Pretty good movie I liked the raccoon my niece liked too.

love the movie! The 4K the atmos...I’m super upset I got a destroyed steelbook sent to me...I mean the inside is destroyed and the top is destroyed...I’m highly upset to spend so much money to get something that is broke... I don’t like the generic slips the mouse has put out of the MCU and 4K uprgades. So I have been trying to upgrade them to 4K with steelbooks bc I love the art...but this stinks and I can’t order a new one bc it’s out of stock....

The steelbook artwork is wonderful. This is perhaps my favorite MCU film, and thankfully the 4K blu-ray looks and sounds great. Overall, I thought it looked pretty good. Not as good as Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 in terms of HDR and Wider Color Gamut but it still looked better than the standard blu-ray, especially everything involving the Orb, spaceships, and other more subtle things like ship console lights and specular highlights were brighter while the rest of the image stayed within a more neutral brightness level, creating some really nice HDR effects. One stunning sequence was when Groot uses the fireflies(?) to light up the spaceship towards the end of the film. There was a nice uptick in detail especially on the customs and makeup effects which should be more appreciable on larger screens. Given the fact this was never made with HDR in mind, I thought it looked quite well. Audio wise, it wasn't the most aggressive mix but I did not think it was lacking either. There were plenty of moments where the sub made my couch rumble. So not sure why people think it is lacking in terms of dynamics . I had to set the volume higher than usual but afterwards it sounded pretty darn good. I do think the overheads and height layer could have been used more but otherwise it sounded great. Plenty of surround effects, and clarity and complexity are top notch. If the height layer had been used more I think I would have given it a perfect score.

I really like the movie itself, and bought the 4K version to upgrade from the original DVD. Picture was a bit better, but the audio was not. Almost nothing coming from the ceiling speakers! The whole intro scene where Starlord found the orb, on a planet full of opportunities for height speakers (rain, thunder, geysers, explosions, aircraft tumbling through the sky), the ceiling speakers were silent. I disconnected my base layer so i could just hear the ceilings, and nothing. Just one 5 second "buzz" when he throws the magnetic device at the ninja turtles near his spacecraft. Do not buy this for the atmos - it's not worth it. Get the Blu-ray in 7.1 audio and let your AVR add the height sounds.

I love the fact that Disney is re-releasing all the MCU movies in 4k formats and with steelbook cases. Guardians Of The Galaxy completes my collection. I know some people don't like the idea of double even triple dipping, but for these 4k steelbooks, it's worth it espeacially if you love collecting physical media like myself. The quality of the video and audio in 4k is something you would have to experience, words couldn't descibe how fulfilling it is to the senses. If you enjoyed Guardians the first few times, this version takes it to a new level.

This movie will get at your heart within the first few minutes of the movie and then from there you are just excited with all the action and story. It is a wonderful Marvel story like only Marvel can do.

I’ve said this before in other 4K Marvel movie releases, so it’s not so much a surprise for me, but this is not a true 4K transfer and is actually an upscale. Another non-surprise (but still bitter disappointment) is that this is a bare bones, standard re-release of GOTG that has the exact same special features as the original release. Given that my purpose for rebuying these movies at this point is just to have all of them be in 4K, I got the basic of what I wanted from the purchase, but I’m still very disappointed in Disney and Marvel that they couldn’t treat their fans a bit better with these releases. And now seeing that they’re about to release entire Infinity Saga 4K collector’s set for $599 which comes with other features is incredibly infuriating.

I really like Guardians (1). Much better than 2. The movie is funny with plenty of action and a good story to tie into the rest of the Infinity Stone Saga. I also love the digital/Blu-ray format. I previously always bought the triple combo (w/ DVD) but almost all of my players now are Blu-ray so not a problem anymore not having DVD. The digital is a must because my kids all enjoy watching them on phones or tablets. Great movie, and great format.

Strictly talking about the video quality, it's 4K so obviously it looks great. In terms of the actual movie itself, one of the best Marvel and superhero movies out there. The comedy is spot on, the action is great, pacing of the movie works well, and despite spending time on alien planets it doesn't feel convoluted. For a group that was essentially unheard of, it is remarkable how great it come out but a lot of the credit could be give to the cast.

I held off on this one as sure enough after getting all the Cap and Iron Man steels they announced the full MCU 23 box set. I was glad that it wasn’t as good as I thought it could be and I went out and got me a copy of one of my favorite MCU films. I hope they do a rerelease of Vol. 2. I am glad they are releasing new editions as I just got into collecting steelbooks and I didn’t want to pay the ridiculous prices on eBay for the original release.

This has to be hands-down top-five Marvel movie of all time. I was incredibly surprised by the cast that they put together and the characters, which to me were virtually unknown, soon became my favorite of all the movies. This gave marvel fans the space sci-fi drama they desired and they hit a homerun. Nothing but great! As for 4K, got this at a great deal $15 so that can’t be beat. Also this is for the steel book great to have.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 steelbook is a great addition to my steelbook collection. I already own the Vol. 2 and was wondering if the Best Buy would ever get a Vol. 1 steelbook. I did have an issue with shipping as the steelbook had a dent on the front being shipped in a padded envelope but the replacement did come with no issues. Definitely satisfied with my purchase.

Thank you so much BESTBUY for delivering this bad boy early! I completely enjoyed this film as if I'm watching it the very first time! HDR in this is stunning and the 4k crispness is a wow! Sound quality wist, the use of dolby atmos is a little disappointed. Could've been better. But the speedy delivery alone by bestbuy is a sure win!!! Thanks again bestbuy!

The movie is awesome - it is its own different story line with different characters from the Avengers, but great plot, likeable characters, excellent humour. Also thanks to best buy for price match on this. By the way, the language and references are a bit raunchy compared to other MCU movies so if you have younger ones, definitely watch together.

"What a bunch of a-holes!" This movie was great! I loved all of the characters and the people who portrayed them. I'm really glad they decided to come out with the first GOTG movie in 4k Steelbook. I needed it to complete my collection!! If you haven't seen it, you should! Trust me! "I can't believe I am taking orders from a hamster"

Bringing little known characters to the front and giving them a five star movie is the way to go. The extra features are the best too. A must have for any Marvel fan.

This movie surprised me by how much I loved it. The cast was spot on, the soundtrack was phenomenal and it's a must see for the overall MCU experience. I'm so glad they finally released another steelbook version of the movie and in 4K to boot! Some scenes in particular, like Knowhere, are going to look awesome in 4K

This completed the 4K series of the Guardians, enjoyed all and the soundtrack. WAS SORRY TO HERE BEST BUY STORES WILL NO LONGER OFFER DVD’s. I BEEN A CUSTOMER SINCE THEY OPENED, GUESS OLDER GENERATIONS DON’T COUNT!

I really enjoy this movie, like a lot. It is funny, you don't need to know a ton of back story to enjoy it, and it looks so good. Very creative and unique, well maybe not so unique, but it's the best Star Wars movie that's not a Star Wars movie. Great performances and it is legit fun from start to finish.
