Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. I am not a computer genious nor I have a computer genius BFF who can help me out when it comes to setting up routers and modems at home. The Google WiFi was very easy to set up and it was seemless with all my devices at home. It took me less tha 30 mins to set it up. It utilizes your gmail account to set it up. Using the app you can access your home network from anywhere in the world. I did it from France, Canada, London, NYC and even while at work a few miles from the house. You can see what devices uses the most data, when are those devices running, if the device is online or offline, plus more. You can give one device a priority status therefore Google WiFi gives that device a higher priority over other devices making that one device signal stronger with less buffering pauses. Having 3 pods works well at home. I have 3 story home and using other devices was troubling since the signal was very por on the third floor. With Google WiFi that problem went away. You can test the strength of your signal using the Google WiFi app or another third party app. I have no issues at home no more with poor signal in some areas of the house. You can disconnect devices using the app. This is a good idea for those people with kids who want to make sure their kids are doing homework and not watching videos/movies or playing video games. It also makes “family time” better by pausing devices during such time. Lol If you are concerned over Google keeping track of website you visit, I did some research and it seems not to log the sites you visit, but your internet provider sure does. They have to by law so either way, someone is keeping track. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for it.

Works great. Set-up was super easy. Covers main floor and basement which are both about 800-1000 square feet. Have never had any cutouts that were the fault of the devices. The app lets you track the quality of your network easily. I have about 4 devices connected directly and about another 6-8 that are wireless at any given time with zero issues. My only complaint would be that it only has one ethernet output, but that was easily remedied with a hub.

I have always used Netgear for wireless WIFI. I love Netgear but when I was looking to upgrade my system the guy at Best Buy recommended I tried this once I explained what I needed for my home. I was skeptical at first but since I have other Google products I decided to try it. I am SOOO glad I did. The Google Wifi system was so easy to install and my wifi home coverage is excellent. The speed is great and now everyone is my home is happy.

We wanted a network for the adult kids “guest” and a separate network for me as I am a database administrator and work from home saveral days a week. We have a pod in the office, family room, and bedroom. Configuration was simple and clean. Security and performance are outstanding, there are multiple speed tests available and you can monitor and better yet prioritize use. Don’t hesitate this WiFi net is fast, reliable and a snap to set up. Very satisfied customer.

This just work, played around with quite a few "Gaming" AP's even tried some commercial ones. Found commercial ones tend to be slower and gaming ones like the Asus I had frequently needed to be restarted to give performance and prevent disconnects. I now have 2 of these units. They are easy to setup, you open the app on your phone go through the wizard and your done. You can then uninstall the app and forget about it. With the mesh I had an area of my house where no cable was possible, I placed one unit there it connected to the other and rebroadcasts your internet, this helps with channel interference from neighbors Access points / routers. They broadcast on both 5GHZ and 2.4GHZ under a single SSID so you get the best of both worlds. When 5Ghz is working great your speeds are awesome if for some reason some interference comes along - it doesn't drop your connection. Gaming wise, we have a 100/10 internet connection Mbps. This consistently gives me those speeds, in fact since it uses new AC technology (backwards compatible with A B G and N) the speeds it should be able to reach should be 1.2Gbps given that your Internet service provider can supply you it, aka Google Fiber. To anyone consider this for Gaming or any other function, home office, just tired of your failing wifi dropping at your house - this is it, get this and your on your way to success. Side note: They sell a 3 pack for the price of 2 1/2 of these. If you have areas of your home aka upstairs or need to boost the link to a area that has a lot of interference get 2 or more. They do great. Side note 2: I had 2 of these setup almost on top of each other - 5 yards - they didn't interfere with each other and auto selected the correct bands. This helped with my upstairs neighbors in the apartment, I can see at least 20 other wifi devices and I'm pretty sure they have some kind of noise canceling.

