Didn’t have the square footage coverage it said in the specs

This was a waste of $250 I would not recommend this to anyone.. Big disappointment

The signal drop pretty often and the range was limited. I went and return the product.

I do not recommend it came to me broken and after trying to get a hold of Best Buy I got hung up 3xs

Spent an hour on phone with Apple. Did not work with our security cameras. Returned to store

I just installed the three pack today replacing three Linksys E2000s. I actually bought two three packs thinking I would need them to cover four floors of my house from the basement to the attic. I will be returning one three pack because these things provide excellent coverage. The installation was ridiculously simple compared to the complex configurations I dealt with over the years (I go back to the days before internet). I would highly recommend this wifi solution.

Did not like this product would not buy again and would not recommend to family and friends

well i consider myself an above average techie... i had two routers in my two story house. One upstairs and one downstairs. The downstairs unit was a high powered ASUS router with giant antennas, etc... all designed to extend range and speed. Well pffft.... back yard still was slowish, jumping between channels once upstairs was painful...anyway, i thought i'd give google wifi a try. i had low expectations as i could always return. well, i have the two wifi points hard wired back to the main unit and the coverage is excellent. everywhere in the house. downstairs, upstairs, backyard... speeds are great. 80 MB in the backyard and 170 MB everywhere inside... i have switches set up so where i can hardwire my connections i defnitely do, but still this is really great. and the app, although basic is everything i need. heck even my wife can use the parental controls from her phone. :) i definitely recommend you give it a try. i love the speeds, having one SSID in the house and one guest channel and great reception everywhere... its cool to watch my iPhone switch access points automatically.

This product did nothing for my internet. I felt like my speed was the same.

The Google wifi app is not available on Apple store outside US. As I live abroad I can not use it.

I was skeptical of buying this being an apple fanboy. I originally had a apple AirPort Extreme for 4 years and finally stopped working. I bought a Linksys router a couple years back but was never happy with connections and speeds. I have a 3500sqft house and it was always a problem getting signal to reach the entire house. We have at least 10 devices connected to wifi at a time. I fiinally decided to look into new routers and came across Google wifi. After much research I decided to buy this system. Install literally took no more than 5 min. It was super easy to confirgurw with the mobile app. Within minutes I had 3 points set up throughout my house. The app even tells you if you placed a point properly, so you get max signal. I love the fact that each point does not weaken signal. You get pretty close to full speed all the time. The app itself is great because you can make changes, check network speeds, and also best of all PAUSE the network if you need family time. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new system. Little pricey but worth it!

In my last review for my Google Home I mentioned how I really like the no frills clean packaging and it shows once again from Google's Wifi system. Inside you see the 3 Wifi units and underneath is a quick start card along with 3 smaller boxes containing the power adapters for each of the 3 Wifi points. Routers are almost always somewhat bulky with a wide footprint, multiple lights and tacky looking antennas sticking out of the unit. This Google Wifi system is the complete opposite of that and reminds me of the Google Home design except this is even smaller. Wires are connected underneath so the plug ends are hidden leading to a cleaner look and antennas are internal. There is a light indicating connection status which can be adjusted via Google Wifi app. Setting up the initial Wifi point to act as my router is not difficult at all but unlike most routers in the market today that allow setup via desktop/laptop browser for instance, this Google system must be setup via mobile app with bluetooth enabled. The system stated that 3 units would be needed for up to a 5000 sq. ft. place but I live in a 2200 sq. ft and still needed all 3 units for better signal quality. Each unit has to be setup via the app but at least it is made easier by scanning the QR codes labeled underneath each unit instead of entering the information manually. I currently have a 200 MBPS speed package with Optimum and although the Google Wifi units report that the signals to and from the router is GOOD and the signal bar is maxed out, I am getting around 100 MBPS on the second floor. Testing the wired speed between my cable modem and Wifi router fetches 150 MBPS so there is a dropoff there as well. I was able to get 200 MBPS with my previous router. The hand-off of wifi connections to my iPhone or tablet is seamless from mesh unit to mesh unit as I move around the house, Just like setting up the units required a mobile app, the same app must be used for managing your network settings for Google Wifi. It is very simplistic and would be great for beginners. The brightness level for each unit can adjusted here with the option to turn off the light completely. There are options for Port Forwarding, Family Wifi and prioritizing devices. With that being said moderate to advanced users would find Google Wifi very lacking settings wise. There are no options to manually configure Wifi channel, frequency or VPN for that matter. I did not see a MAC filter option which almost all home routers have. This Google Wifi mesh system was just released to the public and is the lowest cost system in the market. Overall it is decent and has good potential going forward. My hope is that with improved firmware the speed will improve and they will allow more advanced configuration options. PROS: Good Range. User Friendly. Cheapest Wifi Mesh system in the market. Clean looking Design. Wires plug underneath unit. Very stable connections. Signal handoff from unit to unit is seamless and uninterrupted. CONS: No browser interface. Very limited network settings. Must use mobile APP and bluetooth. Average speed.

Optimum's own wireless router was suddenly maxing out at 15 mbps, I was supposed to get 200 mbps down/40 mbps up. Called Optimum, they claimed Optimum could not guarantee speeds to wireless router only to modem thus they could not help. Purchased NETGEAR - AC1750 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router, top rated. After setup, speeds went from 15mbps to 30. Close to doubled my speed but still 170 mbps short of what I should be getting. Installed google wifi, problem solved. Now wifi speeds range from 185 mbps to 200 mbps, as expected, even in basement!!! We have 2 mesh spots upstairs and the other in the basement. I would love to purchase one more for guest room area upstairs but will wait until the price drops a bit, $129 is steep. Not cheap but effective. Optimum wireless router was a joke in my house and their level of expertise/assistance was even worse when it came to this particular issue. They even blamed the decrease in speed on my microwave at one point. . . LOL!

I returned it. The sales person recommended it; went back to a regular router.

I purchased the 3-pack from Best-Buy on May 13. Coverage and speed exceeds my expectations. We have a 2600 sq.ft. 2-story home. Previously had a 2010 Apple Time Capsule as my sole Wifi source, putting out about 60 MB/s via Cox Prime. Speed down the hall at my desktop was 20-30 MB/s at best, and at my Ring doorbell outside, was so bad that it did not work much of the. Now we are getting 55-65 MB/s throughout the entire house and 40-50 outside. Set-up was quick and easy with one exception. When registering the main unit on the internet, my first attempt to capture an image of the bar code was poor quality, but the on-line prompts kept progressing until a I got a failure to connect message. I called the Google Wifi support and as they walked me through the same steps, I captured a good image and all went well. Adding the 2 clients was a snap with no help needed. I did the set-up using the Google Wifi App on my Android phone, and I also have a pre-existing Google account. Don't know if that makes setup easier or not.
