This generation of GO PRO is a definite improvement on the previous one. You can shoot in protune, in 4K and has much better low light performance. There is more control over the settings, which allows the budding cinematographer to get exactly what he/she wants from the scene. Me personally, I suspend it beneath a Phantom 2 on a 3 axis gimbal and the results are nothing short of spectacular. If you want to use GOPRO software to edit your pictures, you can download it for free from their website. There are numerous tutorials on youtube to give you hints on getting the most of your footage, and shooting better footage with it in the first place. I use Premier for editing but I have downloaded this also. Out of the box you will need to charge it which can be done through any USB port. There are a number of mounts in the box as well, and don't forget to fit the tether! If you are going to fit it to a multirotor I recommend buying the insurance from best buy - the chaps on FLITETEST can vouch for Best Buy's plan and it is small piece of mind for a camera flying in a dynamic environment. The Black version does not come with the LCD viewfinder on the back but I have no application for this feature. I fitted the optional one to my GOPRO version 1 and seldom used it in the field. A great little camera, able to capture stunning vision and record in 4K. Highly recommended

The GoPro - HERO4 Black 4K Action Camera is the perfect tool to catch just about your entire view of what ever you want to record. It can be mounted on your helmet, a stick that is made for the camera to hold up when you need more height and much much more. It is very small , light and compact. It is very cool! You can get a water proof case and are able to catch video wet or dry. The uses are limitless if you want to catch the action.

This is a fantastic camera for anyone from a beginner to a professional. The video and still image quality is outstanding. This is a much better camera than I could've ever expected. The fact that it is small waterproof and practically indestructible is merely a plus. All that being said the only thing I can say that is not fantastic is the price point. What do you expect when you're getting such a fine product .

This camera has come in really handy for trips. I love how easy it is to you compared to other camera's. I also playback the videos on my 70 inch tv and they look great! I would highly recommend this for anyone I actually want to buy a second one. Only down side is battery. But easy fix is just to buy a battery dock and a couple batteries. They aren't too expensive. Over all great buy!

Was apprehensive of this purchase because I didn't think I would really use it. But after playing with it & seeing the quality of both video & photos and all of the features, I am so glad I did. The uses really are endless thanks to the unlimited choices of accessories. You can even strap it on your dog and get a whole new perspective! Been having a blast producing home videos about nothing. Sunrise time lapse, roller coasters in Orlando, water rides, covert surveillance operations, vehicle dash board video of daily commutes just in case of an accident (or more realistically the hilarious video you capture of someone doing something ridiculously dumb like crash their bike into the back of a stopped bus). Wifi iPhone viewing option is amazing! Just need to carry several extra batteries bc the battery dies pretty quickly when recording decent quality video, using the wifi connection, or the add-on lcd viewing screen. Thinking of buying another of the same GoPro model so I can really get creative!

So far the only downfall I have come across is the short battery life when recording video in 4k and also the fact that the camera shuts down due to overheating. The lower the resolution the longer you can record without overheating. Other than that the quality is amazing so if you are taking short videos or pictures this is definitely worth it. For long videos in 4k I would look elsewhere.

I bought this for doing diagnostics on various mechanical parts on cars & machines. My background is engineering so I'm biased that way. But can be fun for everyday family outings. Take it to the track & record your driving habits, learn to make improvements. Is robust and easy to use. The video quality is excellent, do get the free studio software. The front display can be a little hard to read due to reflections, the Data Bacpac solves that. Small enough to put almost anywhere. The ability to play at slower or faster speeds than recorded is helpful to understand mechanical relationships. The water tight case will block most audio, you'll need a different back for better audio.

ive been using it for almost 10 days now, ive exchange the sony with this one just because i just couldnt live with the sonys design and UI. the picture is great the color even thoo isnt 100percent true but still pleasing to my eye especially in 4k. im always shooting in 4k with flat color and protune on with some tweak on the settings regarding of what im shooting. the build quality is good without the protective case, but i just wish for the next gen they would buid them using aluminium body or something to make it more durable when used without the protective case. i shoot alot without the protective case because it would only fit on my handheld gimbal feiyu g4 without it. the battery life is not the best even worse when you attach the lcd backpack to it, my suggestion is get some extra batteries and charger especially if you are planning on taking your gopro on a vacation! overall the best 4k action cam out there hands down!

This camera is not very large, and is incredibly small considering how great the quality is. 4k capabilities are great, but I will say that battery life suffers while shooting in 4k. This is a great camera if you're looking for amazing video quality.

Great camera for any sport loving or outgoing person! Shoots great video and awesome pictures! For the Price I would like to see a bigger memory card come with it! The only downside is the lack of battery!! I would invest in a second battery from GoPro as well. It is super easy to use even as a beginner and once you know the editing systems videos become amazing!

