Great quality and options. Only complaint is the editing software for 360 is in beta on windows. I can only edit on my phone. I added 2 photos. One is taken at my work with the selfie stick and the one I'm on the bike is showing the camera attached to my windshield taken by a photographer on the Tail of the Dragon. I also have an attachment for the top of helmet. Trying to figure out with one I like better. Overall. I'm happy with my purchase. Nothing is perfect!

Love this camera! I do adventure cycling and have always struggled with action cameras because I can never seem to get the right shot, but with this 360 camera I catch all the action all the time!
It was a toss up for me between the Max and the Insta 360 One X2, but GoPro’s app and support really won me over. With their subscription I can upload all my media to the cloud and get 3 camera replacements a year. I hope they come out with an update to do slomo in 360 mode, but that’s honestly my only complaint.

I'm a big fan of GoPro. All my action cameras are GoPro. I love this GoPro MAX 360 because: It's 360-degree capture and also works as a single-lens camera. You can also shoot a photo using this GoPro. It has Intuitive software tools. I like the strong stabilization when you're riding motorcycle. It has a good in-camera audio. It's a waterproof camera without a case (I haven't tried it yet). It has integrated mounting clips.

As the founder of #TheArmy, I have been in need of an economical yet professional-ish solution to my 360 degree video needs. While editing can be a pain, especially if you only own a Windows machine, the video itself can open up some amazing opportunities for the right minded folks!
As you can see from below, it also takes amazing pictures(this was on a lower quality setting to save room)!

I was reluctant to invest in this as I've found Gopro to be less than user friendly (glitches in the app, etc) but I'm glad I did! I haven't had it long enough to explore all the features, but primarily bought it for it's underwater use. I love being able to just set it on video and snag pictures from that footage! Of course it picks up particles in the water like most cameras, but I'm really happy with them, and am enjoying the camera!

GoPro’s have been on the market for years and after owning several of them, I feel like I know their strengths and weaknesses well. That said, this is my first dive into a 360 version. While many may never need a 360 camera, to have it when you need it is a luxury that you may not even know you want until you try it for yourself. GoPro has made taking 360 videos easy. With a great App to support every feature available, you will be controlling and editing your videos with minimal effort. If 360 video is not your thing, you can also use this camera in Hero mode, which only enables one of the two cameras at a time.
While all of the information in this review (and a whole lot more) is always readily available online, I wanted to share my own personal experiences, likes, and dislikes regarding the 360 Max. Read on for the good, the bad, and the ugly.
PROS:
360 video creation is easy and seamless with the native GoPro App. Using the App and your device, you can create “keyframe” moments in your 360 footage to effectively change your camera angle throughout your videos before rendering the final cut.
The stabilization (Max HyperSmooth) is crazy good. Normally you would need a gimbal to get anywhere even close to this level. Footage comes out looking buttery smooth, even over rough terrain. Walking and running also offer very stable footage. Great for selfie bloggers, traveling, or even chasing your kids around the park, etc.
The Max has six microphones built in helping you achieve spatial stereo audio in your 360 videos. While I haven’t tried the mics in a loud environment, such as a concert, I can say that they do their job well under normal audio levels.
The GoPro App is thought out well and is very easy to navigate. It will enable you to get deeper into your settings than the touchscreen will provide. That said, the touchscreen is bright, clear, and gives access to all of the most important quick features you will need while shooting.
The TimeWarp function is really cool. Very much like a Timelapse, only easier and much more stable. I find that this is one of my absolute favorite features of this camera. Mixing super fast video with the buttery smooth stabilization is very satisfying.
Horizon leveling is also a cool feature and works as you would imagine, by keeping the horizon level when shooting. This comes in handy when snowboarding, mountain biking, or similar.
Power panoramas is another great feature when shooting stills. Normally when you take a panorama, you are dragging/rotating your camera left or right, or stitching several images together. With this camera, it does it all in one shot, therefore eliminating any overlapping, or artifacting. Very useful if there are any moving objects in your frame.
A couple of other features that I don’t use, but are worth noting, is the fact that you can live stream (in 1080) and use GPS.
While all of the aforementioned features are great to offer, there is still a LOT of room for improvement with this camera, which leads me to…
CONS:
My number one con with GoPros in general is image quality. This is only compounded in low light scenarios (which in real life, is often). Other GoPro models offer a “low light” mode which honestly only makes your footage marginally better, but for some reason this is not available on the 360 Max. If you are shooting anywhere other than bright sunny conditions, you will encounter very high amounts of digital noise. Honestly, I won’t even use it unless I am outside during daytime hours. I keep the max ISO at 100 and if it is too dark to use it otherwise, I simply use a different camera, or none at all.
While the 360 video shoots in 5.6K using both cameras, you for some reason, only get 1440p when in Hero mode. What?! In comparison, the standard Hero 8 Black will shoot in 4K, so if you need a higher resolution sensor and don’t need 360, I would consider that model instead. Which leads me to framerate… The 360 allows for up to 60fps in Hero mode, but the Hero Black offers up to 240 for super slo-mo. Recording bitrate is also slightly higher with the Hero 8 at 100Mbps vs. 78 on the 360.
Both lenses protrude from the camera body, making them easily susceptible to scratching and damage. Always be sure to use one of the protective covers that are included.
Lastly, you cannot take photos in RAW mode which is yet another strike on this model.
Without putting the 360 Max head-to-head against the Hero 8 Black in every category, I would have to conclude with the fact that (IMHO) image quality is everything. Where the 360 falls short in comparison to the Hero 8 Black’s IQ, it does its own thing (360) quite well.
Ultimately, if you want a 360 camera that is easy to use, is small and light, and has excellent stabilization, I can recommend this for some fun footage. If you are chasing pixels and want the best resolution you can get out of an action camera, go with the Hero 8 Black instead.
In summary…
PROS:
360 video with software keyframing
Max HyperSmooth stabilization is amazing
Size and weight
Touchscreen
Fold away mount
6 Mics with spatial audio
TimeWarp
Horizon level
PowerPano (single image)
Live streaming mode
GPS
CONS:
Supposed to have included 64GB micro SD card, mine was a 32GB
Image quality suffers severely (extremely noisy) when pushing ISO levels
No low light mode
HERO mode only up to 1440? No 4K
Max frame rate 60
No RAW photos or HDR

