did with their hardware upgrade in terms of cameras on iPhone 7 / 7 Plus, Google Pixel XL has killed it. Yes, the best phone cameras I have ever used with ultimate picture quality, thanks Google! I do not want to publish my selfies, but the selfies I took with both iPhone 7 Plus and Google Pixel XL says it all. Also the pictures took with rear camera are much brighter, depth in colors and resolution than iPhone. I have made few video calls to same folks using iPhone and Pixel XL, all they were amazed to see the difference. It looks like I am not going to use my iPhone for video conversations anymore :D +OS - much better in every aspect than the previous version. I had to take One star off for the following cons: - SOUND - No stereo sound. Also the sound quality is not at par for a new generation phone compared to my old Samsung Android phone. - Location is of the finger print scanner is not my favorite place. - Look: You won't see not visible difference at a first glance if you keep your iPhone and Pixel side to side besides touch sensor is missing on Pixel. ;) - Carrier - Verizon couldn't activate the phone on my account. Later they found that Google sent me a GSM version (CDMA Locked) with a verizon SIM card in it. No big deal - easy fix. Other than few short comings of Google Pixel XL, I would highly recommend this phone if you are Android fan. Go get it and take a lot of selfies that you never seen before :)) Over all I am very much satisfied with Google Pixel XL.

Excellent phone! Impressive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is great! I was impressed from the minute I opened the box. The packaging was nice, neat and included more than expected as far as wires and adapters. The phone itself is beautiful. Screen sensitivity really matters to me and I am more than impressed with this one. Just as important to me is screen quality and this phone exceeds competitors in that category. Sound quality of the speaker is also great. But possibly my favorite feature of this phone is the camera. I only wish it had more options to manually change settings, but the fact that the back camera records in 4k makes up for that, its simply great. Lastly, the keyboard takes a bit of getting used to, but that is really the only thing I have not loved on this phone yet.

Amazing phone, best out there!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned the iPhones which I loved, and 2 of the Samsung Galaxy Phones which I loved. In the past I have felt that the iPhone and Apple ecosystem were far ahead of Android. However, I lost faith recently when Apple stopped being innovative and started to just release the same thing over and over. Most recently I had the iPhone 6 and then the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Both were great phones, but I feel that this phone is way ahead of both of those phones. This phone is just simply instantaneously fast and responsive. The camera is absolutely amazing and you can't beat the unlimited FREE full resolution pictures and 4K video cloud storage. The phone feels sturdy yet feels lighter than the iPhone. It's smaller than the iPhone plus as well! The fingerprint scanner is great and very responsive as well. It comes down to this.....this is by far the best phone I have ever owned, and I hope Google continues to release new Pixels each year, because I'm a hooked customer now.

iPhone 6+ to Pixel XL
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First I have to admit there’s some adjustment going from iOS to Android. Some things I like better, some things not so much…or it’ll take time to get used to. Google makes porting your phone over easy, no matter if it’s an Android or iPhone. They supply an USB-to-USB-C adapter so you can connect the two phones via the charge cable. It copied everything I wanted without issue. I didn’t transfer music during the setup but rather downloaded the iTunes app for Android. The phone is marketed as for use on Verizon. Before getting a prepaid sim card though, I put in my AT&T card and it works with no problem. The major issue I’ve experienced though is I don’t have visual voicemail with my AT&T card. I do with Verizon though. I also noticed, surprisingly, that the signal reception seems to be stronger on AT&T than it does with Verizon. If you believe the commercials, then this is surprising. I live on the south side of Atlanta, btw. Physically the phone feels good in the hands. It’s slight smaller than the iPhone 6+ I own. Not having a physical home button on the face will take some getting used to. With the phone laying on its back, I’m used to just pushing the home button and finger print reading. With the Pixel’s design, you have to press the side button, which means grasping the phone so you don’t just push it to the left. Then you have to enter your lock pattern. So a little more complexity using your phone from the off screen than I’m used to…when lying flat. When holding the phone, this fingerprint reader is handier. And swiping up/down on it to get your drop down screen is a nice touch. Design wise it does look pretty similar to an iPhone from the front. From the back, I’m not sure how I feel about the use of different material on the top Call quality seems decent. Nothing spectacular, or worse, that what I’m used to on iPhone. Photos do look nicer on the Pixel overall, but it could be argued that’s more of personal opinion. I like that warmer tone of the photos though. The rest of the “differences” are primarily due to operating systems so I won’t go into though. You live in an iOS or Android world for one reason or another, so not like anything I say will move your needle.
