Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

My WiFi is faster with better coverage than the standard WiFi modem that came from my isp. Very easy to set up with the app. Wish it had a couple more ports on each pod though.

My in home wifi net was impeded by the very solid concrete wall construction of the apartment I moved into upon arriving in Korea (I'm a soldier). I spoke with friends and researched online and learned about this Google Wifi system - it's every bit as easy as the reviews say to set up and operate and it's fantastic. I have lightning fast internet throughout the house. Thanks

I purchased this after reviewing a variety of mesh networks online. The gateway that comes with my provider's internet service is, in a word, garbage. Poor coverage, lots of dropped speeds, and I felt compelled to reset it once a month or so to get the speeds I paid for. No more thanks to Google. Since moving to Google Wi-Fi, the speeds have stayed consistent, not to mention significantly faster. With a 1Gbps data plan, I'm getting around 800-850 Mbps on Wi-Fi, realistically double what the provided gateway could handle. Set up is super simple via the iOS/Android app and coverage is strong on the two main floors as well as the basement, roughly 4k sq.ft. of space total. It won't have all of the tweaks some really techy folks will want to manage but this is dead simple to use for the other 95% of Internet users.

This saved our household. With so many devices drawing from the wi-fi and a larger sqare ft. home, we were having difficulty pulling adequate speeds from our router. Not any more! Set up was super easy, I love the accompanying app for smart phones, and there are no more fights over who's on wi-fi! It's a bonus how small and cute they are! No more big obnoxious antennas!

The system was purchased to replace an Apple AirPort Extreme due to Apple dropping support. A 3 puck, as the units are lovingly called, system was installed. The first puck was attached directly to the cable modem and installation went very well. The two remaining pucks were hard wired, but must be meshed first with the primary puck first before attaching them to the lan. If you hardwire, make sure you have a solid, reliable gigabit unmanaged switch to create a lan with the primary puck. The system operates at 2ghz and 5ghz simultaneously without the ability to choose. Some Amazon devices will not operate at 5ghz because they use the lower channels and the Google system operates at the higher 5ghz channels. There was an issue with a Google Chromecast Ultra initially. Tech support indicated a new network name was required to clear out network information in the Chromecast. Coverage and strength of the system is excellent. All my devices with 5ghz capability have solid signals. You must use an app to install and operate the system. The app is great, but not always intuitive. The app is deigned for smartphones, but operates fine on a newer iPad. The app is not fully informative on older iPads. IPV6 activation was very simple. There have been a few reported instances of systems dropping the internet and going off line with a Chromecast as the potential culprit. Lastly, there is a second lan port if a direct connection is needed in lieu of Wifi.

Pretty sure you have read about what this device(s) does for your Wi-Fi, so I'm not going to explain more on that. The following is my personal experience, so YMMV. I live in a single-family house with 2 levels. Roughly 1100 sqft each floor. Our internet modem is connected at the far end at the living room. Even though it has a Wi-Fi option, the signal is pretty weak and pretty dead/non-existing at our bedrooms (the other end). Then comes Google Wi-fi. Simple, easy setup installation, and just work out of the box. I placed one at each end and the 3rd one downstairs. Not only do we have connectivity at every corner of the house, but the speed is consistent and fast! No lag at all. Definitely a must buy for those that are looking for strengthening your Wi-fi signals.

The Google wifi products are fantastic and easy to set up, virtually managing themselves. When used in conjunction with each other, or with Google OnHub access points, the entire system will work seamlessly together and will provide suggestions on placement to improve overall wifi coverage, Also a handy way to add a physical ether net drop to an unwired area.

So I've had the Google Mesh installed for about 4 months now. It is a nice feature rich, easy to install, easy to use WIFI router product. The app manager is awesome and give you great value add features like speed checking to individual devices on the WIFI network. These thing really do come in handy when trying to troubleshoot connectivity issues. Also, it seems to give me greater coverage than my old ASUS - AC Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router which is also an awesome router. But, i'd say marginally better. In order to get the mesh coverage perfect, you need to position these nodes perfectly within the radius of the primary node. So, what I'm not too happy with is stability of the mesh network. Like I mentioned, if you don't position the secondary wifi nodes perfectly, the connectivity between the primary and outlying wifi nodes will go in and out. Also, if you have things that interfered with your previous wifi router's signal like lots of walls or appliances, this doesn't seem to resolve that issue. Because the Google mesh helps "manage" the connectivity of your devices on your network by pushing them to connect to the "ideal" wifi node, sometimes i noticed my device was connected to a wifi node 15 feet way instead of the wifi node right next to it!?! Strange. Overall happy with it especially the app management...glad I picked it up on sale though. Not sure i'd pay full price for it if I did it over again.

