New to GoPro and didn't think about that the camera is in a waterproof case so the Mic would sound a little muffled. Purchased the frame and the Rode Video Mic Pro, however after all of the reviews about how you can find a cheaper version and several horror stories. Spend the extra $7 or $8 and get the piece from the manufacture tried and tested. No headaches works GREAT!

This is a must have if you plan on running an external microphone. No name brands wont work with an external microphone.

Will allow you to use a 3.5mm jack to plug into the usb port on the side of the camera for microphone input.

This simple cable allows me to record the roar of a rally car directly from the motor, without recording the voices of the drivers. Perfect roar! The quality of the product is very good. It doesn't disconnect even with the vibrations of a rally car. Does its job perfectly.

Can't trust 3 party adaptors anywhere else due to the fact that they don't work, if you need something that will work all the time and like me I motor vlog so this worked perfect, grab this one and GoPro branded products only!

I thought this was what I needed, but it wasn't. Return was very easy.

I use this adapter to connect to a Stilo intercom system in a rally car. We have not had any issues with it. GoPro gives a pretty limited list of what systems it will work with, but we have had success with several intercom systems.

Not much to say about this - it works like it should.

I bought this to run audio to my gopro from sound board and it works like it should.

I used this in on my motorcycle helmet to pickup my voice as I ride. It works well with the microphone that I use and does exactly what it says it will without issue. Build quality seems good, but I have noticed some strain on the GoPro USB port as well as strain on the USB male end of this adapter. I called GoPro before I did the setup and was told this was OK for an intended use. Over the course of about 47 days the port gave out as the male end of the cable broke off inside of the GoPro. GoPro backed both of their products and set me straight in about a week. It is worth mentioning that I was outside of the BB exchange/return period, but the store said that they would have worked with me if I was within that period. The replacement cable has been going strong for some time now and there is no stress showing after multiple high speed track days and daily highway commutes.
