Say goodbye to your Wi-Fi issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was paying for 100 MBPS with comcast and my wi-fi router sitting right next to my cable modem, wouldn't cross 50 mbps. Also when we went further away the download speed dropped to 20 mbps and even single digits some times. Needless to say with multiple devices connected this was getting really annoying. Heard about mesh wifi technology from a friend and researched eero and google wi-fi. Both Google wifi and Eero had feature parity, however eero was 150 bucks more and the pods didn't have lan output. I wanted lan output in my office for my gaming desktop, so settled on google wifi. I was skeptical at first on how good this would be. Its been 30+ days now and my wifi woes are history. I am getting the speed I am paying comcast for at every nook & corner in my house and also backyard. I live in a 2 storey 2k sq. ft house and the 3 pods are more than enough to get sufficient range. With over 10+ smart devices connected at any given time, the download speed is very consistent. They also have an app and it is very easy to manage the setup with additional controls. it also has a network check feature similar to speedtest. The value of this is it shares details about each pod and not just the primary pod that is connected to the cable modem. I highly recommend this product and the latest wifi mesh technology. You can say goodbye to powerline, range extenders etc. It's a steep price but well worth it at the end.

Mesh WiFi is GREAT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for whole home coverage, this is it. After researching many different products I bought this based on price and reviews, and it has not disappointed in the month I've had it. Easy set up (crazy simple) and nice little app to check the network and perform tests. No website to configure anything yet but hopefully that will change with a firmware update. No WPS button but that's a good thing, only 2 Ethernet ports per hub so you may need to reconfigure if you are hardworking many devices. Boosted my speed and great coverage...very worth the purchase.

Pretty good, good WiFi coverage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The setup process is easy, but sketchy on details and instructions when it's not working the way it should. After switching out my at&t router with a Motorola modem, the Google WiFi router got happy and setup perfectly. I was puzzled why it wasn't working with my existing att router (router behind router) as it was configured to pass through.. but luckily I also had the Motorola modem to try... After the setup was complete, and connected to my 16port switch, and connected all the phones, tablets, etc. Seems to have great range (considering I had to locate it in a closet, a big no no) It has pretty good features that are set through the WiFi app. Only con is it has limited help. I also had to reboot it a couple times because the network went down (no reason I could see, modem had internet status). But after all that, it's been running smooth for about 1 month.

Incredible WiFi system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About a week and a half ago, we purchased the AmpliFi WiFi system that I thought would work well for us. While it did technically work, it didn’t work well enough for the price that was paid. It worked well if you were in the same room with the main router, but not so much everywhere else in the house. So, last night I took that system back to Best Buy and exchanged it for this Google WiFi system. Right off the bat these 3 little guys were outperforming the previous system (at almost $100 less). Easy to set up, great controls, and so far incredible, consistent WiFi coverage in our house. Like most households with 2 teenagers, we use quite a bit of bandwidth when it comes to our WiFi. And like most families, we have a ton of devises that are always connected to our WiFi. We’ll have anywhere between 15-18 devices connected at any one time. So far, this system has performed like a champ. With previous systems, our boys would complain that their gaming streams were laggy or would disconnect for no apparent reason. (We pay for 1 Gig download speeds from our ISP) Since we installed this everyone is happy and no lag on any devices. Our house isn’t giant by any means (1900 sf), but it has large rooms and really thick, sturdy walls that seemed to cause a problem for our previous WiFi setups. After 24 hours with Google WiFi, I’m very hopeful that this WiFi mesh system will be the one that works for us.

Great Product if you like ease of use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the Google WiFi for about 7 months now. Prior to this, I was using dlink repeaters throughout the House which did not work out well for me. My house is about 3900 square feet single story on a 0.5 acre lot. The 3 WiFi units are placed on the most West side of the house, the middle of the house, and the most east side of the house. I get consistent coverage everywhere throughout the house, and some spotty coverage towards the boundaries of my property line. At the source (in middle of house) I get about 250 mbps, and about half of that from the other 2 devices. Am able to watch uninterrupted video. Set up was a breeze, and there is some trade off with customization that I think only a small population of power network users might use. Would definitely recommend this product for somebody looking for a good WiFi mesh network with ease of use.

