Awesome if you're a Pantera fan

I have the original CD from 1996 and it sounds great but the 2016 re-issue is awesome...that is if you're a Pantera fan like me. Just enough enhancements to the sound that it doesn't take away from the original but adds great sharpness and clarity. I can hear all Dime's guitar overdubs, Vinnie's drums sound like he's in the room with you, Rex's bass rumbles your insides but you can hear every note, Phil sounds like he's screaming in your face! G.S.T.K. is my favorite besides Far Beyond Driven, which I bought both at Best Buy, the original and the 20th Anniversary re-issue. The bonus CD is awesome! Live versions of some of the songs from the GSTK tour and early mixes of many of the songs and a 2016 mix of the title cut. I love the whole album but I really love hearing the early mix of "Floods". It gives me insight to how Dimebag worked his magic in the studio. What his early ideas were...I'm a guitarist myself and record my own music and Pantera, particularly the late Dimebag Darrell Abbott, RIP, is a major influence on my playing and my style...There was only one Dimebag Darrell, coolest dude ever, and there will never be another like him and it's great to hear him so clear and sharp on this awesome re-issue!!

What can be said about Pantera that hasn't already been said...and The Great Southern Trendkill is no exception! Going harder than their previous two albums, Pantera set out to prove one thing AND one thing only: METAL MUSIC IS HERE...AND IT AIN'T GOING NOWHERE! Considered by some (including myself) the 'forgotten Pantera album', Phil Anselmo is clearing exercising his demons on TGST. His vocals are shouted out (with precision), Dimebag Darrell's perfectly executed guitar, and Vinny and Rex's tight rhythm sections created a bombastic sound that is second and many metal band have emulated and imitated! Although this was the beginning of the end of one of the greatest metal bands to live, TGST is a near masterpiece of a metal album in the catalog of Pantera material!

When Pantera first released The Great Southern Trendkill 20 years ago it wasn't received as well as their three prior major label albums. However as time has gone on it has grown to be a cult favorite of many Pantera fans. Some standout tracks on the album include "War Nerve", "Drag the Waters", "Suicide Note Pt. I", Suicide Note Pt. II", "Floods" which many consider to have one of the late Dimebag Darrell's greatest guitar solos & closing track "(Reprise) Sandblasted Skin". The bonus disc contains previously unreleased demos & live songs making this a must own for any diehard Pantera fan.

20th Anniversary Edition! The Alubm has been remastered with a Bonus Disc including 12 Preiviously Unreleased Mixes, Istrumentals and Live Tracks. The booklet includes rare photos form that era and Liner Notes By Katherine Turman. This new Editon is a must have for fans. The bonus disc is worth it alone if you are a collector like I am. It comes in a nice Digi-Pack and it reasonably priced as well. Listening to this album always takes me back to that time of my life. I really miss seeing Pantera live! There are not many bands around this like anymore.

This 20th anniversary of one of Pantera's underrated masterpiece is great! The remaster sounds awesome, more richer to my ears. The "outtakes" disc is fantastic too. The stand out Floods is great on the remaster but the early version is quite interesting too. If you don't own this album - must buy, if you already own it, I feel it's worth the double dip. Pantera, greatly missed gods of metal. All Hail!

The Great Southern Trendkill (20th Anniversary)

The latest Pantera reissue is the heaviest and darkest of their discography, and was their last great one (apologies if you liked Reinventing The Steel) before the disbanding of the group and the unfortunate death of Dimebag Darrell. The remastering of the album and the bonus CD The Great Southern Outtakes are the main reasons to pick this up if you liked the album.

I was a teenager when this album first came out and I was very excited for this reissue. It does not disappoint! The remaster sounds fantastic and the extra disc is full of good stuff. Cool demo tracks and early cuts, plus some killer live tracks. If you are a Pantera fan, you gotta grab this one!

Exactly what you would expect from an anniversary release. I love this album. The bonus disc gives you some cool earlier mixes, a few live and instrumental tracks. Throw on the instrumental tracks and scream your head off.

This is by far Pantera's best CD. This 20th anniversary edition is a must for any Pantera fan. The 2nd disc is great and lend you hear some of the demos and early versions of the songs.

This is the hardest Pantera album they released. This album is and will always be a classic. I'm collecting all the expanded albums as they come out. Pantera is timeless.

In my opinion, this is Pantera's last great album. The remaster job is good, but the bonus disc is worth the price of admission. I love the live tracks presented here and the "early mixes" give a more understanding on how they wanted the album to sound.

This band just kept getting heavier and heavier. While it's not as engaging and well-rounded out like their 2 previous albums before this in my opinion, if you're looking for in-your-face, aggressive metal, then you came to the right place!
