I cracked out watching this..... I sat around in my underwear and only moved for food and bathroom breaks

Was looking for an anime that followed non-standard tropes. This one seemed promising, boasting a somewhat unique storyline that elicits nostalgia for such greats as s-CRY-ed or Revolutionary Girl Utena, with all the political intrigue of Rideback or Toshokan Sensou... But the Blu-ray case didn't mention anything along the lines of "schools", "students", "classes", etc, which is specifically what I was looking to avoid. Sure enough, you can't get through more than an episode or two without this "normal emo high school boy having to sit at a desk and deal with jibes from his classmates" trope. Don't get me wrong; the production value is great; it was made by some of the same people who worked on Attack on Titan, Death Note, HSotD, Code Geass and Gundam; and I'll get around to giving it a chance and watching the rest of the discs someday, but this just wasn't what I was looking for at this point in my life. Next time, I'll be sure to read the reviews online instead of trusting covers in-store. Mea culpa. Caveat emptor!
