When it comes to Goosebumps I am somewhat of an old man. I remember when the book series started, as well as I remember working hard in school so my parents would purchase me some of the books from the book fair or the scholastics book-order in class. I hated reading, but I loved two things literary as a kid; one being Scary Stories and the other being Goosebumps. Having read all the originals as a kid and watching my son work his way through the old series and the new, it was good to see that the film catered to both of us. Jack Black was great as R.L. Stine. The movie featured a great blend of all the old monsters that us older readers will remember from the books. I must admit, as an adult I was still excited to see these creatures brought to life, and in such a fun way. It was enough to drive me back to old Goosebumps TV series for some nostalgia viewing.

very good movie for adults and teen kids.. scary..

When I saw this movie for such a good price, I thought “Sounds too good to be true” because it also came with the digital copy. Me and my daughter watch movies a lot on my laptop so I almost always insist on getting the dvd/Blu-ray/digital. I was really disappointed when I got home that this did not actually come with the digital copy. I saw another customer had this issue. So Best Buy, please fix this problem so somebody else isn’t as disappointed as I am.

I remember the Goosebumps series being around when my kids were in school, but they never really got into them. Now that they are grown, my husband and I toss out the occasional "Movie Night" so we get the family together for some comfort food and relaxation time. This flick was a winner. The story and characters were enjoyable and special effects pretty well done. This one will be kept in our movie library with a star on it.

Although, R.L. Stine is a kid's writer, this movie could scare anyone of any age. Great monsters , both scary looking(wolfman) and some kind of cute looking(garden gnomes). All treacherous & after the teens in this super movie. It has, of course the twist at the end that Stine is noted for.

Zach (Dylan Minnette) and his Vice Principle mom Gale (Amy Ryan) move to Madison, Delaware next to the home of R.L. Stine (Jack Black). Through a series of mishaps, Stine's magical books are opened releasing all the monsters from his stories. Stine has a daughter Hannah (Odeya Rush) as our two teens are crushing on each other.

The movie stays very loyal to the roots of the books and the TV series, but it renews some aspects in order to appeal to older fans, but also to kids that have very little knowledge about Goosebumps. You'll see a lot of the Monsters that used to haunt you when you were little, being comedic but also creepy at the same time.

I read a few Goosebumps books decades ago in elementary school, so it was interesting to see the film adaptation. It's a family film. I recognized the ventriloquist dummy character as I had actually read that book. The Israeli descent female child actress who played the girl in The Giver is in this as well. Jack Black is funny of course.

Not bad for what it is, it grows on you. Daughter loves it.

Family fun movie about magic and fantasy. A joyful jaunt into a dream land of magnificent characters. Excellent depictions of flights of fancy lol Jack Black is amazing in this film. Some of his best work.

We love this movie. Not normally a Jack Black fan but he does a good job in this movie period would not recommend the second Goosebumps totally different quality of moving

I picked up the movie because my grandson read a number of the books, expecting it to be similar fare and something I could tolerate, but was surprised by a well done, relatively sophisticated story. Lots of fun to watch after a somewhat slow start.