Does what it's supposed to do
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are several mesh networks to choose from, so do your homework and get what is best for you. As for me, I had heard many wonderful reviews about the Google WiFi, and their mesh system was highly rated and easy to set up. OK, here is the reality, it's all true, the system reaches my entire home and out onto the patio, the garage and pool area. The speeds are fantastic, and the setup really could not be any easier. I set up three puck units in my house and all I needed was my WiFi name and password and a smartphone Android or IOS. Just put the pucks where you think they will do the most good and plug them in and scan the barcode on each one and the google setup does the rest. All three pucks were up in five minutes (max). I have had no issues with them and find that the user app available from the app store is so easy to use to customize your network including blackout times for the family if you wish or individual blackout's to certain devices. The system is wonderful and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to upgrade from a stand-alone router to a mesh system.

These work!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I now have good wifi in the upstairs bedroom. I was nervous after unsuccessfully trying wifi repeaters. The setup was extremely easy and now we have reliable wifi throughout the house. We bought an inexpensive Switch and connected it via Ethernet downstream of the primary Google WIFI device. Now all of our devices hardwired to the switch are on the same wifi network. We have AT&T Uverse. We have the Modem/Router connected to the incoming signal and then Google Wifi and then the switch. We then went in settings for the Uverse router to turn off its radio so we only have the Google WIFI transmitting. Another benefit is that it is easy to set your own network name and password so we never have to look it up. I was very nervous about spending this much money since other devices haven’t worked. This works and was worth the money. Pick one up - get good wifi access throughout your home!

if you want easy setup . . .
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.then this is the item for you there's no easier way to set this up then to Simply plug in the app and plug the stuff up and away you go however it is a little bit of expensive for what it is but overall I'm pretty happy with it the updates that have come automatically for the router itself have now given me the functionality that I gave up prior to owning this item specifically again very expensive but trustworthy and I've had no issues about it whatsoever since I've purchased it

Very happy with this purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously had a one-location router in my office at the far end of the house, and had issues with good WiFi coverage in the basement and 2nd floor at the opposite end of the house. Also, with multiple devices streaming movies, other devices sometimes lost their connection or ability to download very quickly. This new router system is phenomenal! Easy to setup and the coverage has been excellent. No dead spots and no slow downs on any device at this point. Very pleased overall!

Simple setup and works flawlessly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After months of frustration with my Netgear Nighthawk, I decided to go with the Google WiFi mesh system. Right off the bat, this is the easiest setup you will encounter for a home network. You literally plug them in and scan the QR code on the main one. Make a WiFi name, create a password and you’re done. After that it just works. No more dropped speeds. No more problems. Just a solid working product that gives you consistent speed from every room of the house.

Perfect for Condo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Previously had another WiFi unit. Spent to get a quality product but it did not cover the whole condo, too many dead spots. Thought it would require a booster or two units. Instead a single Google device was all that was needed. Price and performance is excellent. Great app to interrogate speed and quality One can also see all devices connected and monitor usage. Why don’t others do this. Too late for them. Google is WiFi router is awesome.

Far better than any other router I have used!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used a lot of routers since I went wireless somewhere around 2009. Most of them have lasted a year (or less) and took a decent amount of futzing to make work the way I'd like them to. This Google WiFi setup was a snap to set up and has been more reliable and faster than anything I've ever used. It is true that you can't do as detailed of a setup as, say, a Linksys or Asus router (and if you're used to a Cisco router, this will depress you). Having said that, I haven't needed to. The Google WiFi router seems to understand more or less the purpose of what I'm doing and set itself up for it. The mesh feature has worked exceptionally well. Before this router setup, I had a great dead spot in my bedroom that would mean I had to move around my phone at times to get a page to load. I put one router in the bedroom and now have 5 bars and faster speeds than I thought possible. I am very satisfied with the performance and setup of this system. I hope that it lasts a good long time!