Tried out the camera in Disney World last week. Even on the rides the quality of the video was excellent. I just wish I would bought the remote. I have a lot of video with my fingers in the way. The sound get muted with the standard water proof case. My next camera related purchase will be extra batteries. The standard one does not last that long with the camera on and the heat runs down the battery really fast. Bottom line: I would buy this camera again and again. Oh, the software included with the camera is very user friendly.

Small, lightweight, incredibly powerful, incredibly versatile. The camera is the undisputed heavyweight champion of definition, frame rate, and mounts to let you do anything you can think of. I guess the question for a first time purchaser is, do you need such capabilities? Nothing else comes close. I just wirelessly updated the camera and they made significant changes to available frame rates, and it automatically inverts the image when mounted upside down, as well as shoots time lapse as video now, meaning you don't have to convert hundreds of stills. I still haven't taken it skiing yet, and that's why I bought it. I've used it in the pool, fishtank, and time lapsed my ride to work for some cool experimentation. It's well thought out, and the free editing software works well.

This is my 5th goPro. I have drowned, crashed, and exploded all but 1 of my previous ones. My first goPro was the hero 2. This version (hero4 black) reminds me of the 2 due to it not having the terrible square battery the 3 had. This new shaped battery seems to be better, but I am concerned that it won't last long on 4kmode. I purchased the touch screen. I've only had this thing for 1 day, but I can tell I'm not going to fall in love with the screen. It's nice to see what you are shooting, but most of the time my goPro will be on a quadcopter. I like this camera for its size and simplicity- but it's not the be all end all. Great lowlight? Compared to what? 4k...great, but I won't be trading in my Epic. For a little camera tho it's great!

This small camera takes awesome footage, I like how you can go underwater with it inside it's clear case. There are so many attachments you can shoot from anywhere

I love this camera. The GoPro 4k is a awesome action camera. I love the improved features for capturing high quality video. I use it for motorcycling, biking, outings with the family and anything else I may want to film. One drawback is that the camera can overheat and deplete battery life quickly if you are recording with the camera stationary. Filming in excess of 15 minutes in 4k with the camera in a stationary position causes this symptom. I never had the problem while out and about on a bike or motorcycle. Mainly at home with kids or at the park with the camera while the kids play. I do like the improved manual video capturing features. Auto-tune works well too.

Everything advertised about this camera is there. The video quality is to be expected and the versatility to do what you want with an action camera is present. I only have a few gripes about the entire experience: 1.You get raked over the coals for mounts. To effectively use your camera you need a few mounting options. With a minimum of twenty dollars for any accessory, that adds up quick. 2. The companion app experience on mobile devices leaves much to be desired. When it works it's fine, but reconnecting with cameras, updating them, and even chasing the settings can be a pain at times. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. I would recommend that you buy your camera a few days before your first outing so that you can be familiar with its function.

This GoPro-Hero4 is a good camera and make nice videos, also is easy to use. All my friends use my camera and they don´t have any problem in use it. The 4K is real and make nice videos.

The new GoPro is amazing!!!! Easy to use, picture quality is perfect!! The battery life is a bit short. Needed to charge it often. Otherwise great choice. You will not be disappointed

I got this camera for the HD video taking capabilities to record activities related to tennis. I love the versatility this camera offers with all the available mounts. I personally use this camera on a mounting system to record matches from a top down angle. On a personal note, I'm curious to see what I would get when strapping it to my dog or my daughter. Great HD quality and software makes it easy to use. Word of caution, if you are wanting to make presentations at the highest quality, make sure your computer is up to specs to handle it. I had some slowdown in videos processed at 1080p at 60FPS as my laptop is just a hair below that level.

I bought the Hero4 Black at Best Buy. I really wanted 4K but was concerned about not having the LCD screen to see what I was shooting. The Best Buy associate advised me that I could add the LCD screen so I could view what I was shooting. It is slightly bigger but hardly noticeable since these are such compact cameras anyway. I added the screen attachment and bought extra batteries due to the power demands of the LCD screen which is needed for either the Silver of the Black GoPros. I am so glad I did upgraded!! This camera takes phenomenal pictures in 4K which are incredible on my 4k TV. I am just a beginner but got absolutely stunning shots while I was in Turks and Caicos with my family a week after I bought the camera. I got great underwater still shots and videos. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of shots I got while parasailing and just hanging out on the beach. The camera is easy to use and love the GoPro app I use with my iPhone. I would recommend this camera to anyone and the extra $ I spent on this model and the screen accessory was well worth it!!