This thing is great as far as speed goes. We have 21 devices and it supports them all. I would give it five stars but the instructions were not that good. That being said, it was really easy. Also, You can tell the app is in development. It will keep getting better I am sure. Overall, I am really happy with it. The coverage is great and the speed is fast.

I bought this wifi router after having trouble with netgear routers dropping either the 2.4g or the 5g or both channels and each time would have to reset router. With this router, nothing like that. Setup was easy on my iphone. I can monitor wifi devices connected from wherever I am, and can even pause devices from using the wifi from any location on my phone. speeds are perfect for what I pay in all corners of my house. I must say this is the best router I have ever owned.

The router was incredibly easy to setup via the mobile app. Also easy to setup the mesh network, which has performed well via 2 access point across a 3 story house. The mobile app has a bunch of useful features, and allows me to monitor the performance/speed remotely and sends push notifications when my ISP goes down. The hardware is also relatively small and elegant. My only gripe is I wish there were more ethernet ports for when I need the stability of a wired connection.

My kids are finally thrilled with the WiFi anywhere in the house. After years of coping with our ISP-provided WiFi and failed attempts with various WiFi Extenders, the Google WiFi 3-pack has our 4700-sq.ft. home covered, including our basement, first floor, and bedrooms on the second floor. My son had a bunch of friends over recently and they all brought their own XBox's/TV's and they said the WiFi performance was great. Setup was easy (kinda fun, actually).

I went in looking to address a coverage issue that has plagued my two story house for years. After going the extender route, I chose to go with the Google Wi-Fi system. This system works amazing, my speeds are off the chart and the set up was very easy. The added features such as parental controls and the ability to monitor usage via the Google Wi-Fi app are extremelt useful. If you're looking for a whole home Wi-Fi solution, I highly recommend this product.

Got this based on a reccomendation from a friend. I have a newer built house, and my wifi can't get through these walls as well as my old place. This helps combat that, but with some caveats to be aware of. 1. advanced features While this can do things like port forwarding, DHCP reservations, as well as some other features that i've havent seen as easy to setup in other routers like device priority, family controls, etc, there are some other features i wish it had. You can't set you own subnet range on this. It's a 192.168.86.X network, and you can't change it. I work from home, and host a home lab, so i had to change my network around to get this to work. Not a huge deal, but was kind of a pain 2. No option to seperate 2.4 and 5 GHz networks When you join to your network, there's no option to seperate out those two bands. Not a huge deal, but basically Google WiFi will determeine which signal is "strongest" for your device to connect over, not neccesarily the fastest one. I plan on doing wired ports to the wifi points in my house to get better coverage in the rooms i can't get 5GHz in to help with this. All in all it's a great solutin for the price point into mesh networking, and is pretty easy to stand up

I needed a new router and wanted to get into mesh, but most kits include 3 units for $275+. I live in a 1100sq ft home so I didnt think I'd need 3. Then I found that Google sells theirs individually, so I picked one up at BestBuy for $99. Went home, followed the instructions, downloaded the Google wifi app and within less than 5 minutes it was set up, mostly all on its own. Note: A google account is required, but it's free if you dont have one already). I'm a techie and figured there would be configuration I'd want to do, nope. - dead simple and ready to rock. Plug it in, run the app and go. As for performance, I have mine in the basement of my bungalow home. I get excellent coverage through out the house, but I may add one more unit as I drop a small amount upstairs, which is the farthest from where the Google unit is. This is where google made the most sense for me, I can add one more for a total of $200 and have a mesh system that morethan takes care of my house. Otherwise with other systems I'd pay $275+, and sure I'd have 3+ units but I'd have essentially bought 1 extra of those for an additional $75. Its nice ththe three packs have a discount, but no need to spend extra money if I don't require 3 units. I also hooked a PC to the ethernet port on the Google unit, which worked as expected. Overall I'm thrilled with this unit and how easy it is to get going. It will be my recommendation to others from here on out, from the casual user to techies, this can't be beat.
