Customers recognize the Pixel XL 32GB's superior camera quality, excellent battery life, and fast fingerprint reader as significant strengths. Many also appreciate its ease of use and the helpful Google Assistant. However, some users express concerns about the limited internal storage and lack of expandable memory. The absence of water resistance and some design preferences were also noted as potential drawbacks.

My fiancee has always been an iPhone geek. I've always avoided it. Over the years I found solace in purchasing Samsung phones and immediately rooting them to remove all the bloatware and avoid OS updates that would otherwise brick the phone. Which is why I am in so much love with this google phone. I purchased the XL because the PIXEL was too small for me (smaller than my s5). The OS runs like a dream, the functionality is simplistic yet sleek, and the auto photo backup has been a dream. Oh yeah, and the speed charge has made my daily commute to and from work much more enjoyable (no more battery conserving in case of an emergency!) My only two warnings are:
1) Screenshots require you to hit the POWER and DOWN VOLUME at once, which is really clunky and impossible to pull off if your phone is in a case.
2) The non-removable memory is a bummer, but I am hoping the photo back up allows me to avoid maxing out my memory.

This is the 2nd of these devices we purchased for my family and interestingly, this device did not show the connectivity issues that the black version did. I have not had a single issue with this phone. Lightning speed, no bloat, and the battery life is excellent.
Make sure you update Android to 7.1.1 out of the box.

Google's pure Android device is a solid phone. Blazing speed, zero bloat, and excellent battery life. The only catch is that I had trouble keeping my device connected to the LTE/cellular networks for Verizon. Signal would sporatically drop out. However, Android 7.1.1 update seems to have fixed that issue. Just be advised, out of the box, you may have some connectivity issues.
Other than that, I LOVE this phone.

I have always been a Samsung phone guy but decided to try the Pixel xl. Wasn't sure that I would be happy with such a big phone, but now I don't think I will ever go back to a small one. The camera is amazing and the screen is very sharp.

Although a bit pricey, the Pixel is an amazing Android phone. One of the greatest. Awesome battery life (I can go all day with screen time exceeding 4-5 hours), Camera is AWESOME, and the Android experience is quick and seamless. If you're willing to spend $650+ on an Android phone, definitely get this one.

It takes excellent photos, even in low light. It performs so well I have taken to using it often for driving apps, as an ebook reader and for gaming. Linked with Google apps make it a real winner. And because it's from Google it gets the latest android system updates immediately.

Phone with stock Android from Google

Biggest reason to get this phone is stock android. at least in my opinion. direct updates as soon as they are released (no waiting for carriers/manufactures versions) no bloatware. everything made for the everyday user while giving you all that you need to make the device tailored to your own needs. camera is great as well but most phones nowadays will have very good cameras for video/photos. only real issue is the speaker. it only works on one side of the two speaker spaces at the bottom of the device so it doesnt have a stereo type sound so if your stream media from the phone, use speakers. same goes for the sound outta headphones. (unless you can control the sound quality through the headphones themselves) but this is my favorite phone so far. and you cant go wrong with this.

I was hoping to get a note 7 but we all see how that went. After I heard about this phone I decided to give it a shot and am glad I did. It runs smooth as silk. I haven't had any of the problems I've had in the past. I do wish they still had a SD cards slot but those seem to be a thing of the past.

Awesome phone but came with an external speaker issue. Volume won't increase past a whisper. I have been told they are working on a fix. Blazing fast phone, beautiful screen and perfect size. Shame the speaker prevented a 5 star rating.

Hands down the best Android I've had to date. Very fast between apps. The camera is excellent. The battery lasts for what seems like forever at times. When I'm down to 15% battery I still know I have about 4 hours of battery life left or more if I am not using it constantly.

Battery life is really solid, so is the camera. Much better in well lit areas than an iPhone 6s, and just a little better than an iPhone 7 in most cases. After Oreo update battery is not as strong, and camera can take 5 or more seconds to load from lock screen. Cache clearing did not fix, have to do a full factory reset and see if that helps.

Pictures from this phone are phenomenal. Learning to use it was easier than expected, although there are still things I have not figured how to complete. The XL is larger and therefore heavier but I don't make as many typing mistakes b/c the letters are spaced better than most phones. Would recommend this to others and would purchase same product again.

