GoTrax XR ADVANCE Commuting Electric Scooter w/12mi Max Operating Range & 15.5mph Max Speed
Summary: Smaller, but capable commuting scooter.
Pros:
* Industrial look offers a pronounced get-to-work aesthetic but it cuts out some of the more refined touches of its bigger cousin.
* Control. The accelerator works super well and offers great control - expected for a GoTrax.
* Breaks. The brakes are equally responsive and provide the stopping power you need; but beware breaking at high speeds!
* Head and tail lamps. The lamp is similar to other models. The tail lamp and flashing are less pronounced. We don't ride in the evenings much, so less of a concern.
* Battery. This unit is smaller because of its reduces range. That is okay, because we use this alongside our other GoTrax and while the limits are different, the ride is just as smooth.
* Enclosure/frame. While this unit resembles its bigger cousin, it is a bit smaller in length and weight. It feels substantial i.e. "well made."
* No frills. We have owned scooters that we use for recreation. It didn't feel safe for long distances, and it felt like it was designed for children even if it wasn't marketed as such. Maybe it was the flashing gimmicky LEDs everywhere, or the wimpy frame. This GoTrax compliments the unit we used to replace the wimpy competition and the lighter unit makes this the preferred unit for short distances particularly where we might need to fold and lug it around.
* Weight. GoTrax scooters are heavyier than the wimpy competition. This unit, though smaller than its cousin, is still hefty, but a fair trade off.
Cons:
* Charging port. I dislike proprietary charging bricks and connections. Though proprietary power is the norm, I wish it weren't. A magnetic power port would be nice since these ports will snag if you forget to disconnect before riding.
Use:
We recommend GoTrax scooters because they feel sturdy. They aren't flashy, but if short commutes are the primary function of this device in your life then this unit is perfect. We own a larger cousin and have been looking to get a pair since our previous wimpy one just went kaput after only a short while. The GoTrax deals just fine with some uneven terrain, as well, something other units have struggled with.

The GoTrax XR Advance is a fantastic lightweight electric scooter that balances portability with performance. It accelerates smoothly and reaches solid speed for daily commutes. The compact foldable design makes it easy to carry and store — perfect for city living. I appreciate the decent battery life, which comfortably covers most urban trips without worrying about frequent recharging. It rides comfortably and feels sturdy despite being light. Overall, the XR Advance is an excellent choice for anyone wanting an affordable, compact, and fun scooter for everyday use.

Arrived double boxed and well packed with Styrofoam pieces for protection. Assembly was a breeze – just pop up the tiller, attach the handlebar, and hook up the brake cable.
The scooter is constructed mainly from plastics, but there are actual wheel bearings in the wheels. The tiller is metal, and has a sturdy double latch to lock in upright position. It is equipped with a disc brake on the rear wheel, which is much better than the “push down” friction fender found on some scooters. I found the brake cable a little loose, and did a coarse brake cable adjustment as I assembled.
The scooter is tall, and looks to be intended for adults or teens. I definitely wouldn't recommend for smaller children. And anyone riding the scooter should get familiar with the scooter operation, wear protective gear, and any local laws. Keep in mind the scooter is rated of being capable of 15 MPH.
I did a test ride, and found it responsive, and easily got up to speed. The disc brake worked well, and stopped the scooter quickly. I can see where this could be good for short runs, or a high school / college student getting to class.
I think this scooter can be very useful, but there are a few things to be aware of. Charging the battery took a few hours, and depending on distance traveled, may need a re-charge for return trip. Max range is rated to be about 12 miles. You may have to plan your trip. I also found the thumb throttle to be very sensitive – trying to regulate the “take off”, or slow speed will take a little practice. And lastly, although the manual states there are different “speeds” by pushing the red button while traveling, I did not see any speeds, or change in display indicating any change.
Otherwise, it is an excellent economical means of transportation for those shorter trips. And, I am sure with a backpack, even a run to the store to pick up a few items.

The GoTrax Xr Advance is lightweight and great commuter scooter with a powerful motor and a long range of up to 14 miles. It is easy to ride and has a good build quality, but the cruise control can be a bit difficult to set up. It is also easy to read and reset the trip meter. It is a great value for the price and is a great choice for those looking for a reliable scooter.

Very happy with this affordable electric scooter. It appears to hold a good charge and works great for short trips within about 2 miles. Without enough momentum, it can struggle on mid-grade hills, but overall it's been a good value and works great for our needs.

I decided to get this scooter as a way to get around without wasting gas for a quick trip down the road. I just finished taking it for a quick ride and i am very happy with it. Its exactly what i need for a good price. It took me about 5 minutes to put it together using the supplied tools. It is light enough to easliy lift and carry up and down the stairs. The one thing worth noting is that the scooter does not have a rear break light. It does has a reflector. I got around this by getting a helmet with built in lights which I prefer since the lights will be higher and make me easier to see if/when I ride at night.

The GoTrax XR Advance is a practical, budget-friendly electric scooter for short commutes or casual riders. It’s not designed for heavy-duty usage or long-distance rides, but it’s a great option for those who need a quick, efficient, and easy-to-transport scooter for city travel. If you’re looking for something reliable and lightweight without breaking the bank, this scooter will do the job well.

Hi. I’m James, 50 years old, and I commute to work via the Sprinter and Metrolink/Surfliner. Riding to and from the train station is such a rush. Fun, exciting, and makes me feel young again. But, where this scooter is a game changer, is at the train station. On my way home from work I got to the sprinter, which takes me 7 minutes , in 4 minutes or I gotta wait an half an hour for the the next one. With the scooter I get there in 2 minutes. Game changer!

Great scooter overall. U can let go of the theottle while riding long enough and the scooter continues to move. Thats a cool feature. Very lightweight. Just closing and ooening can be a bit better. Closing u have to use thands to pull a knob and push down a lever. To open u press down on a hook release in the back of the scooter. One thing i hate about thia scooter is while closed bothe qheels do not touch the ground. Only one does leaving u to readjust if placing the scooter in the back seat of a car. Overall, not bad GoTrax! One more thing, scooter has to be at a full stop to power off.
