Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

We needed a good wifi extender due to having 3 floors. The set up was so easy. The only downside is the filter features. I am still trying to figure out how to change it. No options what to filter. Hopefully they can make it like the disney circle feature. Otherwise it is a good product

Google WiFi is what I recommend for everyone in my family. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because (a) the coverage of each node is not as strong as the OnHub (which I now use as the central hub of my mesh, to great results) and (b) since it doesn’t have a dedicated wireless backhaul, the wireless mesh speed rarely exceeds 100mbps. For most, that’s more than enough. But I have gigabit internet, and wish google WiFi could mesh at higher speeds like the mesh systems with a dedicated backhaul band.

Good basic kit but with some HUGE FLAWS

This review will probably be overlooked due to the glowing reviews MOST people give (which is also why I originally bought them). But truth be told, this kit is a VERY BASIC way to get online, yet that isn't a 'bad' thing. The biggest issue I have with this kits and many others like this are that you can't choose to have 2, distinct networks for 2.4 & 5 GHz networks, and that matters. If you want to separate your gaming PC or streaming box from all the 2.4 GHz traffic around you, you can't, as the system decides and there is NO WAY it can be overridden. There is no box, no choice, no nothing to allow this. That was the deal breaker for me as we have multiple 1080p security cameras around the house on the 2.4 GHz network. I would find my devices CRAWLING slow (we have 100mbps fiber) only to see they had dropped from 5 GHz down to 2.4 GHz. With NO way to change that feature, these are worthless to me. Although you may be saying to yourself right now, 'That isn't really a big deal', well yes, yes it is a big deal. And you will hate it when you're trying to stream Netflix in 1080 or 4K but it's stalling out because your Ring or Nest camera is streaming a feed also. Lastly, it's made by Google...come on, we ALL know they are prying as much data about you as possible from everything you do online. Why give them yet ANOTHER way to pry into your personal life. It's bad enough the ISP can see all your traffic, do you really want Google knowing what you are doing @ 2am...

This thing is incredible. I bought the 3 pack. I had an older router (Apple Time Capsule from 2010). I would get ~80-90 Mbps near the router I have a 100 Mbps connection. Further away, in other floors, I would get anywhere from 4-30 Mbps depending on where I was. Lo and behold, I get 100 Mbps anywhere I am in my house!

Works great and not having any issues. Very easy to set up and works well with my first google. I have a house where wifi is hard to get in the back of my house so this was the perfect solution. I like that you have an app that can control this with so many different options. Best way to go.

These have to be some of the easiest mesh networks to setup. Download an app, plug in and optimize! If you are sick of dead zones in your house, these are clear winners! I had 3 massive dead zones in my house and the 3 pack cleared them all up. Full wifi in the garage and bathrooms now!

Got this to replace an old AirPort Extreme. The setup was a little more tricky for me becase I wanted to use wired ethernet for the backhaul. Google dosen’t document it well. But after I got it set the wifi has been solid, no dropped devices. The app make it a breeze to configure and monitor.

Easy setup. Had to return though due to that it wouldn't bridge to the LAN. Other than that for a stand alone wireless it's great.

I purchased the Google in home system in hopes to improve our internet connection at home. So far, we have seen an improvement! Through my cable provider, we pay for their best internet, which is up to 250 speeds, but really only got up to 170. With the in home system we now average 287! Much improved speeds.

I bought this because my wireless was slow and couldn’t get through the walls. The google Wifi was amazing for fast internet through the walls. Cons: it randomly drops connection a couple times every hour and takes a minute to appear back on the Wifi list. It’s really really frustrating. Especially for something that is so expensive

These things have fixed all the dead spots for Wi-Fi in my house. My brother has the newer models and likes them as much as I like the first generation model. If you want to hook up ethernet to these than you want the first GEN and not the second GEN.

My router is an an upstairs, corner-room and WIFI connection was abysmal everywhere in the house. After hooking up these glorious mesh devices, I haven't had slow internet connection since. These are expensive but well worth the money compared to other types of "extenders" or "mesh" systems.

I've tried every WiFi network extender out there. I was tired of suffering from slow speeds to get a stronger signal. I bought two of these and they work together perfectly. I've never heard of a mesh network until I picked these up. Thanks to the best buy rep that recommended this product to me!

I live in a basement apartment and share Wi-Fi with my landlord who lives two floors up. Needless to say, it’s already stretched pretty thin between us. I didn’t have any Wi-Fi coverage in my bedroom. Purchased this gem to give it a boost and worked like a charm! Will probably buy another for my living
