As simple as it may be, having a volume knob on your desk is a great thing. I work in front of a computer for 18+ hours a day and almost always have music or a movie playing. There's frequently a need to crank up the tunes or turn down explosions so I can jam out or concentrate. This lil' button makes it second-nature. Sometimes even the simplest gadget adds a level of quality to your day. The Griffin PowerMate is such a device. Speaking of quality, the aluminum construction, rubber base, and blue ambient light all add to a great attention to detail. The Griffin PowerMate actually feels like quality. In fact, this is the reason I chose this older corded model over the newer bluetooth version (the bluetooth version is 51% plastic). I have one of these on every computer I use... both Mac and Windows. And, yes, I would highly recommend this to anyone who works at their computer for most of the day... especially if you love music while you work.