Great wireless experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this for a 2 family house in a residential area with a lot of wifi interference. My old wifi routers were unreliable and dropped wifi frequently. I also needed extenders to reach different floors. This 1 product solved all my issues basically right out the box. Set up was easy, and 3 was the perfect amount to completely cover the house. I haven't noticed any slowdown in speed, video streaming is absolutely fine all over the house. I noticed the Internet went down a few times, but I'm sure it was the modem. Once the modem reset itself, the Google wifi was back online without any intervention from me. I haven't needed to do anything since I bought it. The only downside is you only get 2 ethernet ports per google wifi, and on the main one, 1 port is needed for the modem. Depending on how many you need, and the location of the google wifis, this could be an issue. I would ideally have 2-3 devices connected to the main wifi but I can't have that. Otherwise, this is a great product and I highly recommend it.

Works great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this as my old router started to die. I live in a smallish single-level townhouse (~960 sqft), so I didn't need the 3-pack. Setup was dead simple, instructions that come with it and on the app are well written and easy to follow. Only hiccup I ran into was when it went to reboot after the initial set up I couldn't connect to it anymore and I thought I bricked it. Turns out my phone jumped over and connected to my Chromecast when it lost the Google WiFi signal. Got the Chromecast unplugged and redid the setup with no issues. As someone who works in IT and has used open source router firmware in the past (DD-WRT and Tomato) I was a little afraid the WiFi would be too simplistic, but in the end I was able to configure the settings I wanted. I was able to set DHCP reservations and do port forwarding for games. It defaults to using Google's public DNS, but you can change it to something else if you want. Only being able to get to the configuration on my phone is a bit annoying, I'd prefer to be able to use a web interface on my computer, but the App is well designed and easy to use. Wi-Fi coverage is good, the puck is in the front of my townhouse in the living room and I get full signal at the back in the bedroom. I like how it does regular checks to ensure my internet connection is good. I've had it for a few weeks now and I'm completely satisfied with it so far. I'd highly recommend the Wi-Fi to anyone who needs a new router and wants something simple that works well.

Next gen router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing set of routers. Excellent coverage, excellent speed, easy to set up. I was dealing with wifi issues upstairs at my home - i have set up two of these now. One downstair and one upstairs. The entire house now has flawless network. The only downside would be the lack of USB port (cant connect wired printer) & lack of some advanced router features like website blocking. Still 5 stars all the way.

Excellent home WiFi solution with easy setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally, WiFi woes in my parents home is over! I have tried a number of solutions over the past couple of years, but nothing worked. Since they are not the most "tech savvy", I had to pitch in from time to time to solve WiFi issues in the 3000 sq-ft+ apartment. Tried WiFi Extenders: did not work reliably. Same issue with powerline adapters and using other routers as access points: works great when you set it up, but breaks down the moment you leave! Finally, Google WiFi gave me the peace of find I needed. Setup was easy - especially when the primary unit setup is completed correctly. This can be done only through the Android (or iOS app), there's not webpage-style setup whatsover. Extending the network by the auxiliary units was easy as pie. I did however face some issue with the primary unit set up: since the internet service required static IP, the automatic process failed and asked me to contact Google Support. Instead of that suggestion, I tried the setup from the start again, and instead of the automatic setup, chose the manual path and was able to put all the Gateway and other required info. I don't understand why this was not suggested immediately when the automatic setup failed - no need to call support for just this issue! The lights on the "modules" are quite helpful, and they can be dimmed as well which is a really nice touch. Overall, the network I setup is running strong for more than a month now. Finally I'm done with fiddling with router settings!