The GoPro Max 360 is my first experience with any GoPro brand. And I will echo what almost everyone says and say myself that these tiny little action cameras are great but not without 1 personal dislike.
I’ll start with saying that if you are into sports, the outdoors or maybe even a content creator. That this brand is hands down the go to.
So this obviously is the 5.6k 360 version(1080px2?). So it is aimed at a certain crowd. But anyone can really pick it up and get the hang of it.
The camera sensor while small is great while shooting in 360 mode. Very clear and super steady, amazingly steady. Almost unreal. I don’t imagine i will be using this for still shots. As I have a mirrorless. But I can vouch for the still picture quality being great if you are goin camping or doing simple recreational activities. But thats it. The main objective is to create cool and unique 360 videos. Which I tried a few time and failed. Lol. But I’m new to this.you can also live vlog as I think I will get more into.i want to give youtube a try now that I have this awesome camera.
I purchased a new selfie stick/GoPro camera mount and tried out the app.
The app is very easy to use. It connects over WiFi and I believe the camera also connects via Bluetooth. Connection a good. No issues there. Tho if you turn off then on and record a video. You will have to simple connect the camera to the app to send the video over to your phone for download editing and even upload. I am still learning to stitch or put certain points together to make some cool videos. I haven’t yet tested it under water as it’s a bit cold now. But it’s rough and rugged that’s what I love the most.
I am soon goin to be purchasing the suction mount and make some 360 videos showcasing my car(very nice) and a few friends cats as well. We are all excited about that. That’s more our passion vs mountain climbing or extreme biking.
Touchscreen controls are easy and very responsive. As expected. Not every option is available through the touchscreen but you can do even more Through the app.
So there are 2 things that I as a new comer to GoPro don’t love. 1st is (huge) the battery life. Wow. It’s bad. I mean like from 100 to 90% just making 3 minute video. I was shocked. But I think I heard this was normal as these are tiny and I can imagine taking 360 videos with 2 camera uses a lot of juice. Plus it’s USB C so fast charge is there also. .so kinda understandable and the extra batteries are only 20$. So not the end of the world I guess.
Secondly is the app subscription. While I get it’s cheap. It’s still extra. To me I think it should be free.
BUT I believe this covers your camera replacement as well. Included no questions ask. So that is a great compromise. At least the GoPro folks are generous.
I’m no GoPro Pro. So take my advice as you will. I hope to get the hang of this awesome little camera. Well built and great features deserve this price tag easily.
Good luck and make sure you get at least a high speed U3 micro sd memory card. You will need it.
A must buy especially if this is an investment in your happiness.

