Griddle is much higher than burners

Very well made cast iron. The one I got said it was pre-seasoned, but didn't specify which oil was used. No non-stick surface added, which was what I wanted. It is very heavy, about 20 lbs. When in place, it is much higher than the burners next to it, to me it looked odd on my Monogram 6 burner rangetop. I expected it to be at the same height as the burner grates. You won't have a flat surface across the top to set things like baking sheets on. 12" or larger cookware will be difficult to center over the dual stacked front burners since the Griddle has to go in the center on the 6 burner rangetop for the matched burners. I decided to return it as soon as I set it up on my rangetop, mostly due to the added height that will interfere with the way I cook with larger pans, and how I use the surface area of my rangetop.

Besides the weight and it being oversized, it doesn't really work well as a griddle either. Raised above the rest of the cooktop, it makes using any of the side burners difficult at best. I found the surface not great.
Weight makes it hard to clean, hard to store, hard to use because you can't leave it on the stove all the time.
If it came seasoned, which some reviews say it is, that was removed by first use. If it didn't come seasoned, then not really sure why it changed so much after cooking a single burger on it. It's the only item in the box so trying to get detailed product information is difficult, both Best Buy and GE's website have limited info.
Find it hard to believe that an $8,000 stove has this as an approved add on. Terribly disappointed that we spent $350 on this and it's basically useless as far as I am concerned.

Bad design, disrupts entire cook range experience

What a great way to take something that could've been amazing and turn it into a garbage product. As the other reviewer also pointed out, this is to be used only on middle burners of the 36" cook range and must sit on the high stand it comes with. It renders the entire cook range experience awkward and clumsy. What genius in GE came up with this design is beyond me but I'm returning it. I'll just buy a premium quality two burner griddle that I'll put on top of my burners, for a third of the price. I thought I was installing it wrong, but the product manual for this griddle confirms that the bozo design is the way it's meant to be used. And on top of it all, they make you wait 2 months before you get this. What a waste of time, effort and money.

Excellent Cast Iron

This griddle is great! Heavy duty cast iron gives great heat retention. Elevated above burners for uniform heat distribution. Pricey, but it’s such high quality and so well engineered, it’s worth it. Fit is perfect in my Cafe range top. If you’re serious about cooking with cast iron, understand carbonization and how to season cast iron over time, you’ll love this griddle. This griddle has quickly become the workhorse of our kitchen. If you want something maintenance free that looks cool, this is not the product for you.

Thought this would work great for my new stovetop but was greatly disappointed. First of all, this thing is HEAVY! It makes it difficult to clean or remove when you want to store it. Used it once to make pancakes on the griddle side. The day after I cleaned it and wiped it dry, it had started to rust on the grill side.

Everything is good with this, Heavy good for heat distribution. Only issue I have is it sits significantly above adjacent burners so leaving on stove when not in use is not an option
