I had to replace my iPhone 6 and called the Geek Helpline. I knew my insurance was still good, but I was directed by the associate to go to my designated Best Buy store. Unfortunately, the associate failed to clarify that I would have to pay $149.99 plus taxes. Needless to say, this did not go down well with me. On top of this the store associate was short with me and that my phone had to go back to Apple which meant I would be without one. In the end I paid the fee totaling over $160.00, but didn't hand over my iPhone until the replacement arrived at the store. I would have been better prepared had the female associate on the phone been clearer instead of shirking her responsibilities and leaving it to the store to explain when I wasn't expecting it. I had used the service before and did not pay. Once it was fully explained did I hand over the money, plus I had no choice since it needed to be replaced. And the final straw - I lost information in the changeover. All in all not a good experience. I get the feeling these days that Best Buy is becoming less customer oriented and more, "Get as much money as you can from the customer and no flexibility." On this occasion if you can get better insurance elsewhere; go for it, but for now I am in no mood to recommend the treatment I received.

I would suggest using the Apple Plus plan instead of the Geek Plan. Also, you better get an appointment to see the Geek!
