    Must buy a separate mic. I had to by a pitted that separated the mic from the headphone to use my earbuds. Best buy does not sell a small lapel mic in stores.

    Good product but short cable makes it useless. Also you have to buy a new case for the camera which costs additional money. So before you buy this i would recommend buying a case with a hole on the side

    ...turned out I didn't need it. The microphone I purchased can be plugged in directly to the camera. I might be missing the point of this adapter, but not sure why you would need it.

    You have to buy this if you want to connect a mic to your camera. $20 is a little pricey, and I was not too impressed by the quality of the sound.

    The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because of the price. It's such a simple cord that it should really only cost $5-10, but of course, since it's an official GoPro product, it costs twice as much. If you want to record better sound directly into your GoPro camera though, it's a must to use an external microphone, making this adapter mandatory.