Easy to set up. Go to website to easily find app download (instead of App Store). Other WiFi extenders require you to log into each extender separately and logs you out after a period of time. This product uses one log in for all extenders and keeps you logged in. This convience is worth the extra money. Increases signal strength of Wifi but not speed.

Wifi coverage improved greatly. Easy to install and you notice the improvement right away. Well worth the money. While walking through the store with this item, I was stopped by two other Customers who shared their satisfaction with this product. They were sold on it and now I can see why. If you have limited WiFi access in your home, this is for you.

As of now totally satisfied. The product was well packaged with sufficient directions both in the box and via the setup app. Installation was without problems. Distribution of access points resulted in no less than 60mgbts download anywhere in the house, backporch,l or garage. I have just under 20 devices connected and all are sufficiently serviced.

I now have complete coverage in my 2 story home, and the set up is ridiculously easy. This is truly a smart router system, that figures out all of the details for you. A handful of previous complaints had included it's lack of advanced features, but that is no longer an issue with the features they have added on the recent update. Highly recommend.

Yes it is really pricy, but if you are sick of having dead spots for wifi in your house and speed issues depending where you are in the house then this is worth the money. I don't need all the fancy router stuff, I wish I could just run it in an AP mode, but I am still able to run it on my network and have amazing wifi coverage. The only reason I minus'ed a star was the price and the fact I can't put them in AP mode with mesh enabled. Otherwise it's a great product.

I have tried several mesh wifi setups and the Google Mesh kit is one of the best. Very easy installation with step by step instructions and high quality google wizards to ensure premium location selection. Different options for each AP depending on wired vs WiFi installation location. Great product and a breeze to get it working at its best speeds.

We just moved to a 3000 sq foot home and knew that one router would not cut it. We have used extenders in the past, but also knew that would not cut it. With the 3 routers in our home, we have fast internet EVERYWHERE, and they were all super easy to set up. Literally just download the app and scan the bottom of the router and you're good to go.

Google has always done a good job with their routers. This one was super simple to set up, I did it while Comcast was still setting up the rest of the internet connection. It has one port to hook up to the modem, and one port for ethernet, if you want to plug in your computer or game console. I like that I can use the app to check the speed from wherever I am, not that it's necessary but it's fun. It gives me the speed I pay for and I have connection from my parking spot outside of my apartment because the range is awesome. I have had little to no issue setting up wireless devices to turn off and on with my Echo, the only problem I have had was trying to set up wireless light bulbs, but it seems like an issue many people have had.

I bought this 3 pack because the Wi-Fi setup that came with my new fiber connection from AT&T was unreliable. The wired connection is out of this world, but the Wi-Fi connection had a resolving problem. So, thinking I needed to stretch out our internet connection, I bought this 3 pack. However, just one of these is all I needed. The one little google Wi-Fi setup instantly through the smartphone app and I could not be happier with the speed, reliability, and reach it has throughout my house. It also has a ton of customizable features. It works really well with iOS devices as well. I ended up returning this product for the single pack because I didn’t actually need 3. One by itself did the job amazingly well.

I purchased this on-sale for my in-laws. It was relatively easy to set up and I am confident they can manage it themselves. The WiFi performance seems at least as good as before with the Xfinity gateway but now with better coverage. However, I think they are still too expensive. This kit should sell for $150 for 3 devices rather than the $250 "sale price" of late. Moreover, any advanced features (like wired backhaul) are not that easy to set up and the instructions and implications are not at all clear. We are presently in a double NAT set up behind Comcast with only one device wired-in because of the worry the set up would be hard to manage or have undesirable performance consequences if we go beyond the default mode. I was also not happy to have to use a Google account to access and configure the set up. As others have mentioned, another place to worry about what Google is tracking about you. On the positive side, having a LAN port on each device was useful to connect our Blueray player that did not have WiFi (Wish it had at least two local ports or can configure the backhaul / WAN port for this use.) I will mark "yes" to recommending for this kind of use case, but am much happier with my Ubiquiti and Amplifi set ups elsewhere.

I just bought a large one level home and was worried a normal wireless router would not be able to reach every corner of my home. With the Google WiFi I could not have asked for a better router. My home is covered and I have yet to have any complaints. It was very easy to setup. The Google App on my iPhone was extremely easy to use
