Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

It is perfect for most. My only criticism is that for those of us that like to "fine tune" every setting while configuring their wifi...well those are hard to find and some settings you simply can't change. That said, this was the easiest wifi router I've ever set up. I cannot get an old tablet to connect...which is how I found I cannot change the security setting...but every other device was easy. There is no lag during the hand-off from one mesh receiver to the next (as there was with my old repeater). The phone app is easy and allows control while away....I'm getting one for Mom too, no more confusing phone calls on how to reset "the blue thing"!

We have a fairly connected home (30+ devices) and an in-residence gaming major. Have had numerous top of the line Netgear products plus extenders and have struggled to have a seamless wi-fi experience throughout the house (and even right next to the router) for years. Saw Google WiFi at the store and thought, this is cheaper, can it actually be better? Short answer - yes. Simple set up and great service throughout the house. No problem with online gaming while streaming on another device and WiFi is still strong. App is super simple and with the recent addition of site blocking it fulfills all our family's needs. Very happy with this product.

The Google Wifi system is incredible. Easy to setup, fast as can be, amazing coverage, and so many control features.
The setup is a breeze. You download the app and it walks you through every step. I would consider myself a techie but I believe this would be fairly simple for most people to setup.
This WiFi mesh setup keeps 20+ devices connected with ease. We have four children (three are teenagers) and they all require a lot of bandwidth. Google handles all our data needs.
We were using a Nighthawk router before the Google setup. The nighthawk was fast but my biggest problem was with the coverage area. Google has it figured out. Three WiFi points that seamlessly work together as one meshed network. Wherever we go in the house it transfers your connection to the strongest point in the network. There is no miss in the transfer. You will never even know you’ve gone from one point to the other.
One of the best features is the parental controls. I have “non-electronic” times scheduled in the app. You can choose which devices will be affected and setup groups of devices. If it’s dinner time and you want the kids off the network, you can just pull out your phone or grab your tab and “pause” their internet connection. Set it for half an hour or 72 minutes, you can choose any amount. Or you can just unpause it when you choose.
There are other “mesh” networks like this out there but for the money you cannot beat Google. I’m not sure why anyone would pay nearly double for a similar product.

We love Google WIFI. We have a large 2 story home with lots of rooms. We put one pod on upper level, one in basement and one on mail level. Signal and speeds are great on all levels. We had a nice router before but did not compare to this system. Was very easy to set up via an app. Also an test the speed and system performance very easy with the app. Overall very happy even at 279 bucks which is a little steep but needed good WIFI.

Very easy to set up. Improve speed and connection of all WiFi. Much improve. Before google WiFi I had an ok signal through the house. But when we played WiFi items they would freeze or skip. Once set up google WiFi everything connects smoothly and everything is running at top speed. Worth it. Google WiFi checks the connects on its own and reports back if everything is ok.

I live in a three story townhouse with rather large floors. I have Verizon FiOS Quantum, and I was running with a router in the basement (where the line came in) and then an extender on the top floor. The coverage wasn't great, so I decided to try out a Google WiFi mesh network. Now my WiFi coverage is worlds' better!
Setup on the Google side was incredibly easily. Depending on your needs, it can be as simple as plugging it into your Verizon FiOS router and going through the straightforward setup in your app. Mine was a little more complicated because I wanted to put my FiOS router in bridge mode to avoid double NAT, but the average user won't need to do this. The app is incredibly easy to use and has a lot of great features, including testing the location of each router to make sure the mesh has good coverage, setting a guest network, configuring advanced setups (a feature that was recently added), and getting alerts when the internet goes down.
I ended up placing one on each floor, and with the setup app's help, I was able to find the ideal placement to cover the entire house. They've really thought of a lot of little details too, like being able to dim or turn off the blue light on the router if you place one in a bedroom or somewhere where the light might be undesirable.
All in all, it was a great user experience, and if you need more than one router to cover your house, I'd highly recommend checking out Google WiFi!

I picked up a pack of 3 access points, using my Cat 5 wiring placed them through the house to cover the blind spots in coverage that I had for a single access point. We have good coverage throughout the house. Easy to set up, and you can monitor and remedy most issues on your mobile device while away from your wifi.
Gives a set of statistics on Wifi consumption by the device over a time period. Great way of estimating how much bandwidth you are using, especially when the cable company starts to charge for internet use based upon consumption. And you can see your actual download and upload speeds.

A Must Have To Boost Your Wi-Fi

I live in an apartment that is approx 1,100 sq feet. I have Verizon Fios for internet and I have the 1 GB plan. When I did a speed test on my phone before getting the Google Wi-Fi, I would only get about 20 MBs up and down on a good day. Our firestick directly next to the router (in the bedroom) would buffer when we try to stream Direct TV Now and/or Playstation Vue especially when I am playing PS4 online (hard wired) at the same time and the one in the living room is not even worth trying to use. I felt like this was a joke. Why am I paying for 1 GB of internet when I still have buffering?!?!?! I even ordered an extender from Fios but that did not help much. I decided it was time to look for other ways to boost the Wi-Fi and came across the Google Wi-Fi.
After setting it up in the bedroom (very easy setup that took about 5 mins), the 1st thing I did was run a speed test on my phone. I was expecting it to be better but I did not expect to see the numbers I got. My download and upload were both well over 600 MBs. I went into the living room to run the test again and the numbers were very similar. I played my PS4 that night while my lady was watching Direct TV Now and there was no buffering and that was before I set the firestick to have priority of the internet (a cool feature you can set from the app).
Get the Google Wi-Fi if you are experiencing slow Wi-Fi in your home and/or dead spots in your home. It WILL make a difference!

recently moved into a larger one story home that spreads out. I knew my current wifi setup wouldn't work so looked for something that could cover my whole house and not worry about switching to multiple wifi extenders. This was a breeze to setup and love how it tests the strength, I have a strong signal even out into the front and back yards. I don't have any dead spots in my house. I also like the feature to control which devices have access to wifi, a simple selection can turn wifi on or off for any connected device, very helpful with the kids. Happy with and would recommend this product.