perfect conection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.6 I have been using both basic Access points/WiFi routers and more advanced gear for years. Our latest was a Netgear Nighthawk, which worked great as an omni-directional Access Point, but wasn't so good as a Router. I put a Ubiquiti Networks router, in my front of the Netgear, which made things stable, fast, and met all our needs. I did try wifi extenders, but didn't like how they required you to set up an additional SSID for thier location, so if I moved though our the house it would eventually require an handoff, which was never seemless. I also think there was a security flaw in this setup, but don't remember. I wanted a greater signal spread in our 3200 sqft multi-story house, so I first bought Luma, while keeping an eye on Eero and Orbi. I liked the security features of Luma, but when I tried to set it up, it had a hard time finding the DHCP assigned IP address from my Cisco/Charter Cable modem. After working on thier gear for numerous hours with thier wonderful customer service, and I seriously do mean wonderful, I gave up and returned thier gear. I still wanted a mesh wifi, and this is right when Google wifi was available for pre-order. After it arrived 30 days later, it took me ~15 min to set up, establish groups, do some port forwarding, and reassign few devices that dropped thier connection. Speed test returned fast great results both from hard wired desktops and wifi connected devices. I connect both Android and IOS phones, iPads and Android based tablets, Ooma VoIP, SmartThings hub, Nest thermostat, Ring Pro door bell, Sonos, Chronecast, FireTV, Nvidia Shield Android TV, Roku 3, both Windows and Mac laptops, Windows 10 desktop, WiiU, 3DS, Tivo, Qnap NAS, HP Laser printer, Epson Muti-Inkjet Printer, and a couple of Echos to the network. I also connect my Ethernet based devices via various switches throughout the house. Everything works great and and has a strong signal. I agree with all posts that say this is a very simple device, and provides very limited advanced networking features, especially when compared to my Ubiquiti router. I have decided to give up my multiple SSIDs for 2.4 and 5Ghz frequencies, routing protocols, subnets, and VPN Into my network, because I really didn't need it. Also, the Google wifi sets up ONE SSID for all frequencies, and determines the best frequency based on signal strength, beam firming capability, and overall speed. Although I can force a 5G via my device, I figured I will only change this if I experience any lag or delay, which hasn't been a problem thus far. We cut the cord a while back and stream multiple session, at once of PlayStation Vue, Netflix, Amazon Video, Plex, HBO Now, Starz Play, Spotify, and Kodi without problem I also play online shooter like BF4, BF1, and Titan Fall2, whithout port forwarding set up, and haven't experienced and lag. I of course set my desktop as a priority device, in settings, to ensure the streaming video doesn't affect my gaming. This would sometimes happen with my previous set up, when we were all streaming something, even with QOS turned on. In summary, although a simple solution, it does everything I want, thus getting 5 stars. I hope for greater networking features as time goes on, and if I experience any problems, then I may reevaluate my review. One suggestion for all users is to hardwire the APs if you have the chance. The wireless mesh works flawless, but if you want the best performance possible, then hardware the APs, which will produce the fastest mesh network available today. This is when compared to Orbi, Eero, or Luma. This has been validated by numerous consumer and trade rag reviews. Orbi does offer some more features and a faster all wireless mesh setup, due to the dedicated network channel, but it also costs $100 dollars more for a two AP solution. I hope this helps and provides some perspective. « less

Easy to set up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You need a smart phone and you need to know how to load aps. Once you have the app loaded the program is easy to use and walks you through all phases of the setup. It was easy and the results were great. I am able to monitor all devices that are connected to the modem. You can even designate any device to be a prime device that will operate at the highest speed available.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great, had a dead spot in my home which was barely getting 3 Mps and the other rooms suffered from reduce speeds. After setting up Google WiFi my home is now fully covered with every room at full speed of 100 Mps. It was super easy to set up out of the box, the app works great in helping to set it up quickly. Fixed our internet issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had been plagued with internet connectivity and speed issues ever since we bought our new home. Our internet provider had been out to our home multiple times. We had replaced servers, routers, wiring from the street to the home, etc. Our AV guy even installed a $750 commercial antenna that was supposed to fix the issue. It was better, but not fixed, and my son still couldn’t play Fortnite in his playroom over the garage. So...I decided to give the mesh a whirl. It was very simple to install, and literally within 30 minutes we had internet everywhere in the house, getting 120 mbps in most areas, with 60 mbps being the worst (the one room farthest away from the server in the basement). Our AV guy removed his antenna, and we’ve never had any issues since then.
