Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

Another great google product. This replaced my previous router, and provided me full coverage throughout my house. Very easy to set up and works great. Doesn't have the most functionality, but most users don't need more than the basics.

The setup of the network was incredibly easy, and each of the pods connected right away. I previously had a WiFi extender that required me to constantly switch in different rooms, and since my printer only worked with 2.4g, I would have to switch whenever I needed to print from my iPad or iPhone. I have the points separated by a couple of rooms from each other, and I’ve been able to move freely through the house while maintaining a strong signal and super fast speed. Finally I can also print easily without issue. Very happy!

Overall the system sets up pretty easily, and it does everything that it claims it will do. I have 25 - 30 items connected to it at any given time, and I have seen no issues with overall performance. As some have noted, you do not have a web interface so you need to use your phone/tablet app to control it, it is fully immersed in the Google infrastructure which means they may have access to your logs (not a big deal if you are not committing any crimes) but the same holds true for your ISP, your cellphone provider, and pretty much all of your social media accounts... but I digress. The upside is that if you need to make any changes to your home network you can do it from almost anywhere in the world. The down side is there is no workaround if your mobile device dies and you need to make changes. At this time there is no desktop application to make changes with. I also like that you can adjust the brightness of the LED on the unit or turn it off completely if you have it in your bedroom or some other space you prefer not to have a bright light all the time. Additional insights: Yes you can change the non-routable IP address range you use on your home network (it is in the settings area under "LAN" or local area network), you can tweak your DNS settings, turn IPv6 on or off, connect the Mesh to a network switch for wired connections, create and manage reservations of IP addresses, and set up port forwarding. I have read a number of reviews for this item that claim you are not able to do these things; I am not sure if there was a upgrade to the software or application that added these features later, or if the individuals writing their reviews didn't know where to look for these settings. Also if you like all of the blinking lights that you are used to seeing on home routers, this system may seem odd to you and may make you wonder if it is working properly.

I went to these from a multiple AirPort Extreme setup and these outperform them when it comes to range and speed. I went with these over the Velop system due to price and they work great for multitasking and streaming. No complaints.

We live in a townhouse which seemed like it was designed to maximize the number of signal-trapping walls between my wireless router and anyplace I wanted to use my wireless devices. My upload/download speeds were lousy and I couldn't even print wirelessly without setting up a network extender. Google WiFi solved all my problems. My signal transfer rates are consistently higher than I thought was even possible. Network drops are a thing of the past. I retired my network extender. Setup was pretty easy even for a wifi challenged user like me.

Super simple setup, google will walk you through everything step by step in order to get it up and running. Does the job and gets me wi-fi where my old router could not reach. The associated app is very user friendly, I can assign bandwidth priority to certain devices for a limited time, check on the mesh status and run a speedtest. Each device also has an ethernet jack to boost bandwidth if needed.

I have a large home so our fios wifi has always been spotty in certain areas at best. I have used other extenders over the years. They were difficult to install and never lived up to expectations. When the most recent one I had began to fail, I came to the store. Talked to two different sales people. The Google wifi was the better price of the two that I was looking at and I guessed correctly that it would be very easy to install. It was! I like the app that you can put on your phone. It is easy and not sending notices constantly. The devices and app are just there doing the job quietly and properly. So far this has solved my "too much house for a stupid Fios router to reach everywhere" problem. BTW- Fios will lease an extender to you for an extra $20 per month. This is a much better deal.

I was not sure what to expect. I started out looking for a wi-fi extender. But when I researched I discovered the wi-fi mesh. Set up was so simple. And the app let's me control nearly every aspect of my wi-fi. I have excellent reception in every corner of my house. I was able to cancel wi-fi form the cable company, and I am in control of my wi-fi from an app that is very, very intuitive. I was shocked at how good it was and how easy it was to set up and control. Highly recommend.

I had issues with speed and reliability, not anymore! Love my new WiFi. Even have the ability to check to see what devices are connected at any give time, then the app. Also can check my WiFi quality from anywhere, thru the app.

My router died and I had to purchase a new one and I decided to take the plunge on this. Very glad I did. Reception seems great throughout my home and it was very easy to setup. Love the app and all the control you have and being able to see what is connected to your router. The best feature is that it connects the devices to either a 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz channel depending on what the device supports without having two separate connections for the two bands like my old Asus router had.

I recently moved into a larger home and was having trouble covering the whole house with my current router. I installed the google system in about 20 minutes and I could instantly tell the difference in the speed and coverage.

Switching to this router from my old Belkin made the cheapest internet plan from Xfinity bearable. The ability to set a priority device is awesome and it's even reaching the whole two story house from a central upstairs room.

I rarely leave reviews, typically because the products I buy speak for themselves. But this product, while the reviews do just that, I felt compelled to add to the high praises. I had also suffered from slow speeds, just assuming it was my ISP slowing me down. I had a higher end router, and thought, how much could this actually help? It blew me away. Standing by my old router, I was getting 25 Mbps and now I’m getting 100+ throughout the house (just check my photos). Anyways, buy without hesitation. I was torn between this and other similar items, but thought 2300+ reviews couldn’t be wrong. And, they are not. Enjoy!

This system is amazing! It broadcasts one network name and password. Once connected it does the rest of the work. I can go anywhere and I always have the same signal strength. Setup was a breeze. I recommend this to everyone!

One of, if not, the easiest Wifi routers to set up and use. The mobile app, automatic updates, network health checks and internet connection speed monitoring are just a few of the gems this little power packed puck provides.

Easy set-up. Good coverage. Amazing speeds. Compared to all the routers I've used so far, Google WiFi has the easiest setup process. Thanks to the 3 pack, the signal is strong in every corner of the house and beyond. With my older routers I've had to restart them every 3-4 days or so, not the case with Google WiFi. I've set them up once and never had to fiddle with it again so far. Highly recommend investing in this product and get rid of the monthly router rentals from most of the ISP's.

We purchased this device based on our discussion with the Best Buy rep. We are novices with this network stuff and this system appears to work great and was very easy to setup. Most of our wi-fi dead spots are gone and the internet speeds are a lot faster. Our son does internet gaming and he noticed a big improvement. The system has an app that helps you test your wi-finin different areas. So if you need to improve your wi-fi reception, you can move the little pucks just about anywhere to improve the reception.

I purchase the set of 3 already but noticed one of my rooms had poor connectivity. This room was distant from the routers so I ended up buying an additional one. It works great and my internet speeds are spectacular.

This was easy to set up, and gives us great WiFi coverage. Our home is around 3000 sq.ft. with an apartment below. There is a strong signal everywhere. The app is also easy to use and lights on each one are dimmable.
