Takes great video and photos and is easy to take anywhere you want to go.

The video output quality and ease of use were terrific! The videos I have made those not there feel like they were right there. The GoPro branded accessories leave a bit to be desired.

Great picture quality for such a small camera ,extremely versatile. Only down side is the battery life. My screen attachment will kill the battery within a couple of hours of constant use.

Some thoughts on GoPros in general (I have and regularly use two): 1. The video is highly compressed. Most video editors will mislead you into thinking you're creating a wonderful final rendering, but the truth is the highly compressed video plays lousy on most media/streaming options (interestingly, I've found that Blu-Ray burns are much more acceptable). You will recognize the lousy video from the "Jello-ey" movement of elements in the frame, as well as skipped frames. There are options to decompress the video and possibly "fix" these issues, but who wants to convert 64-GB of video into a TB or more of video for editing purposes? 2. User interface is atrocious. Atrocious. Even the touch sensitive back is little better. 3. Battery life is atrocious. However, if used in a vehicle (as I do), then be aware that adapters for the Garmin line of GPS devices (you do have an old one, admit it!) may work directly with the GoPro. Don't try a USB car adapter, because the GoPro will think it's plugged into a computer and not turn on. Use the Garmin adapter (or similar) to make it realize it's plugged in for power and not data. 4. Get the Skeleton housing if you want audio. It's also necessary so that you can leave the GoPro plugged in (number 3 above). 5. Wi-Fi is "iffy" at best. If it's important to get right the first time, don't trust Wi-Fi. Personally, I've given up on Wi-Fi. Too many instances of the camera locking up and needing the battery pulled to recover. Not a big problem if the camera is in the Jeep with me, but that's not how I want Wi-Fi to work. I want it to control the camera on the Land Rover in front of me, and it's a hassle stopping our activities because the GoPro locked up.

Fun to use. 4k is amazing. First go pro I've owned. Just wish it had a zoom setting on the camera itself

Great picture and video quality. Battery life is still horrible especially when running WiFi or Bluetooth. Still uses the mini usb from the early 20's so you have to either buy a new charger cable or you're stuck with embarrassingly short cable provided. The battery is redesigned so say bye bye to all of you're extras but the backpack works if you have it (if you don't, it's a must). Doesn't come with the Smart Remote which is ridiculous considering it costs $500 , and you have to download the manual which is also....stupid. I don't care what they say, it starts up slower than my hero 3+ Black. Anyways, the new settings button is great and makes changing function waaay easier. I've done a Night Mode Time Lapse of the recent Blood Moon and it was awesome. Strapped it to my dog and it was the funniest thing I've ever seen but I'm waiting on surf to see how it really does. Oh yeah...if you're shooting 4k@30fps, your video will be about 3gb at 3 minutes and takes 35 minutes to download to phone using the app. So you may need a nice laptop/computer. If you have the $$ I wouldn't think twice about it but cant imagine buying the silver w/ the built in screen...then you have ZERO versatility. Buy the 4Black. End rant.

Needed an action cam for my trip to Vegas and was debating between this product and the sony 4k action cam and it seemed to me that the Sony action cam has better features but I liked the shape of the GoPro better so I went with the GoPro and I am pretty satisfied with my purchase and shot some amazing video in Vegas and at the Grand Canyon with my family. Love the wifi feature where you can send photos and videos right to your smartphone!

Love the features and high definition video. Only drawback is the battery life, especially when using clip on color monitor. Only gets about 40 minutes of life before recharging.

I love these cameras. They shoot great video up to 4k. However, they come set to extra wide and you get a lot of fisheye if you are indoors with them or go next to a building or wall or similar. I have to set the camera to the middle size setting to eliminate that fisheye lens look. I tried the software but it makes the people's heads stretch so that won't work for an inside the house or building usage. But overall, these cameras rock.

This camera is so good. Especially for video. My only complaint is you can't see what the pictures look like because there is no screen to look at. It wasn't really mean for pictures but sometimes it will help. Video looks great the editing software is super easy to use. I would definitely get this if you are into extreme sports or anything adventurous. I have videos of volleyball and other stuff here if you want to see it in action!... this camera takes good video, 4k is amazing, once you plug it into your tv the images are amazing.

Awesome product! Took it to San Francisco a few weekends ago and got some great footage. Very clear, easy to use, and convenient. Would definitely recommend this product.

This camera appears to be very complicated, with the gopro app, updates, accessories , etc., but once you sit down with it, it actually is very manageable . Love the size and mounting accessories, and the editing capabilities, but the Hero 4 Black has no view screen like the silver edition. There is an accessory (LCD touch bacpac) that solves the problem. I think that the added expense is worth the superiority of the Black edition.

My GoPro is exactly what I was looking for in a action camera. Amazing quality and easy to use.
