Purchased this phone for my 90 year old dad. He needed something that was not too complex to operate. This phone has two home page settings, one that is the normal smartphone home page with small icons and the other is two tabs with the applications as large buttons lined up vertically for ease of use for the senior generation. It also has an emergency button in case they fall or get disoriented and lost (It's just like a first alert system). My dad goes for walks so he carries the phone with him. Another plus, it's on the Jitterbug network (Verizon), which means great service even out here in the country where we live. You can't go wrong with this phone! Service is $40 per month.

I purchased the phone for my father who has difficulty with normal smart phones. This was the right choice based on the easy to read display and simplicity of the apps.
The phone was easy to setup and the customer support was excellent. In all it was the right choice.

I purchased this phone for my mother because the larger device is easier for her to hold. Also with the large icons it makes it easy to navigate and she is very happy with it.

Decent Android Smartphone - but no store support

I bought this new android based Jitterbug smartphone for an older person that was previously using a flip phone. This Jitterbug smartphone is decent quality and fairly easy to use but there is no store support for it. Best Buy sells it but they don't assist in set-up, transferring data or porting your current phone #. It was a not a pleasant experience to port the phone # from a previous phone. GreatCall customer service for this Jitterbug smartphone by email and phone was not an easy process. Took over 24 hours to port the phone after many phone calls and emails. The phone does work well but I am not sure about the GreatCall customer service. If Best Buy sells this phone they should provide customer support for the product.

This is an easy to use cell phone. Texts are easy to compose and send. Buttons and numbers are larger than most phones. The 5Star button can be used for emergencies.

I purchased this unit for my grandmother because she wanted a smartphone. However, it was too complicated for her. She exchanged the smartphone for the flip phone.
This phone would probably be fine for anyone who is somewhat tech savvy.

I have never owned anything but a flip phone and I'm having problems learning all of it's capabilities. The battery goes down really fast, even when I'm not using it. It says I'm over my Data limit, and I do not know what data consist of. I am connected to Wi-fi most the time I use the phone. How can I be over my limit?

Easy set up with great call. Would like volume on the phone to be a little louder especially being this phone is designed for use by seniors. So far very satisfied with the product.

I'm not into smart phones, but the lack of band width on my flip phone forced me into this Jitterbug. Way too many bells and whistles for me. Signal reception is still spotty, but that's not the fault of the phone. Would consider it a good buy for those who like to use a phone for more than just making and receiving calls.

Bought this for my 82 year old Dad. He wanted to give the smartphone a try. This one was simple enough for him to navigate. I'm pleased they made it simplistic enough for him to feel confident trying something new.

Great Call CS lacking & Jitterbug manual useless

I chose Jitterbug smart ph for reduced cell ph cost, no contracts & reduced monthly charges. The Jitterbug smart ph was set incorrectly at factory & unable to display the proper screens to pick up incoming calls or texts. The manual that comes with the ph is useless to troubleshoot problems. Their CSR admitted this factory setting has been a problem. Calls are rushed. The CSR told me she only had so many minutes to stay on a call, therefore resolving problems is ineffective. Eventually, I was connected to tech support who reset the phone & showed me that there is both a Jitterbug & Android format on the phone. In Jitterbug format, there is little a consumer can do to change settings. In Android format, the consumer has full access to all Android features. The Jitterbug smart ph is marketed to senior citizens as easy to use. I strongly disagree. Perhaps the Jitterbug flip ph is better for seniors. It is very easy to hit a wrong button on the smart ph that can totally affect usage & the consumer cannot resolve problems using the manual. Calling CS first level support is useless & I found the tech support knowledgeable but very condescending, argumentative & set on making it clear that it was I who caused the problem when in fact it was defective from the start. I bought my ph at Best Buy. The sales person told me my contacts & photos could be transferred from my iphone when in fact they could not. Another Best Buy employee told me they could be transferred via blue tooth. It didn't work for me.

Works great once you get the service setup

Phone works great, but getting the service setup and determining the best plan was a challenge. The cheapest (base) plan is probably not enough for most people, unless you only intend very limited use. So the cost will be more than we expected from the advertising. Also, the process for sending photos was not intuitive for our 70+ year old mother. After spending some time with the representative on the phone we finally figured it out. Also, the ability for the rep to have control of the phone to help is a nice feature, but again, turning on that feature was not intuitive. Now that she's figured all that out, seems to be working fine and she certainly enjoys it more than the old flip phone she had.

This phone is not easy to use! We bought this phone for my mother-in-law who is 85 to upgrade from her flip phone and have sent it back and went back to her old phone. It is NOT intuitive and the instructions are minimal and confusing. We could barely figure it out and she cried constantly just trying to answer it when it rang because it was difficult to slide. Unless you are already familiar with smart phones, I would avoid this one as a starter