The google wifi system is a great replacement for redundant routers and users who have range extenders set up in there home. The product is easy to set up. The built in self healing feature prevents signal loss through out your house. Whether you are an IT profession like myself or the average consumer you will love the Google Home Wifi System. For parents looking to monitor there kid's internet usage or even restrict there axcess to websites this product is perfect. The google wifi app lets you check in on your Wifi away from home and even shows you who is connected and actively browsing.

We have struggled for a while now with pool internet connectivity throughout the house (3,000 sq/ft) particularly while in the basement or while multiple devices are streaming online videos. Despite reading through all the review, I had my reservations. But I thought let's give it a try and see if it makes any difference. And now I must say that the investment it worth every penny. The system is proportionally distributing speed and signal strength throughout the house and we haven't had any problem streaming a movie while kids are watching YouTube cartoons or playing Xbox. Great product!

Saved me $1300 a year

The past two years, we've bought and tried to fix our Wifi problems using the Amped Wireless REA20 700mW High Power Dual Band AC Wi-Fi Range Extender and Amped Wireless Powerline Nano AV500 1-Port Network Adapter Kit. Neither of which helped solved our multiple Wifi problems: how do we get Wifi in the front rooms (living room and dining room) and back rooms (kitchen and bedrooms) and maybe even that garage office/back house apartment ALL AT THE SAME TIME without having to pay $115 extra for a second modem in the later?
It didn't seem like there was an answer to that problem until I discovered Google Wifi. I was so impressed by Google Wifi that I returned my Apple Airport products the next day. I set up the first Google Wifi single point in the living room right next to my Time Warner Cable modem/router and plugged them into each other using the Ethernet cable provided by the Google Wifi. It was crazy easy to set up my new network using the Google Wifi app on my iPhone. I then used the second Google Wifi single point in the kitchen which is two rooms away. Despite the app telling me that the Internet signal was weak, for the first time since I've moved into this house I was able to stream my shows WELL in the kitchen. I then set up the third Wifi single point in the separate garage office/back house apartment several yards away in another structure and IT WORKED. Despite the app telling me that this third single point signal was weak, my husband was able to stream TV shows and do all the work he needed to do on the Internet using the Google Wifi. I called Time Warner Cable the same day and canceled the service to our second router/modem back there saving us over $1300 a year.

This was the first Mesh WiFi system I have purchased. I had looked at a Mesh system about 3 years prior to purchasing this and the technology was in my opinion just not ready for prime time and the cost was still prohibitive. My past WiFi routers have all been single access points but I always spent the extra money to get the newest, fastest dual band routers for my house to satisfy my wife's video streaming and my kids gaming. The single access point systems have always left weak spots around my house and when we were dealing with heavy traffic, those with the weakest signals would end up getting dropped. Additionally the old single access point routers I had purchased all seemed to need to be restarted a couple of times a month in order to maintain top wireless speed. Enter the Google Wifi AC1200 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System. Wow! It was a breeze to setup, my house has strong coverage throughout my 2,460 sq ft house and the finished basement as well. Speeds have never been an issue, I have never had to restart it in 9 months, and nobody has had any issues with dropped WiFi. As a family of 5 who identify as heavy WiFi users, I recommend this system with zero reservations and find it hard to believe that anybody will find anything negative to say about the Google Wifi AC1200.

I've had this for about a month now. Setup was a breeze, and the App is great. At first, it may take a little while before the WiFi works itself out for optimum performance (took about 3 days), but it's increased the range in my house and is a great unit. If you have multiple levels or a large floor plan, the set of three will ensure you can go anywhere and still get a strong signal.

The ease of setup is incredible! It looks good, and the speeds are just as good as the nighthawk I replaced. I'm a power user - over 30 devices connected in the house at all times (smart house/light/doors, etc) several gaming consoles, and - of course - plenty of cell phones in the house. Never thought I'd want anything other than a nighthawk, but bought this to test the speeds. Google WiFi has easily provided a few Mbps faster than the 300 I pay for (on average, 312mbps). I've owned the 3 pack for 2 months, but so far, I've never been more pleased with a router!

I overanalyze electronics purchases to a fault. I could not choose which mesh system to go with. I have a multi-level 2800 sq ft house. Tried the Orbi system first. I had high hopes but it didn’t work right. Only after I bought did I read about all the problems. Finally went with my original gut feeling and got these. Couldn’t be happier! Super easy, user-friendly setup. Work amazing. Stop deliberating and go get these. Plus you can buy more individual ones and continue to make your network better as you save up for as big of a network as you need!

I read the reviews and most said this was not the best mesh router system available and provided several reasons. I bought these anyway, to try them out for myself. I don't has a huge area to cover, but it's three floors and coverage with a standard AC1900 router has several weak coverage areas. Extenders didn't work well. So I tried Google WiFi and kept the box to allow me to return. Well I'm not returning. WiFi is strong in all areas of my condo now. The setup has been effortless. I highly recommend Google WiFi for the amateur or the enthusiast.