Mind blowing 360 degree 5.6k action camera

Having used three GoPro products in the past, they have really stepped up to set the bar for action cameras once again with the GoPro Max. This is the first GoPro I have used with the 360 capability. Included in the package is the camera, soft carrying case, two protective lens covers, a USB-C charging cable, GoPro stickers and instruction/warranty manuals. The design of the GoPro Max is definitely different than the standard GoPro models as it is taller and thinner with a digital camera on each side, a smaller touch screen to take up less space on the device, the collapsable mounting bracket on the bottom, battery and SD card slot on one side, power button on the other side and capture button on the top. The device still feels as durable as the other models however is encapsulated with a softer material, I assume to protect it from damage, drops, etc.. I’m really glad they were able to make the device waterproof, up to 16 feet according to the manual, so you won’t have to come out of pocket for any additional cases for underwater filming. Now to my favorite parts and why people are in the market for action cameras, the clarity and functionality. I haven’t been this impressed with a camera and its functionality since they upgraded the motion stability on the GoPro 7. Not only did they obviously keep that technology with this camera, they upgraded it to Max Hypersmooth and added the horizon stability function to where you can turn the camera at 45 degree angles and the camera will remain level with the horizon. It was easy to set up the camera using the GoPro smartphone application and you can even live view and control the camera functions in the app. You can view and download your media through the app or opt for GoPro’s Plus service which gives you unlimited cloud storage, damaged camera replacement coverage and 50% mounts and accessories. Other upgrades from the previous version are the 5.6K, 30 fps, 360 degree mode, which you can toggle between on the touch screen, and the video looks almost like being live in any given situation, especially when you’re in Virtual Reality. Some other features the camera does are slow-motion, 1080p live streaming, time lapse video, GPS, Max SuperView offering the widest angle views on any of their cameras including 270 degree panoramic shots, 360 degree audio, etc.. Honestly, I can’t think of any other options you would ever want on an action camera... besides maybe optical zoom which really wouldn’t make sense on an action camera, would it? Oh, and I forgot to mention probably one of the most impressive aspects, if not the most impressive, the crystal clear video you can record using either 1080p at 60 fps or up to 5.6k at 30 fps… absolutely mind blowing in my opinion, especially in a VR device. If this is what the future holds for next gen action cameras, I’m all in. Bottom line is look no further for anything better in the portable, lightweight, durable action camera market as GoPro continues to set the bar… by far. I have no doubt anyone will be any less impressed than I am with what this camera can do and the incredible videos you can get out of it.

This little camera/recorder is so very compact and easy to use. It can even take a beating and can be submerged in water for a little bit of time without affecting its life. I accidently fell in water completely submerging the GoPro worried that it would have issues but to my surprise it was fine. It takes amazing footage and the 360 feature kicks but! The only thing, which is completely understandable, is that the screen is so small that its hard to check your photos unless you are connected to your phone's bigger screen. Its a great camera/recorder for the sportsman in all of us!

So why 4 stars?
That stupid in invisible line in the video while editing.
So after reviewing your footage. O....btw, it is highly recommended you buy the insta 360 selfie stick while using this camera to avoid seeing the stick in your video footage. You can sorta edit your footage around this but is still sorta a slight inconvenience.
Pretty much everything else here is good from user interface, ease of use, battery life, video quality and size. This isn't as light nor as small of a profile as the insta one 360 X2, but it isn't far off. If you've never edited 360° footage doing so on either your laptop or via app on your phone you will have fun getting used to it but once you get it. You got it. Anyways if you want a good 360° camera, this is a good one. Make sure to get a 128gn mini SD card class 10 or higher (just look at the memory card offered by best buy to purchase with this camera)

This is my first 360 camera and my first GoPro. I found it easy to use. Although I wish there was more documentation accompanying the camera on it's usage. I taken both 360 videos and both videos and photos using just one of the two sensors. They are of good quality. I'm particular impressed with the sound the camera capture. I believe it has 8 microphones. The battery life is a bit short so I got a second battery. Since this is my first GoPro I've also had to get some additional mountain accessories.
I've downloaded the free GoPro Player app to edit the footage on my MacBook Pro. Again this App is relatively easy to use but not much documentation.
I'm glad I purchased this camera.

This camera is nothing short of amazing. I use it as a dashcam and take it off to use as a GoPro which works great! I didn't fully understand 360 cameras at first and thought they were only for super-wide trick shots. This is not the case at all. Within the software, you can make a regular video without any distortion. The difference is that after the video is taken, you have full access to point your final video anywhere you want! When you start to video, you don't have to point it at all as it captures everything around you. Just walk thru the middle or hold still and if you can see your subject, then the camera can too. It's awesome!

I love this camera. The possibilities are endless. We really enjoyed the panoramic photos. No more sweeping your hand across the horizon to capture the moment and having stitching issues. My only gripe (on top of the $500 price tag) is the lack of 4K in Hero mode. That's a little disappointing. Also doesn't perform as well at night, but I kind of expected that. Audio is great. 360 videos are really cool with the key framing (which is quite simple to operate). I think this is a really well-rounded camera...
