Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

I got a set of three to replace my previous Airport set up - 1 TC, 1 Extreme and 1 Express. I used the three in extender mode. So the Google WiFi replaces that. Here are my early observations based on a set up with 20 connected devices. I kept the same SSID so all devices just connected from my Apple to Google WiFi routers.
1. Set up is easy and I prefer the Google App to Apple’s. Although, Apple has more flexibility.
2. Unlike the Airport, Google WiFi will not connect to a VPN Server.
3. Speed is the same for both set ups. Stability so far has been the same as well, although in 2+ years I never needed to reboot the AirPorts. So we will see.
4. The range is actually slightly less on Google WiFi compared to my previous Airport set up.
5. I will need to set up TC to backup and will need to attach an external hard drive.
6. Google WiFi only has one external hardwired connection. The Airports had 3.
On hindsight, the updgrade wasn’t worth it for me. Bit of you’re not upgrading from a full AirPort Extreme type set up this is a great value. Lastly, based on the connection speeds from various locations in my house, Google WiFi does not seem to be a true mesh. The speeds are very similar to what I was getting using extenders with my Airport set up.

This is the best wifi router I've ever purchased. I'm able to get speeds which I couldn't get with other routers, the set up is a breeze and I can reach areas of the house that had dead spots before. Very pleased!

Initially I researched the Velop and GWiFI and compared them for about 2.5 wks. Because the of price, I felt solid with the intel and made the purchase. I understand how WiFi works and whatnot and I must say, I had better speeds with my ISP supplied router than I have gotten with the GWiFi. It does cover the 2200 sq.ft if my house. SUPER EASY to setup with your iPhone or Android device. Love the parental controls, pausing the internet for the kids when it's homework dinner, bedtime. Signal strength is solid, by the pool, and through the up and downstairs of my house. But I guess, going back to speeds, I was expecting more. I even bought a WiFi blu-ray player to take advantage of my ISP-supplied 4 port router. In the end, I bought a switch, added it to the only port I left and ran the blu-ray player from the switch and speeds are INSANELY faster than via WiFi.
3/5 stars were given because of the lack of quality customer service when I needed support from Google. BUT THAT'S A STORY FOR ANOTHER DAY.

Along w my old apple time capsule, this is the most reliable router system I have used. Easy to setup and the 3 pack works well to cover our oddly shaped 2 bedroom apt, would highly recommend!

Overall this is a good system for easily setting up a wireless network. Nothing difficult other than plugging it in a following a few simple directions. I was able to remove my wi-fi extenders because of the coverage area this system provides. Tends to bog down with 12-16 devices connected. This is a great compliment to any home network. Although my google wi-fi dashboard showed I was getting 300+ Mbs I was still dropping signal. Either the speed is exaggerated to make a person feel good (probably) or it's not as strong of a network as I expected.

I spent the better part of a month complaining because these pods would not "mesh" with full strength. Then one day I just started relocating them throughout the house taking readings using the Google app on my iPhone each time I found a new location. That was the key. I had one location I was sure would be perfect and only moved the other two pods up to that point. The issue was not testing the system after one, then two, and finally after all 3 pods were connected.
Then I relocated the primary unit to a hard wire location from the fiber optic cable. Then the 2nd pod was close but 3 walls away and on a second floor. The third pod is about 50 feet from there and back on the first floor but with no walls to interfere. Now all pods are perfect and full strength.
We have Netflix, Tidal Master and 12 devices running at the same time now in the home with no hiccups.

I can’t give you a tech field review I simply knew my Nest cameras outside were dropping off WiFi and the family would complain when the iPads/phones would go down randomly. 3700 sqft house 3 pods amazing results we are now getting what we pay for out of our internet. 2 pods downstairs and one upstairs. The one upstairs covers a game room, theater room, and 2 bedrooms with no issues at all. No complaints from the family and 100% getting our money out of these bad boys. Neat features we also get is naming our own WiFi and password. Having a visitors wifi and password. Ability to prioritize a device and also manage devices on the WiFi. Superior product very happy with this system!!

This product is wonderful! I did a bunch of research before making this purchase and then talked to the Best Buy employee and selected the Google wifi 3 pack.
It's easy to install, it's easy to test and use. The software that I downloaded on my phone works great and is user friendly. Also the installation was pretty easy. I did run into one hiccup and I called the google customer service which was a 24/7 help line. They walked me through the issue I was having and stayed on the phone with me as I finished completing the network.
Purchasing this through Best Buy was a great choice for me and I now have coverage throughout all of my property (full coverage in the front and backyard of my home, also through every room).

This has been a great purchase. Moving from one area of my home to a different area of my home in a multiple level home and the strength of signal is just as strong on one level as it is on another level. I do not need to go back into settings and find the strongest router on my network in order to get a strong signal.

I am extremely happy with the new Google Mesh 3-pack router. To give you a little history of my situation: I have had MetroNet 1 GB service for a little over a year. I have two teenage boys who play online video games and stream a lot of YouTube videos. When we would all be doing something at the same time our service would get very bogged down and lock up. I had to reboot the old router daily. Since installing the Google router, our service has not once locked up. (I have had the Google router for a little over a month now.) I am extremely happy with the improved speed and coverage throughout the house. I just wish I had done is sooner. I highly recommend!

Picked this up after never having coverage in certain spots of our house and reading reviews all over. Initially set up two of the three (one upstairs and one down) but I'm currently just using one and have coverage everywhere in our large home. Great if you need the option to reach/reinforce areas with dead spots!

With the default Comcast router my home did not have great wifi, but deciding to add these really helped things out. We have great coverage everywhere in our almost 3k sq ft home with the modem in the lower level. The only complaint I have is that when I upgraded the Comcast modem, I had to do a full factory restore of all 3 nodes to find the new modem. Would have been 5 stars if the programmability allowed for a flash reset or to just change the modem address without a full reset. I have recommended this to a few friends already.

Our house has a metal frame, so we had dead spots. Multiple wifi gadgets helped with dead spots, but interfered with each other dropping speeds considerably. I upgraded to 3 of these routers and set them up in 30 minutes. They have worked flawless without a need to reset for months. Speed tripled. Glad I got them.

Totally Surprised by the Google Wifi Router. I am not using it as a mesh system buy rather as a stand alone router. Replacing my Linksys ES6300. My speeds with the Linksys in the am where 49 mbs. Never got over 50... When I can home with the Google and ran the same test my speed where 285 mbs. Its in a 3000 sq ft home and located on the first floor. I get great wifi on all three floors and never an issue streaming on all my devices. Its very different as it only broadcasts one signal and automatically switches between 2.4 and 5 mhz... Wasn't sure how that would work, but work it does... The app is amazing and easy to setup. Really don't have a bad thing to say. very impressed...