I have had the phone for about a month now and it is the best phone I have had. It is not perfect but is better than the Samsung Galaxy's I have owned and the Iphone 7 I have used. Let’s review some of the key points :
Construction - It is all metal and glass. The back is different, glass on top and metal on bottom. It is thicker than I expected. Not that it is too thick, I just expected something along the lines of an Iphone 7 or Ipad Air 2. It is about 20% thicker than an Iphone 7. The bezel on the top and bottom is much larger than I expected and one of the things I do not like about the phone. It is a little over 1/2 an inch. I just do not not understand, there are no touch buttons on the bottom but the top has the front facing camera and some other necessary camera sensors so it looks like wasted space. Perhaps there is some internal reason to have the space but I would have used the bezel real estate for front facing speakers like the HTC ( which is ironic since HTC makes the Google Pixel.)
Software - no bloatware, just fully Android optimized goodness. Since it is the first phone that designed by Google to work with Android, everything works flawlessly. The best is the new Google Assistant – it is simply great. This is what I really like on the phone , it really sells the phone and blows away anything on the market. Google Assistant is Google's latest version of a virtual assistant. Yes, the Android phones and tablets have Google Now – but this is far more that "Ok Google" voice controls. It is almost conversational. Voice recognition is consistent and accurate. The A.I. behind it blows away Siri.
Camera - the pictures you get with this phone are as good if not better than dedicated point and shoot digital cameras. I tested it in multiple conditions and everything came out great. I can honestly say the camera produced the best pictures I have ever seen from a phone. Video was impressive as well. There is some type of image stabilization built in and it really eliminates camera shake. I am not sure if it is all software based or hardware and software but it really works well. Outside photos are breathtaking, you cannot beat it.
Storage – the model I received has 32 gb. Google is trying to tout their cloud storage but 32 gb is just not quite enough, especially since there is no micro SD slot. Go for the 128 gb option and you will be better off. Google gets a thumbs down for not making a 64 gb version. Google you should know better than this and is one of the reasons it did not get 5 stars.
Battery and charging - Talk time is fantastic. I decided to not charge the phone to see how it lasts. With standard use, I did not have to charge it for nearly two days. With heavy use, it still lasted over a day. Impressive. Charging is very fast. I drained down the battery to only a few percent and it charged in to 100% in about 90 minutes. No wireless charging.
Screen - The screen has it's strong points and it's weak points. The colors absolutely pop and it looks better than an Iphone and it looks even better than the smaller Google Pixel that I saw in a store. I do not know if the smaller Pixel has a different screen but I could see a difference. I did find that the screen it not as bright as I would like , it is noticeable in a bright enviroment ( like sunny day. ) I would say the Samsung Galaxy S7 is slightly better and the Iphone is a notch down ( not by much.)
Performance – this is hard for the average user to quantify it does not make sense to go over testing. What I can say it there was no lag whatsover for switching between apps, video playback , games etc. I could not even make the phone slow down regardless of what I tried. Forget about looking at benchmarks – there is more than enough power for all users here. Technology is reaching the upper limits of what is noticeable in power in phones so there is no concern here.
Overall, I recommend the phone . There are some minor quibbles but no deal breakers. The Pixel XL would have gotten 5 stars if there was expandable storage and the screen was brighter. One note, the phone is water resistant but not at the level of the other flagships phones from Apple and Samsung. I do not think it is a big deal but I have no way of testing it so keep that in mind if it is important to you. Regardless, do not buy this phone for the specs, buy it for Google software and Google eco system , it is flawless. Don't get me wrong, the camera is the best of the best and battery life is good but it is the Google Assistant that I really like. The XL might be a bit big for some so look to the smaller Pixel version if you have small hands. You will get the same performance for the most part. Regardless of which one you get, make sure to get the 128 gb version, the 32gb is not enough ( after transferring all my programs and info over, I have 16 gb left and think that will eventually fill up. ) This is a an example of great first generation technology by Google, get the phone and you will not be disappointed.

I purchased this originally november of 2016, and just recently(9/2017) had the Vibrate function of the phone fail(seems like the weight and the motor separated). Had geek squad replace the phone, and they found that the phone replacement program was on back order. They then helped me out by replacing my broken phone with a new Pixel XL(not refurbished), SUPER PLEASED.
