This game isn't that great. Graphics are pretty nice for their time period, but game play is slow. Also, the "gangster" voice-acting is overdone, they curse and say stereotypical phrases in every sentence. You have to learn how to play on your own because instead of a manual, they give you a map and "advertisements" in "San Andreas." The menus are not very organized. The game, however, will last a very long time because you can go onto killing sprees, grand theft auto, and just play around, exploring the expansive and very open world of San Andreas.

I am a big fan of the Grand Theft Auto series. In my opinion, of the games released so far, this was most enjoyable for me, however I was not a fan of the storyline. I think it was underdeveloped, lacked thought processing, and as far as the storyline goes, i would say this is close to the bottom of my list. Nevertheless, there is a great variety of weapons, vehicles, characters, and body functions, that until this game were not possible. Very addicting, but in a good way, I could not put down the controller once I started playing. I would recommend using cheats in this game to see its full potential. I would definitely recommend this game, despite the poor storyline.

I liked this game it was very fun and you can pick where you go and what you do. It's not like most games where they automatically take you to the mission you can drive around and go where ever you want. It had good graphics too. Has a great story line. Never gets old cause there's always something new happening. If you like shooting games buy this! It's not a waste of money!

This was easily the best game in the series imo. Don't buy it for your kids though... Just don't. Where should I start? The only thing that was not improved in this one was the graphics. I'm sure we've all read about all of the new abilities like swimming, climbing fences, sculpting your character, etc. Some of these were long overdue, but RS delivered with San Andreas. Since I probably don't have space here to go on and on about all of the things that make this game the greatest game created at the time of it's release, let me just say this. I pre-ordered it and beat it a long time ago. Since then I have given away my ps2 and now have the ps3. I've not played this in over a year, it's been too long, and I will pick up another copy tomorrow evening because it is classic and a must have for any adult gamer. Aside from graphics, I seriously doubt that GTA4 can be any better than this.

Best GTA game in the series due to the capabilities added to the character. In this game you have a better combat system, more athletic abilities like climbing over fences, and you can swim in this one. The environment is huge about 4 times the size of the previous GTA. My only complaint is that i didnt like the story because i didnt like the main character CJ. The main character youre playing as is a gang member out of jail. Unlike the previous ones, where youre just a guy trying to make it in the world, and is thrown into this. I also didnt like the whole tagging other gangs graffitti, i guess i just didnt like the protagonist story. The next one looks great though, part 4 looks like some former hitman just trying to get back on his feet and live a normal life until hes pulled back into the scene.

I was a fan of the previously released GTA's, but I really can't get into this one much. It doesn't have the same in depth feel as the others. I have more fun just going on killing sprees than advancing in the game. You are just thrown into a poorly created story that doesn't develop throughout the game. You drive, you kill, you drive some more and then you get arrested. That sums it up. Not really any worth-while improvements on the game. There is the ability to date, "tag" buildings and amp up your body, but these are just pointless features that add no real value to the game. The most shocking thing about it was the sub-par radio selection, this was just unacceptable from a GTA game! I was pretty disappointed with this new release, I wouldn't recommend it to GTA fans.

i have played gta 3,4, and 5. in my opinion this is the best one due to enjoyable gameplay and customization options. the newest gta is ok, but besides the graphical and pyshic improvements the game is not nearly as fun to play as san andreas. the map is big, there are pleny of things to do and some of the cars are fun to drive (i like the monster truck myself) and as always there are 100;s of cheats that change the time of day, weather, cars, and other elements of the game for when or if you get a little bored or just want to play it for a few minutes and do something different (i dont save after cheats due to possible save file corruption which has happened once before and most cheat sites will warn you of the same thing) the game over all is great..though i wish rockstar would make a different game similar to GTA but instead make it survival horror in a city full of zombies...would be very fun. i know that had nothing to do with san andreas so back to the point. the game features plenty of customization options including the way you look (fat, muscular, skinny) clothes, car customization and it introduces dates which is easier to deal with in this game rather than gta 5. overall the game is great, has some variety when going to a new island/part of the map, though the back country can be a little lacking when having to explore or travel. the game is great, if you havent played it but like the other gta games, this is a must own.

This is a very good game. It has a lot of good graphics. I like that you are able to basicaly go where you want and do what you want.

After beating Vice City I was looking to see what all the hype was about. I see the trailers and the pics for this game. I have to say hands down this game live completely up to the hype. Its as though they thought of everything. Being able to fly, drive, eat, tattos, girffriends...etc. The storyline was very interesting and the twist in the story made things fun. Now the down side for me was the dancing challenges, time crunch and the airplane training. Also the glitches was unbareable at times. I believe they push the PS2 to the max and at its time of release it was one of or not the best game. Its truely a deal. I liked the game so much I purchased it on PC.

I thought this game was pretty fun. It was long and had lots of missions for lots of different people. I didn't the storyline was that great though. One day you return to San Andreas as Carl Johnson and you go from there, doing missions for other Grove Street gang members. I also thought the two player was really fun. You can visit a certain location where a second player can join and you two can do whatever you want. Also, it's the only Grand Theft Auto game with two player. So, all that was great, but, the graphics weren't so great. |But, that doesn't really ruin the game. So, I would recommend this game to anyone looking so a lengthy, enjoyable, role playing game.

I bought this game for $15 and it is probably the best game out of my collection of 30 games. I love this game! Even after "finishing the game" ( there isn't really any finishing) there is still a lot of fun stuff to do. Also for you two player fanatics, you can roam around and kill people in two player mode! This is the best game for PS2 and it is only $15! If you are even thinking of buying this game, buy it!

This is a great game, defently worth the $20, great free roam. can do more in this game than in any other game on the market. But you really need to be mature enough to handle it. On a down side i had alot of freezes and disc read errors, but i think its just my ps2.

I absolutely love this game. It is the best by far. I think since the new Gta Iv is not on ps2 platform that those who didn't already have this game went out and bought it. I like the soundtrack. it is the best. I love the characters and it is very aggressive

This is a really great game everything is either really good if not great. The only thing that they could of done better on is the graphics but everything else makes up for it. If you dont have this game GET IT!!!

I must say San Andreas is probably the best game on the ps2. I love the gameplay where i will normally get in shootouts and just raise complete mayhem. I love the new weapons that were also added like the Javelin missle launcher, the satchel charges, and my personal favorite the Minigun. The newer features like car modification, going into resteraunts, shopping for clothing, and also getting haircuts makes the game feel more realistic and makes it a greater overall experience. Overall this game is a must buy, and ever since i bought my 360 i've missed going around as CJ teraing up the streets of San Andreas, but you never know, they should make a remake.

Its a really fun and exiting game to play. But you get fooled by some charcters that you think are your friends but they are just using you for their other gangs i recomend people to buy it if they like actiom and shooting games.

it is one of the best games for ps2 no doubt about it. this game was my favorite game and still is. i would recomend this to evryone

Great storyline that gets you hooked on the game. Your living the lifestyle of 90's gang life through the eyes of "CJ" or Carl Johnson. The game gets you involved in wild car chases, robberies, gun battles and street racing. This game has a KILLER soundtrack featuring classic 90's Hip-hop, Rock, Alternative, Country. If you haven't bought this game yet... (you might be the only one) its a must buy for any ps2 owner.
